LSD: LUNA SERVICE DAY...
so yah, Luna is in for service today. means im on my lonesome. ^^
i wanted to share a few things with you guys...
First is an extract from Luna's User manual:
WELCOME
The scooter presents you with a challenge to master the machine, a challenge to adventure. You ride through the wind, linked to the road by a vehicle that responds to your command as no other does. Unlike an automobile, there is no metal cage around you. Like an airplane, a pre-ride inspection and regular maintenance are essential to your safety. Your reward is FREEDOM.
kinda poetic for an owners manual i thought, but its really got the spirit of riding in there. something you only understand after riding a motorbike/motor scooter. something thats different from riding in a car or other four wheeled machines...
nehoo, on to the more serious stuff. Its Rememberance Day today (see yesterdays post)
so we start off with this...
For The Fallen
With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.
But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;
As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.
now, two minutes silence.
and finally, Last Post.
*plays Last Post on his trumpet*
*claps his hands and bows*
Please remember that your freedom today is thanks to the valiant efforts of those who fought in both world wars and all conflicts since. Yes War is wrong, violent and devastating. But it takes a hero to go to war and fight for our freedom.
Good Luck to Flueky on her test today.
Peace and Love.
Darke.
