stupid nostalgia...
i was having a bath last night (as you do) thinking bout christmas, realising its not that far away and im going to have to get christmas presents and the like sorted. My best friend had asked me if I would draw a chibi version of him and I was going to put it in his card. It suddenly occured to me that I could put a picture of him wen he was little and call that chibi. so, after my bath, I went picture hunting, and found my old school photos. I found two class photos from 1992 (my first year at Primary school) and 1998 (my last year at primary school). Wow. was that a nostalgia trip. especially the 92 one. we looked so young, angelic and innocent back then. I think I was five back then. everyone looked so different. And I started to think about what life was like back then and how my life now is a billion miles away from what it was. I dont think in my wildest dreams back then I could have imagined myself as I am today, almost 18. if someone had told me back then that'd Id be driving a moped, still at school (i was planning to leave asap back then) and id be really into Japanese animation, I dont think I would have believed them. Even in the 98 photo I was still at least a year away from getting into Pokemon. man oh man.
I still know some of the people who used to be in my old class. they havent changed much physically, (which is quite amusing) but definitely have changed alot mentally. I guess thats what life does to a person I suppose.
any whoo, last night I had a dream that I went back to my Primary School (as I am now) and saw some of my old teachers and classes eing taught. And this teacher in my dream said "its never the same when you go back is it? it must have seemed so large and exciting back then, but now seems very small and dull." and I replied
"small yes, but dull, no."
Its weird, cuz in my dream my old school had all there rooms with like Photo labs and dressing rooms and other abandoned but interesting rooms that my old school didnt actually have. I think it was my mind playing tricks on me because when I was at school, alot of the rooms we had were forbidden to us students, and they seemed mysterious and stuff.
it was weird, yet strangely pleasant. I also met up with this girl who used to be in my class in my dream. I see her from time to time, but i have no idea why she appeared in my dream. we were friends, but not very close, and these days we're even more distant.
ne hoo, enough rambling.
heres todays strip...
Im only gonna do one a day this week cuz im running out. I need to draw up some more...
Later y'all. have a nice week...
EDIT: just found these lyrics, and they amused me so here we go:
There's a light in your soul, that says you're one of a kind,
you'll never let go. Be original, an individual, like Dr. Pepper. Be you, do what you do. (Dr. Pepper) Be you do what you do. (Nothin better) Be you do what you do.
"Dr. Pepper" by Garth Brooks. I like that. thats cool.
