I'm officially bored. I know I just wrote a post like three hours ago, but anyway. I'm just rereading some of my Naruto fanfics and I feel like posting them SOMEWHERE...just cuz I keep reading them and no one else has. =P I have like...three separate Naruto fanfics I'm working on. I also drew cute little fanart sketches from firefly's fanfic called Piano Man And Church Boy at fanfiction.net. It's sooooo funny and stars Hidan and Itachi. I never laughed so much in my life. Anyway...um...maybe I'll post small bits from my Kabuto/OC/Kakashi fanfic. It's one of the fics I'm most proud of (it's 68 pages so my fingers better not be typing for nothing >.<) Basically, my character Skyler is transported to the Naruto universe by Kabuto, who was testing out this new teleportation jutsu. I still don't have the beginning actually written. I have the middle almost completely done. The story is in Skyler's POV (mostly, I think a few times it goes to normal POV). The first part I'm posting is kinda where I started the whole story off (these ideas just came to me in my sleep and I wrote them down as fast as I could.) I love my character. I wish my name was actually Skyler. It's such a pretty name. Anyway...um...enjoy!
***
I’m not sure how I managed to survive for as long as I did. Orochimaru and Kabuto put me through hellish training. They knew I was from another world, another time and place, and they wanted to test my capacity. They wanted to see what people from my world could do. For all that effort, all they seemed to learn was that I had an extremely bad temper when annoyed and pressured, and that I hated them both. I couldn’t learn their ninja techniques for the fact that I didn’t have any chakra in my body, according to Kabuto’s knowledge.
And I guess Orochimaru would have disposed of me if I hadn’t brought a souvenir with me from my world. I hadn’t even realized it was with me until I went to strap on some shoes. I had brought my father’s handgun (unintentionally), something that both ninjas were very curious about. Orochimaru had then asked me what it did, and like an idiot I told him it was a dangerous weapon used to either defend or murder with. He had then grinned really creepily and had ordered his servants to make several more guns like my father’s, bullets included.
I had never used a gun before in my life. Not even for defense. So when I was ordered to begin training with the guns, I was clueless. I knew how to hold the gun, but my aim was horrible and I was slow on pulling the trigger. I began practicing on trees, trying my hardest to hit the targets. Kabuto would watch my progress, while I painted little pictures in my mind of me blowing his criticizing head off. Who was he to tell me how to hold and aim my gun? He had never even heard of the weapon until I had explained it to him and his master.
“I swear, if you don’t shut up,” I hissed after having lost my patience with him, “I will turn around and blow your head off.”
He seemed amused. “You can’t even hit the target. I doubt you could hit my head.”
“Only one way to find out.” I swiftly turned and aimed the gun at him. I wanted to smirk when I saw the worry on his face. He didn’t like the gun and I could tell. He didn’t like weapons that required little to no effort to use. But it still felt good to know that I held the power over him by just knowing the basics of a handgun. He claimed he was smart, and I could see that he was, but when it came to things about my world, he was completely clueless. “If I miss your head and hit an arm or a leg, would you call that a hit or miss?” I taunted.
Kabuto didn’t move. He didn’t trust me with the gun, and frankly, neither did I. I still wasn’t used to the smooth handle and destructive power it gave me. I wasn’t sure if I would have shot him. He was fun to tease and kept things interesting while I stayed at Orochimaru’s castle. I lowered the gun and I saw him relax instantly.
“I wouldn’t have shot you, you know,” I mumbled as I holstered the gun.
“A ninja must always stay on his guard,” he countered, pushing his glasses up on his nose; a habit I noticed he only did when he was nervous or scheming something. And since his evil smirk of I-know-something-you-don’t-know wasn’t on his face, I assumed he was just nervous.
“Yeah, okay,” I answered, not believing him. “Sorry if I freaked you out or anything.”
“You didn’t.”
I raised my eyebrows. “Really? It looked like you were about to piss your pants.”
His cheeks turned pink. I grinned. “You’re still not good at reading people yet, Skyler. Don’t assume you knew what I was thinking.”
“I’m not. I only had to read your body language. I didn’t take three courses of psychology in college for nothing, you know.” The gun was safely stored inside the holster on my hip as I walked back to my room, Kabuto slowly following me.
I actually managed to improve overtime. I’m not sure how long I stayed with Orochimaru and Kabuto. Months passed and I began to wonder if my family missed me. Did they even notice I was gone? How much time had passed since I had been taken to this strange world? All my questions went unanswered and I became Orochimaru’s assassin. Kabuto had trained me one-on-one to fight using taijutsu (even though he openly admitted that he sucked at it) and my experience with the handguns was unrivaled. I was called a killing machine. I knew I couldn’t go back to being the shy girl I had been. Not with blood on my hands. I had killed people using a weapon they had never seen before. There was no place in my heart to be weak anymore.
It seemed my change in attitude had suddenly attracted Kabuto and he spent a lot of his time sparring with me, testing my taijutsu, which, by the way, was a lot better than his own. I didn’t mind the silver-haired ninja as much anymore. Sure, he was a cocky bastard, but we got along all right. I was considered a sound-nin, even though I really wasn’t a ninja. It felt nice to be part of something, even if that something was allegedly evil. One day, after a mission, I sensed a new presence within the castle and went to investigate. There was a young boy, not much older than 13, with dark hair being led into the castle by Kabuto. I jumped from my perch on a tree and followed the two. The boy didn’t look trustworthy to me. I upholstered my gun and took the safety off.
“It’s rude to sneak up on people,” the boy snarled suddenly.
On instinct, I pressed the gun against his head. He turned his cold gaze on me, his eyes suddenly turning red. Despite my amazement at his complete aloofness, I kept the gun firmly against his forehead. “Skyler,” Kabuto started, but I shook my head.
“Why are you here?” I spat.
“To see Orochimaru.”
“You can’t be more than 13…why would you come here willingly?”
He smirked. “For power.”
I held the gun tighter, letting my finger press on the trigger slightly. “I could blow your brains out with one pull of the trigger,” I said coolly. He stayed silent. I smirked. “Not much of a smartass now, huh?”
“Your toy doesn’t scare me,” he spat.
“Toy?” I took the gun from his head and roughly positioned it under his chin. I stared into his red eyes, seeing sadness and anger in them. For a fleeting moment, I thought he was my younger brother. He looked nothing like him, except for the defiant eyes. Eyes of someone who wasn’t afraid. I pulled back and holstered the gun. “I’m Skyler. What’s your name, kid?”
His eyes turned black and he frowned. “Sasuke Uchiha.”
“Sorry for coming at you so suddenly. I had no right.”
“It doesn’t matter.” Kabuto gave me a look that told me to get lost and I nodded. The boy…Sasuke…there was something about him that made me feel protective. Older sibling syndrome? The fact that I hadn’t seen my little brother for what felt like two years? I don’t know. I missed teasing Liam and seeing his cocky smile. Maybe Sasuke would fill the place in my heart that missed my brother.
***
I won't post the next part because all that happens is some Kabuto/OC lovin'. ^-^ Hmm...okay, here's another scene that kinda just came to me when I was sleeping. I wrote the whole sequence in about...10 minutes maybe? I dunno. It's pretty funny. Kabuto was trying to send Skyler back to her own time with that teleportation jutsu thing he created and successfully sends her back...however...
***
I woke up in my own bed, shaking uncontrollably. Wait, my bed…? I sat up and felt like crying in happiness. I was home! No more Orochimaru…no more killing…no more Kabuto…
I felt something shift next to me and glanced down. I screamed. “WHAT THE FUCK??!!”
Kabuto turned and smirked up at me. “Hey.”
“You…bastard! How did you get here?!”
“When I transported you, I followed.”
I clenched my fists and sighed. “Maybe this’ll be a good experience for you. Maybe you’ll get killed here and I won’t have to deal with you anymore.”
“You don’t mean that, Sky,” he teased. “I know you don’t.”
“Oh yeah? Look, if my parents find you in bed with me, they will have you arrested.”
He rolled his eyes. “If you want me to leave so badly, I will.”
“You’ll need new clothes. For the record, men usually do not walk around in purple outfits in this time. If they do, they are not walking the straight path of life.”
He seemed confused until his eyes widened and he blushed slightly. “All right. So can you take me to your local shopping center?”
“Maybe. Depends if I want to.”
“Hey! Skyler!” I heard my little brother shouting. “I heard you scream, sis. You okay?”
Oh sure, the one time he actually gives a shit. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Can I come in?”
“No!”
“Are you naked?” he asked suspiciously.
“LIAAAAM!” I cried.
He laughed. “All right, I’ll leave you alone. Jeez…”
“Somehow, I don’t see how Sasuke-kun reminds you of your brother,” Kabuto mumbled. “They act nothing alike.”
“Try living with the kid for thirteen years and you’ll understand. Okay, I might be able to find some spare clothes from my dad’s drawers that you can borrow while we go out.” I crept into my parents’ room and found some clothes that I thought would be somewhat decent for him to wear.
“These are uncomfortable,” he complained.
“Oh be quiet,” I growled. “Be grateful I found something.” I opened my door slightly to make sure my brother wasn’t around. “Okay, we’re going to leave very quietly. When I open the porch door, I want you to rush into my car as fast as you can.”
“Car?”
Oh shit. I hung my head in exasperation. “I didn’t tell you about them?”
“No…?”
“Well, I’ll tell you on the way.”
“But—”
“Go! Now!” As he rushed by me to the porch door, I called loudly, “Liam! I’m going out for a bit, okay?”
“Okay!” he answered. I grabbed my car keys, thrust the door opened, and pushed Kabuto into the garage. He was staring curiously at my car, having never seen one before.
“Get in!” I snapped. He jumped slightly and got in on the passenger’s side. “Buckle your seatbelt,” I instructed. “It’s the law. Okay, now for some basics about cars. Most people own one in this time to get around to other places.”
“Why don’t they just walk?”
I sighed heavily. “Kabuto, this is the 21st century.” Of course, that had no meaning to him whatsoever. “Anyway, cars are machines that help people get to places faster. Now don’t freak out when I start the car, okay?”
He nodded but still jumped at the sound of the engine starting. I opened the garage door, fastened my own seatbelt, put the car in reverse, and backed out. Kabuto seemed absolutely terrified. As I pulled out of the driveway, I turned on the radio, which frightened the ninja even more. I put the car into drive and took a left out of the street. As I drove and searched for a good song on the radio, Kabuto was sitting stiffly in his seat.
“Wow. And you’re a ninja?” I said with a grin.
“This is all new to me,” he hissed. “I would prefer just to walk to our destination.”
“Hey, that’s fine with me. Where do you want me to throw you out of the car?”
He turned to me with wide eyes. “You’re not serious…?”
“Well, I am, but if I did that, I’d probably be arrested.”
“Where is your gun? Don’t you need it?”
“Okay, since you’re so out of the loop…People cannot just walk down the street with a gun, Kabuto. It’s against the law.”
“There are so many laws,” he grumbled.
“Yeah. And since you decided to come join me here, you better follow ‘em.”
I finally was able to find a good song and turned up the volume, to which Kabuto put his hands over his ears. “It’s loud!” he said.
“I know,” I replied. “It’s a good song, hence why I put the volume up.”
He frowned and took his hands away from his ears. “Your world is very strange.”
“You think so?” The drive to the mall wasn’t completely horrible. I was able to find a good parking space. I dragged Kabuto into the enormous shopping mall, receiving odd looks from passersby. “Okay, first thing to know about 21st century shopping centers,” I told him as we walked. “There are hundreds of stores to choose from: JC Penny, Marshalls, Hot Topic, and Hollister, to name a few. I’m not so sure what kind of style you go for.”
He was staring wide-eyed at all the shops, having probably never seen so much packed into one building before. “It doesn’t really matter,” he replied.
“Okay, then our first stop is Marshalls. They’ve got some good casual stuff there.”
“Skyler?”
“Hmm?”
“What’s Victoria’s Secret?”
I nearly tripped. I looked to where he was pointing and hurriedly pushed him away. “Nothing, just a store for women.”
“Do you shop there?”
“No.”
“Then why—”
“Can we not talk about this anymore, Kabuto?” I steered him into Marshalls, blushing furiously. Jeez. That’s the last thing I need him to know about. He wasn’t exactly a pervert, but you never know.
“What kind of clothes would you suggest?” he asked.
“Something you think you’d be comfortable in. There are changing rooms in the back so that you can try on stuff.”
“Are you going to buy anything?”
“As a matter of fact, I’ve been meaning to get some more pants. Be right back.”
I watched him out of the corner of my eye as he searched through the men’s clothing. I could see some women eyeing him and for some reason, it really bugged me. I hurriedly grabbed some pants and rushed back over to him, just as a worker at the store was asking him if he needed help.
“Um…no thanks,” he said to the helper, who pouted slightly. I took that moment to grab his arm possessively. Kabuto stared down at me in shock, while the woman gave me the evil eye.
“Sorry about leaving you like that…honey,” I said smiling.
Kabuto blinked. The woman growled. “Honey?” Kabuto repeated.
“Yes?”
“Uh…”
“Man, aren’t you just the sweetest guy?” I teased, leaning up to kiss his cheek. I watched the woman’s expression and nearly burst out laughing. She looked like she was about to literally skewer me alive. She stomped away angrily and I immediately let go of Kabuto, who collapsed onto the ground in shock. “Get up, idiot,” I snapped. “Go try on the clothes so that we can get out of here.”
“H-Hai.”
A half-hour later found us walking around the mall, simply because Kabuto wanted to see the different shops. He wanted to ‘understand my culture’, apparently. We walked by a group of teenagers all dressed in black and looking extremely moody. Kabuto tapped my shoulder and mumbled, “They’re all like Sasuke-kun.”
I snorted a laugh. As much as I hated to admit it, he was right. Please forgive me, Sasuke, I thought looking to the sky. “Hey! Skyler!” I turned and saw a familiar face running towards me. He was a guy of about six foot two, with short brown hair and hazel eyes. His name was on the tip of my tongue. We had had a few classes together in college. “Long time no see,” he said with a laugh. When I didn’t respond, he frowned. “You remember me, right? Cal from criminal justice?”
“Oh yeah!” I said smiling. “We sat next to each other.”
He smiled back. “Yeah. It’s great to see you.”
Kabuto cleared his throat suddenly. “Hello,” he said coolly. “I’m Kabuto.”
“Kabuto? You’re foreign?” Cal asked. When Kabuto nodded, he exclaimed, “Awesome! Where from? Your name sounds Japanese; is that where you’re from?”
Kabuto nodded again, narrowing his eyes. “Um, Kabuto, this is Cal, an old classmate of mine from the first college I attended. Cal, this is Kabuto…my…uh…friend.”
“Cool. Nice to meet you.” Cal reached out a hand to shake Kabuto’s. The silver-haired ninja was not happy. I could see the murderous intent in his eyes. Wonderful. He slowly clasped his hand into the brunette’s tightly. “Wow, tight hold,” Cal joked. “Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to go clubbing tonight, Skyler.”
“Clubbing? Uh…I dunno.”
“C’mon, it’ll be great.”
“Well—”
“We’ll be there,” Kabuto interrupted. I gaped at him. “What time?”
Cal blinked. “Um, eleven.”
“Right. See you later.”
We walked away from Cal, but as soon as he was out of our ear shot, I punched Kabuto’s shoulder. “You jackass!” I cried. “I’ve never gone clubbing in my life! And I’m pretty sure you haven’t either!”
He smirked. “My world may not be as advanced as yours, but we do have clubs. I myself have never been to one, but I understand the basic gist. That man wanted you to go so that he could dance with you.”
I stared at him. “Wait, you think Cal likes me?”
“He was quite obvious.”
“And you just volunteered to come along?”
“To protect you.”
“I am a criminal justice major, Kabuto. And I took self-defense classes. Plus, I trained with you and Orochimaru. I think I can handle myself against him if he tries anything, which he won’t.”
“You’re a bit naïve about people, aren’t you?”
I sighed. “Okay, can we just go now?”
“Don’t you need certain attire to go clubbing?”
“Well, unless you know where the closest leather store is…”
“That Hot Topic store might have something.”
We walked into the store and I was immediately steered over to a rack full of leather tops and pants. I wasn’t one for fashion but eventually found something I figured I could wear. The whole ride home, I was cursing Kabuto in my head. Before I pulled into the garage, I thought up a story for why Kabuto would be staying with us for awhile.
“I’m back!” I called.
“Hey, sis!” Liam replied. He came running up from the cellar. “Where’d you…” his eyes widened when he saw Kabuto. “…go? Who’s this?”
“I went to the mall, and this is a friend of mine. He’s a foreign…exchange student. He’ll be staying with us for awhile.”
“Oh. Do Mom and Dad know?”
“Uh, yeah. Of course. Look Liam, I’m going clubbing tonight with some friends. Are you gonna be okay until Mom and Dad get home?”
“Um…sure. I guess.”
As I walked into my room to begin changing into the clothes I would wear, I heard Liam ask Kabuto, “Are you gay?”
I burst out laughing once I closed the door to my room.
***
Mehehe. Poor Kabuto. Let's see...Let's skip ahead to the later parts of the story (where Skyler and Sasuke are in Konoha!) Yay! Anyway, Skyler works for Sasuke (he's the chief of police force in the village) and she's just captured Kabuto. Orochimaru and Itachi have been defeated (I won't go into details). Sasuke has married Sakura (yes!!! woot!) ^-^ Um...and Sky has moved on with her life. I'll look out for the naughty scenes.
***
“So you’re my cell guard, huh?” Kabuto sneered. “Not exactly a glamour job.”
“I don’t care. My orders are to keep a close eye on you,” I snapped.
“You mean we can’t talk about old times?”
I glared at him. “I don’t want to talk to you.”
“I’m hurt, Sky. I really am.”
“Don’t call me that as though we’re old friends.”
“But we are, Skyler,” he smirked. “In fact, we’re more than old friends.”
“Shut up.”
“Or you’ll do what?”
“Or I’ll come in there and blow your head off!”
“Using that threat again, eh?”
“It’s not a threat; it’s a promise, Kabuto.”
There was a long pause. “So how has life been for you in Konoha? Have you adapted nicely?” I blinked and turned around, angry that he was talking to me as though simply discussing the weather.
“I’ve adjusted.”
“I can’t imagine the Hokage accepting you with open arms when she found out you used to work for Orochimaru-sama.”
“No. I had to be watched closely before she could determine my true allegiance. When she did, I was promoted to working under Sasuke.”
“So are you and Sasuke…?”
“He’s happily married, if you must know.”
I saw him grin. “And you?”
I smirked. “I’m in a wonderful relationship with someone I care deeply for.”
His dark eyes widened. “So you’ve moved on.”
“Yes. You said yourself you never had any feelings for me, Kabuto. It was all just a game to you.”
“I did. So who is he? Have I heard of him?”
“You must have. Does copy ninja Kakashi Hatake ring any bells?”
“You and…Kakashi Hatake?” he hissed.
“It seems I have a liking for silver-haired men,” I chuckled.
“Does he treat you well?”
“Much better than you ever did.”
His fists clenched tightly. “So you love him?”
“Yes.”
“I see.”
“Skyler,” I heard Sasuke’s voice suddenly call me. “Could you come here for a minute?”
“Um, sure.” I hurried down the hallway and into Sasuke’s office. I closed the door behind me.
“I asked the Hokage what we should do with Kabuto,” he began, lacing his fingers together and resting his chin upon them. “She’s decided to take the same action she took with the two of us. She’s going to have someone watch over him closely everyday until she can prove his loyalty is not with Orochimaru anymore.”
“I see. So who will watch him?”
“Well…you’re not gonna like this.”
“What?”
He bit his lip. “She’s asked if you would watch him.”
My eyes widened. “But…I…”
“I know. I told her about your past relationship with him. Unfortunately, she didn’t care and said you were the only one she wanted to watch him. She trusts your judgment, Skyler. If Kabuto tries anything, she knows you can destroy him easily.”
“Kakashi is not going to like this.”
Sasuke smirked. “Here’s some more good news. Kabuto will have to take up residence with you and Kakashi.”
“Are you kidding me?!” I growled. “That’s a punishment for me, not him!”
“Look on the bright side. You and Kakashi will be fully armed while Kabuto will have not so much as a throwing needle.”
“Will I have to tell Kakashi…?”
“The Hokage should be informing him right about now.”
“Sasuke, this is really unfair,” I pouted.
“I know,” he sighed. “Trust me. Sakura tried persuading me by any means necessary. She knows how much you can’t stand Kabuto. But I can’t go against Tsunade’s orders.”
“If he tries anything, I swear, you’ll be cleaning up his guts from my walls.”
He smiled. “You have my permission to do so if he does try anything, Sky.”
“I guess I’ll go release him now.” I slowly walked back to his cell, taking out my gun and the keys to open the door. “Well guess what,” I said casually. “Looks like you’re free.”
“Are you serious?” he gasped as he stood up.
“Yeah, but not without some restrictions.”
“That kinda defeats the purpose of saying I’m free then.”
I ignored him. “The Hokage has allowed you to stay in Konoha under one condition. You must be watched at all times so that she can determine your allegiance.”
“So who will be watching me?”
“Tsunade-sama has appointed me and Kakashi to watch you. You will be staying with us.” As I said that, Kabuto started to laugh. “What’s so funny?” I snapped.
“The look on your face when you said that!” he chuckled. “Tsunade-sama must not know of our past relationship.”
“Actually she does,” I grumbled. Kabuto laughed even louder. “Shut up! I have full permission to blow your guts out if you try anything suspicious, so don’t piss me off.”
“Fine, fine.” He put his hands up in mock defeat. I placed my gun against his back and led him out of the prison. I was surprised to see Kakashi waiting outside. He looked irritated, but that was to be expected I suppose.
“I see Sasuke told you what the Hokage requested,” he said. He turned his gaze on Kabuto. “It’s been awhile.”
“I hear you’ve been busy, Kakashi,” Kabuto sneered.
“That’s none of your business, brat. Sky, if he becomes too annoying, shoot him.”
“It would be my pleasure,” I replied.
“This could count as police brutally, you know,” Kabuto muttered.
“Spare me.”
***
“This is troublesome,” I snarled as Kakashi and I sat on our shared bed. “Sometimes I think Tsunade-sama is out to get me.”
“Complaining is only going to make this job harder,” Kakashi retorted. “Besides, at least you don’t have to watch him alone.” He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. I sighed and leaned into his embrace.
“I guess you’re right.”
“Am I interrupting?” Kabuto stood in the doorway of his ‘guest room’, a look of pure disgust on his face. I glared hatefully at him.
“If you value your head…”
“Yeah, I get it.” He stomped back into his room.
“I’m truly amazed by the power of your weapons, Skyler,” Kakashi mumbled. “A simple threat by you and he can’t even fight back.”
I smirked. “That’s because he’s scared shitless of guns.”
“I am not!” came Kabuto’s muffled shout.
Kakashi and I looked at each other before we burst out laughing.
***
There's a small lime scene here...lalala...
***
“It’s rude to do that when someone is in the room right next to yours,” I heard Kabuto growl from the doorway.
“Live with it,” I shot back, crying out as Kakashi’s thrusts became faster.
“If I didn’t know any better, Kabuto,” Kakashi panted, “I’d say you were jealous.”
“Tch. Jealous? Of you?” he sneered. “You’re truly an idiot if you think that.”
“Oh, I don’t know about that.”
“Really, if she wants to whore herself off to other men, she’s free to do so.”
Kakashi stopped thrusting suddenly as his face darkened. I blinked and sat up. “Kakashi…?” I said softly.
“You can insult me however you like, but you have no right to insult Skyler,” he hissed, turning his cold glare onto Kabuto.
The former sound-nin backed away, a look of fear implanted on his face. But it was replaced with a sneer. “She didn’t tell you about our time spent together as sound-nin, did she? She didn’t mention that I actually went to her world for a day either, I’m sure. The truth is that you know very little about her, Kakashi, while I know much more.” He turned to look at me. “I know she has a particularly sensitive spot behind her ear. I know she has a scar on her left leg from when she was a child. I also know how much she enjoyed it when I fucked her.”
“SHUT UP!” I snapped. “Shut your goddamn mouth!”
“You see, Kakashi? You know very little about her.”
“So?” he hissed. “I love her, which is something you didn’t know. If you don’t go back into your room right now, I swear…”
“You love her? That’s funny, considering she used to be an assassin.”
“I don’t care about her past.”
“I think you do. I think talking about this has angered you.”
I suddenly grabbed my gun from the night table and fired a bullet against the wall beside Kabuto’s head. There was an unsteady silence. “I told you to shut up,” I said coldly. “Next time I won’t miss.”
“Skyler,” Kakashi warned. “Don’t be hasty.”
“I’m not. I really wanna blow his head off.”
“I know you do. But he hasn’t done anything except irritate us. That’s not a just cause for you to shoot him.”
“He has no right…”
“I know.” I sighed and lowered the gun, putting the safety back on. Kabuto looked relieved, but it was short lived. Kakashi then threw his fist back and punched him. Kabuto was unconscious in an instant. Kakashi literally threw him into the other room and closed the door. He took a deep breath and sat next to me on the bed. “He’s still a brat, even now,” he grumbled.
***
Let's skip ahead again! Wee! Um...small romantic interlude between Sky and Kakashi...and here we go...
***
I woke up to an empty bed. Sighing heavily, I sat up and saw the little note Kakashi had left me.
Had an early assignment. I should be back around midday. The brat’s still unconscious as far as I could tell. It might be best for you to feed him.
Kakashi
Feed him, he says. Yeah, I’d like to feed him. Feed him poison, that is. I put on my clothes and opened the door to Kabuto’s room. He was slumped against the wall, dried blood coming from his nose. I grabbed a towel from the bathroom and cleaned his face. “You’re such a pain,” I growled. There was a knock on the door. “Come in!” I called.
“It’s me, Sky,” Sasuke’s deep voice answered. “So how did everything…” his eyes widened when he saw Kabuto on the floor “…go?” He sighed while placing his hand against his forehead in irritation. “I knew you couldn’t stand him, but on the first night, Sky?”
“Hey, it wasn’t me,” I snarled. “Kakashi’s the one who punched him.”
He lifted an eyebrow. “I probably shouldn’t ask. Anyway, I was just coming by to see how our old friend was doing. Seems Tsunade-sama was a bit careless when choosing you and Kakashi to watch over him.”
“No, it’s a good setup,” I smirked.
“You aren’t being too harsh on him, right? I did see the bullet hole on the wall and I’m pretty sure that wasn’t always there.”
“So I threatened him,” I shrugged as I stood up. “He was asking for it.”
“Sure.”
“Was there another reason you stopped by?”
“Oh yeah, that reminds me.” He dug into his pant pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. “Sakura asked me to give this to you.”
“What is it?”
“I don’t know, but she’s had me delivering these to every girl she knows in Konoha,” he grumbled. I curiously took it from him and opened it. I smiled broadly. “What?”
“Tell her I’d be honored to come.”
“Honored to come to what?”
I handed him the note and watched as he read it through. “A baby shower?”
“I think it’s kinda funny that your own wife neglected to tell you when her baby shower was.”
He blushed furiously. “Yeah, laugh it up. So I’m a little slow in that department.” Kabuto groaned from the floor suddenly. Sasuke stared down at him coldly. “I would really like to kick him,” he mumbled.
“Go ahead, I won’t stop you,” I replied.
“Nah, I’ll leave that to you if he tries anything. See you later.” He waved as he walked out the door. I looked down at the silver-haired ninja before me. I knelt in front of him and waited for him to open his eyes.
“AAAAAAHHHH!” he cried when he saw me kneeling before him. “DON’T EVER DO THAT TO SOMEONE!” He clutched his chest tightly as sweat poured down his face.
I smiled cruelly. “I figured it was a good way of helping you wake up.”
“You’re not human…”
“Now’s not a good time for insults, Kabuto.”
He pouted as he sat at the table. He really was like a little kid. And to think he was in his mid-20s. “How do you put up with him?” he said angrily.
“Who?”
“Kakashi.”
“Easy. He cares about me, unlike you.”
“Is he better than I am?”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard.”
I bit my lip. “I can’t answer that.”
“Why not? You’ve obviously had sex with him a lot. And I’m pretty sure we had it more than five times. That’s more than enough information to see which of us is better, isn’t it?”
“I am not discussing my sex life with you.”
“It’s no surprise your family didn’t want you to stay with them. You probably annoy them to the point of insanity.”
“Shut up.”
“If you miss them so much, why didn’t you just stay there?”
“Like I said before…this world is more accepting. I was able to find peace here.” I finished making breakfast and served him the plate. “Here you go.”
“It’s not poisoned, is it?” he asked skeptically.
I frowned. “What kind of person do you take me for?”
“A homicidal maniac.”
“Funny, that’s what I considered you as.”
He poked at the food and sighed. “Look, about last night…”
“Just eat.”
“Skyler…” I glared at him. “…fine.”

Who would have thought babysitting (because that’s what it felt like Kakashi and I were doing) Kabuto would be so difficult? He whined if he didn’t get attention (mainly my attention); he would glare at Kakashi whenever the opportunity arose; he insulted Sasuke in front of me, which pissed me off to no end; and he liked to bring up times when he and I spent ‘alone time’ together. It was truly becoming annoying and I wanted desperately to just shoot him and be done with him.
Sadly, Tsunade-sama refused. Sasuke was all for it, but he had to obey the Hokage. Kakashi…well…I knew he didn’t like Kabuto, so I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have minded if I suddenly went crazy one day and just shot the former sound-nin. So to sum it all up: Kabuto was an annoying bastard and I wanted to shoot him.
Currently, I was walking with him down the streets of Konoha. He wanted to go ‘explore the village’ for some reason. And since Kakashi was out on another mission (damn him), I was left alone with Kabuto. Joy. People were staring at not only him, but me, mainly because I was holding my gun so tightly it could have possibly shattered in my hand. For some reason, his little smiles irked me. Every time he laughed and pointed to something interesting, he’d flash me his bishounen smile. All the other women swooned. I just wanted to knock him unconscious.
“Isn’t today a lovely day?” he said suddenly, taking me from my murderous thoughts. I looked up at the sky and regrettably had to agree with him. We had had none stop sunshine for the past few days, which was nice since it was supposed to be the rainy season for us. “Why do you still carry your gun, Skyler? I’m not going to attack you.”
I glared at him. “I feel safer when I have it.”
“Safer against what?”
“Doesn’t matter.”
There was a pause. “You hate me, don’t you?”
“What was your first clue?” I snapped.
He tensed ahead of me but kept walking. “I…never hated you,” I heard him mumble. The part of me that was nice and kind instantly felt guilty for being so rude to him. But the professional part of me washed away the guilt and replaced it with malice.
“That’s a shocker,” I said sarcastically. “I’m touched, Kabuto. Really.”
He turned around, narrowing his dark eyes. “Don’t mock me.”
“You can’t do anything here, Kabuto. Not unless you want the Hokage to grant you absolute freedom.” I saw his fists clench and smirked. “Have I made you mad?”
“Mad? No. Far from it.”
“Really? ‘Cause you seem pretty pissed off where I’m standing.”
“Then stand somewhere else.”
“Is there a problem here?” Both of us turned. Talk about good timing. Sasuke was slowly walking towards us.
Without a warning, I happily ran up to him and ruffled his hair playfully. “Sasuke-chan!” I cried.
He blushed and pushed me away. “How many times have I told you not to do that, Sky? Jeez…” He brushed himself off and glared at Kabuto. “Hey.”
Kabuto’s eyes narrowed. “If it isn’t the Uchiha brat.”
Sasuke’s face remained expressionless. “If it isn’t Orochimaru’s bitch.” I tried to stop my laugh, but I ended up almost choking myself. Kabuto flushed red but said nothing. Sasuke had the upper hand over him now and he knew it. It had been different back at Orochimaru’s castle. “You weren’t hurting Skyler…were you?” he hissed, his eyes activating to his Sharingan.
“I’ve learned my lesson to leave her alone,” Kabuto answered. “Kakashi already gave me a warning.” He pointed to his jaw, which was still slightly swollen from when Kakashi had punched him the other night.
“Hmm…remind me to thank him later.” He turned to me and frowned. “I thought I told you to keep that gun hidden so as not to scare the villagers. I’ve been getting some complaints from parents already. They don’t like you bringing that thing out in public.”
“I’m sorry, but it’s my only weapon if he tries anything.”
“Sky, look at him,” he growled. “Does he honestly look like he’s going to attack you?”
“Honestly? Yeah.”
“Skyler…”
“I’m serious, Sasuke. I don’t trust him. I was a fool to trust him before.”
He sighed heavily. “I realize you would like nothing more than to blow his body parts all over Konoha, but you need to think of others before yourself. So please, put the gun away.”
I hesitated but eventually holstered it against my hip. “You’re such a law-abiding person now, little brother,” I teased.
“My job requires it, as does yours. Oh, that’s right. Sakura wanted me to remind you that the baby shower is this weekend, so don’t forget.”
“A baby shower?” Kabuto repeated. “Why, congratulations, Sasuke-kun.”
Sasuke glared hatefully at him but said nothing. “I’ll be seeing you, Sky.”
“Let’s go home,” I said to Kabuto. “Kakashi’s mission should be over soon and I want to be back in time for when he returns.”
Kabuto looked resentful, but I didn’t care. As soon as we walked through the door to the apartment, a pair of strong arms encircled me from behind. “Hey,” Kakashi purred against my ear. “Did you miss me?”
“I always do,” I replied leaning up to kiss him. I heard a cough from Kabuto’s direction and saw him glaring at us. His face was red and his fists were clenching so tightly I was sure I could see blood. “Something wrong?”
“You two do this on purpose, don’t you?” he spat. “You make sure I’m in the room when you start sucking each other’s faces dry! You like making me angry! You want to see how much I can take before I burst!”
“Not everything is about you, Kabuto,” I started, but he cut me off.
“Shut up! You want the truth?! Fine, here’s the truth!” He was in front of me within seconds. I had no time to move as he grabbed my face with his hands and placed a rough kiss on my lips, tongue and all. I was too stunned to push him away, which was why I was thankful Kakashi had been there to stop him. Otherwise, I was sure I would still be kissing him. Kabuto wiped the blood from his lip as he smirked at Kakashi. “What? Didn’t like me kissing your woman?”
“You’ve crossed dangerous territory, brat,” Kakashi said coolly.
They probably would have torn each other to pieces if I hadn’t come to my senses at that point. I latched onto Kakashi’s waist and pulled him back. “Don’t,” I mumbled.
“But…he…”
“I know. I’ll deal with it later.”
His expression softened. “All right.”
How I would deal with Kabuto later was what puzzled me for the rest of the night.
***
Well...Skyler goes into Kabuto's room in the middle of the night...lets her emotions get the better of her (*gasp* bad Skyler!) and she and Kabuto sleep together. O.o WHY would I be so mean to Kakashi? Because, unfortunately, happy endings aren't my forte and the story needed some more drama. Plus, I was feeling kind of sad when writing this so writing a depressed and guilt-ridden Skyler was good therapy. Kakashi actually heard them (*double gasp*) so he knows and this makes Skyler even guiltier. So she takes a shower and screams out her frustration. Kakashi joins her and forgives her (what a sweetheart ^-^) and knows it was a mistake between her and Kabuto. They make a little love and boom! Everything's okay...sort of.
***
We both grabbed towels to wrap around ourselves. I opened the bathroom door and nearly dropped my towel when I saw Sasuke standing in the middle of the room. Kakashi and I stood still in the doorway as Sasuke blushed furiously and turned his head away. “I…just came by to see how things were going with Kabuto,” he mumbled.
“Things are…fine,” I said, remembering last night.
“Fine enough for him to be let loose into society?”
“Um…I’m not sure.”
This time he turned around with a glare, that didn’t look all that intimidating because he was still blushing. “Skyler, I need to report to the Hokage about his progress. He’s not picking out people to dissect, is he?”
“No.”
“Then why aren’t you sure?”
“Because…my judgment might be biased.”
He sighed. “Kakashi…do you have anything to add?”
Kakashi seemed to be using my head to block his face. What was with him and hiding his face? “Kabuto is not as dangerous as he was and I personally don’t think he’d be a danger to the people of the village. However, he seems to…have some unresolved feelings for Skyler and I think that may be why she can’t decide what to do with him.”
Sasuke’s eyes widened. “Is this true, Sky?”
I nodded, avoiding his piercing stare. “He confessed last night. I was so shocked and confused.”
“You can’t keep him locked up here forever.”
“I know.”
“I have no reports from you saying that he’s a lethal weapon, so I’m going to the Hokage for his release papers. He’s going to be a free man.”
“I thought you couldn’t stand him, little brother.”
“I can’t. But, orders are orders. Oh yeah, and see you tomorrow.”
He left without another word. “Tomorrow?” Kakashi asked. “What’s tomorrow?”
“Sakura’s baby shower,” I replied.
“She’s pregnant? Since when?”
I rolled my eyes. “Men…”
***
I wasn’t sure how to go about telling Kabuto that he would be a free man in a few short hours. I wasn’t even sure if I was happy or angry. I knocked on his door before walking in. He was in the middle of putting on his shirt when I said, “Looks like you’re a free man now.”
He stopped and blinked at me. “What?”
“Sasuke stopped by this morning…he asked for a report on your behavior. It was good, so he’s gone to the Hokage to have you released from our surveillance.”
“That’s…That’s good.” He pulled his shirt on the rest of the way. “You’re not happy about this, are you?”
“No. After everything you put me through…I can’t just forget, Kabuto.”
“You did last night.”
I blushed. “Last night was a mistake.”
“Is that what Kakashi wants you to believe?” he sneered.
“No,” I hissed. “It was a mistake. I love Kakashi and nothing is ever going to change that.”
He narrowed his eyes. “I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who was so undecided about her life before.”
“And I don’t think I’ve ever met a man who lied and tricked people like you have.”
“I wasn’t lying last night.”
“Bullshit. All those sweet words you mumbled meant nothing and you know it. Someone like you can’t fall in love with someone like me.”
He looked hurt when I said that; as though my words had sliced through his heart. “Fine. Then I’ll just pack my things and be on my way. And we’ll never have to see each other again.”
“Fine by me.”
***
Seeing Kabuto leave hurt me more than I could ever tell Kakashi or Sasuke. There was just something about the silver-haired medic-nin that I found oddly appealing and I knew I would never forget him. The next day came much too quickly. I hadn’t heard of where Kabuto would be staying now that he was a free man. Kakashi had been called to the Hokage’s office for an assignment, so I made my way to the Uchiha estate by myself. I caught sight of Hinata Uzumaki and her husband Naruto and ran up to them.
“Hey! Hinata! Naruto!” I called.
Both turned around with wide smiles. “Skyler nee-chan!” Naruto grinned. “You heading over for the baby shower too?”
“Yeah. But aren’t baby showers strictly for women, Naruto?” I teased.
He shrugged. “I don’t think Sakura-chan or Sasuke-teme will care.”
“How have you been, Hinata?” I asked the shy Hyuuga heiress.
“I-I’ve been well, Skyler-san,” she replied. “And you?”
“Eh, I’ve been all right. I’ve had my hands tied for the past week watching over Kabuto Yakushi though.”
Naruto’s expression turned sour instantly. “I heard from Kakashi-sensei that he had to live with you two until he was okayed by Tsunade no baa-chan.”
“Yep…that was yesterday. Sasuke came by and said he was going to have Kabuto released as a free man since he hadn’t done anything bad. Anyway, enough about him. Any hopes that you’ll be the baby’s godfather, Naruto?”
He smirked. “I better be.” He suddenly caught sight of someone and started waving frantically. “OI!!! INO! SHIKAMARU!”
I turned and smiled when I saw the blonde and brunette slowly walking towards us. “Do you have to be so loud, Naruto?” Shikamaru sighed. “You’re still so troublesome.”
“Hey you two,” I waved.
“Skyler-san!” Ino cried excitedly. “I was hoping you’d be going to this baby shower.”
“Yeah. I couldn’t miss it.”
The five of us continued on our journey to the Uchiha estate, picking up Tenten and her husband Neji along the way. Sasuke seemed very shocked to see us all arriving together. “You all travel together now?” he said with a raised eyebrow.
“No, little brother,” I said ruffling his hair. Naruto snickered behind us. “We just happened to all run into each other on the way here.”
“Whatever. Sakura’s inside waiting for all the girls.”
“And what about you?”
He pouted. “She kicked me out and told me to entertain the guys.”
“Haha! Sakura-chan has you whipped, Sasuke!” Naruto crowed.
Sasuke glared at him. “Idiot. If you shut up, I’ll buy you ramen.”
The blonde instantly hushed up and waved to his wife. “Bye, Hinata! Have fun! Ano sa! Ano sa! Sasuke, when are gonna get the ramen?”
The last thing I heard from Neji before going inside was, “How can he have so much energy this early in the morning?”
***
“Congratulations, Sakura,” I said giving her a warm hug. “Do you and Sasuke have any idea what the gender will be?”
“No, but we’re hoping it’s a boy,” she smiled. “What about you and Kakashi-sensei? Planning on marrying anytime soon? Maybe starting a family?”
I blushed. “T-That’s bold of you, Sakura. But no…we haven’t talked about it. It crossed my mind though.”
“You two should marry,” Ino added. “You’re an adorable couple.”
“T-Thanks.”
“From what Sasuke tells me, you and Kakashi-sensei get along very well,” Sakura said teasingly.
“Oh no, he told you about yesterday morning?”
“Yep.”
“What happened?” Tenten asked.
“Well…um…Kakashi and I were just getting out of the shower and when we opened the bathroom door, Sasuke was right there in front of us. It was a bit embarrassing.”
“It’s all right,” Sakura continued. “That happened to Sasuke and I once. We were getting out of the bathroom and there was Naruto. It took him almost a week to shut up about it.”
The rest of us laughed. “Oh man! I can just picture that too,” I chuckled. “Boy, Hinata, that man of yours sure is funny.”
She blushed slightly.
“So Sakura,” Ino interrupted. “Do you and Sasuke have a name picked out for the baby yet?”
“No, not yet. Once I’m a little more farther along, then we’ll start looking at names.”
The rest of the baby shower went by fairly quickly. When it was time to leave, I gave Sakura another hug and waited outside with the other girls for the men to return. I could see Sasuke trudging towards us, the rest of the guys behind him. “Have fun?” I said with a grin.
Sasuke glared at me. “If you’ve ever spent three hours with Naruto, you’ll know the answer to that,” he snarled.
“Hey! I’m not that bad!” Naruto exclaimed.
“But you admit that you have problems.”
The blonde pouted and puffed out his cheeks. “I’ve matured over the years.”
“Not really,” Neji pointed out.
“What a troublesome guy,” Shikamaru sighed.
The rest of us laughed. Hinata smiled as she took Naruto’s hand in her own. “Ne, at least Hinata still loves me,” he grinned. He bent down to kiss her cheek affectionately. I was pleased to see that Hinata didn’t blush; instead, she giggled slightly and leaned against him.
“You are truly hopeless sometimes,” Sasuke grumbled. “Now where’s my wife? I need to spend some quality time with her after spending half the morning with the idiot.”
Ino, Tenten, and I pointed inside the house. He let out a happy sigh. Before we went inside, he stopped by me and said softly, “Just thought you’d want to know that Kabuto now lives on the other side of the village, far away from both of us.”
“I see,” I replied.
“Aren’t you glad?”
“Uh…yeah. Sorry. Just thinking.”
“Not about Kakashi, I hope? Because that’s really rude: thinking about my old sensei when I’m talking to you.”
“Ha! You’re one to call someone rude, Mr. Stick Up His Ass.”
He smirked. “I’ll have you know that Sakura was able to pull the stick out just fine.”
“You know, there are some things in this world that don’t need to be mentioned. That was one of them.”
“Yeah, I second that!” Naruto interrupted.
Sasuke’s smirk widened. “Whatever. Ja, Skyler.”
Once he went inside, I felt no more need to hang around the Uchiha estate. I said my goodbyes and started to make my way home. I spotted a familiar head of silver hair, but it wasn’t the person I wanted to see. I tried to walk past him without him noticing, but at that moment he turned around and our eyes met. He was carrying a bag of what looked like groceries.
“Skyler,” he said coolly.
“Kabuto,” I answered. “Shopping for your new home?”
“Yeah.” He looked away. “Was the baby shower fun?”
“How did—?”
“I was there when the brat mentioned it.”
“He’s not a brat. But yes, the baby shower was fun.”
“Ever thought of having kids?”
When did this suddenly become personal? “Not really,” I said shrugging. “My little brother was a handful, so I dunno.”
“Does he want kids?”
“Kakashi?” He stiffened at the name. “Nah, I can’t picture him as a father. Not now at least. He had Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke as his students so I don’t think he’s too fond of kids.”
“Well, I can’t say I blame him. Annoying little leeches they are.”
I smiled, despite telling myself not to. “I guess that answers my question if you wanted kids.”
His lips turned up slightly. “I’ve got enough trouble looking after myself. Children would just be a hassle.”
“Remind me again how we got on this subject?” We were standing a few feet away from each other in a busy street. We must have looked odd to passersby. “Um…do you need help with your shopping?” I said without thinking.
He blinked. “If it’s not too much trouble.”
“Kakashi’s not due back until late tonight anyway, so I’ve got plenty of time.”
He smiled. “Thanks.” I took two of the bags from him and began walking with him down the street. “Why are you being so nice?”
“I don’t like holding grudges.”
“That was a horrible lie, Skyler.”
I grinned sheepishly. “I guess…I feel kinda guilty about what I said to you.”
There was an uneasy pause as we walked. “So have you and Kakashi been busy since I left?”
I blushed. “I can’t take a shower now without him climbing in behind me and kissing me senseless.”
“Sounds nice.”
“Yeah.” I could see he looked uncomfortable and changed the subject. “So…um…find anyone lately?”
Kabuto stared at me as though I were insane. “You mean, like a girlfriend?” I nodded. “No. With my past reputation not many women are going to come bounding towards me.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure,” I mumbled, seeing a few women gawking at him as he walked.
“Besides, I don’t really want anyone. I’m fine by myself.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. It’s difficult, but I don’t mind.”
“I just realized we’re actually having a pleasant conversation.”
He chuckled. “Yes, I guess we are.” His home was a lot farther than I had expected. As he fumbled with the key and the grocery bags in his arms, I casually took the bags from him and smiled at his confused expression. “T-Thanks,” he muttered and opened the door. It was a very plain apartment, consisting of one bed, a small kitchen and a small bathroom. I placed the groceries on the counter in the kitchen. “It’s pathetic, right?” he said.
“No. I like it,” I replied.
“Liar.” I caught the grin on his face. “When did you say Hatake was returning tonight?”
“Pretty late, apparently.”
“So you’re free for the rest of the afternoon?”
“Yeah…”
“Would you like to stay and have dinner with me later?”
I blinked in surprise. “Um…”
“You don’t have to. I just thought it’d be nicer to dine with company.”
“Sure.”
“What?”
“I’ll stay. You always did have good cooking.”
His cheeks turned pink. “Thanks.”

Ooooooh. There is some tension! Okay, the next part is veeeeery intimate and contains a lemon scene. So I will not post it. Basically, Skyler and Kabuto get it on...again. *shakes head* Skyler, you are just so bad. =P
***
I felt very dirty and hoped that Kakashi wouldn’t want sex as soon as he got in the door. I ran all the way back home, hoping against hope that he wouldn’t be waiting for me. He was late everywhere else, but for some reason, with me, he was early. When I opened the door, I breathed a sigh of relief. He wasn’t back yet.
I walked into the bathroom and decided to take a shower. The water felt good against my skin. I began to furiously scrub myself clean. When I was done, I turned the water off, grabbed a towel, and stepped out. Kakashi still wasn’t back and I was beginning to worry. It was really late. Had something gone wrong on his mission? I shook my head. No, Kakashi was fine. Maybe he was talking with someone…Yeah.
But midnight came and he still wasn’t back. I tried to fall asleep, hoping that maybe he’d come back and wake me up, but I was too stressed. I sat at the kitchen table, sipping some tea and staring at the pictures on the counter. There was one of Kakashi’s team as a child, one of Team 7 and himself, there was a picture I had brought back with me of my family, a picture of Sasuke and Sakura’s wedding day, as well as Naruto and Hinata’s, and the last picture contained the two of us. He was holding me in his arms. He had his mask on but I could tell by the way his eye curled upwards that he was smiling.
A knock at the door took me from my thoughts. Now fully alert, I went to open the door. I wasn’t prepared for the sight before me. Kakashi was hunched over on the railing, trailing and dripping blood everywhere. I could see a wound in his abdomen. “Kakashi!” I cried. “My god! What happened to you?” I helped him into the apartment.
“Yo,” he said with a wince. “We were ambushed,” he explained.
“Really, I couldn’t have guessed,” I said sarcastically. “Why haven’t you been treated for this wound? Did you go to the hospital?”
“Well…no. I don’t like hospitals.”
I sighed and rolled my eyes. “Stubborn old man.” I examined the wound and bit my lip. “Tsunade-sama or Sakura would know more about healing you right now. But it’s so late. I don’t want to bother them.”
“Then don’t. I’ll be fine.”
“No you will not. If we wait any longer, it will become infected. I’m not even a medic and I know that.”
“Skyler, stop worrying. I’ve had worse injuries than this.”
“I don’t care. I’m bringing you to Sakura.”
“She won’t be happy.”
“I’m not happy.”
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he was grinning behind his mask. I used a teleportation jutsu to get us to the Uchiha estate faster. I banged on the door until I heard footsteps. “Who the hell is it?” I heard Sasuke grumble. “It’s damn late…”
“It’s me, Sasuke,” I said. “This is an emergency. Kakashi’s wounded.”
“I don’t give a shit if you hurt him in bed. Go home…”
“It’s not a sex injury!” I snapped.
Sasuke opened the door fully, blinking his dark eyes. He looked over at Kakashi before his eyes widened. “Damn, that’s a deep cut. What kind of mission were you on, Kakashi?”
“Nothing spectacular,” he replied wincing.
“I was hoping Sakura could heal him,” I added.
“Uh…sure. Hold on.” He led us through the house.
Sakura came out of what I assumed was their bedroom, yawning and holding a robe around herself. “Sasuke, who was it?”
“Kakashi needs treatment,” he answered. Her green eyes widened as she saw the state of her old sensei.
“Kakashi-sensei!” she exclaimed. “How did you get that wound?”
“Long story,” he said.
“I’m sorry for coming here so late,” I muttered.
“Nonsense. You couldn’t just leave this untreated anyway.” I was very grateful that Sakura was such an accomplished medic-nin. It took very little time for her to heal him. “I suggest not doing anything strenuous for awhile,” she told him. She looked at us both firmly. “Which means no sex.”
“I never considered sex a strenuous activity,” Kakashi said thoughtfully. I hit him on the arm lightly. I was actually kind of relieved. After the incredible time I had had with Kabuto, I wasn’t sure I was up for another round with Kakashi.
Sasuke smirked at him. “Try to control yourself, sensei.”
“Oh hush, you.”
***
“So no sex,” Kakashi murmured once we got back to our apartment. “Sure you can hold out?”
I smirked. “I believe I should be asking you that, hentai.”
His visible eye curved up in a way that told me that he was grinning underneath his mask. “It’ll be tough.”
“Hmm.” I curled up next to him in the bed, wrapping my arms around his waist. “I can wait.”
“Once I get the OK though, you better watch out.”
I chuckled and lowered his mask to kiss his lips. “Yes sir, you wild animal.” I started to press soft kisses along his jaw line. “Hey Kakashi…I have a question.”
“Hmm? What is it?”
“Would you ever…consider having a family?”
He turned his head to look at me curiously. “You mean with you?”
I blushed. “Well…yeah, I guess.”
“It’s crossed my mind.”
“Well?” I pressed.
“I see no reason why not. If that’s what you want…”
“No, I wanna make sure you want it too, Kakashi.”
He frowned. “It doesn’t matter what I want, Skyler. I already have you. In all honesty, that’s enough for me right now.”
“So you don’t want to maybe possibly have a child with me someday?” I blurted out.
“I didn’t say that.” He rolled over onto his side and kissed me gently. “I’m saying that I like how things are between us right now and if they should escalate into something much more in the future, then I’m all for it.”
“I love you, Kakashi,” I said suddenly.
He blinked and smiled. “I love you too, Sky.” He kissed my forehead. “Don’t dwell on this too much. If it’s gonna happen, it’ll happen. So don’t worry.”
“Hai,” I whispered before closing my eyes and falling asleep.
***
I wasn’t in the best of moods during the next couple days. Because Kakashi was still recovering, he wasn’t allowed to go on missions, which meant he had to stay home. In other words, I had to take care of him until he was perfectly healthy. At first, he was completely against the idea of being stuck at home. He hated not being able to train or read his favorite perverted books. But eventually, he must have realized the bright side to all this: Skyler will do whatever I say, when I say it. And so, I was his ‘slave’, so to speak.
When he wanted breakfast, he got it. When he wanted to read that stupid Icha Icha series, I would give him the requested book without complaining. If he wanted a massage, my hands were free. If he needed to take a bath, I was there to assist him. But there was one thing I refused to do.
“No,” I spat.
“But Skyler—”
“I said no.”
“If I do it myself I might strain something.”
“Like what? Your hand?”
“Possibly.”
“Kakashi…”
“It really hurts, Sky…”
I counted to ten in my head and turned around to glare at him. “I am not helping you jerk off!” I growled.
“Please?”
“No!”
“I’d help you if you were in my position.”
“I don’t care! The answer is no!”
I felt him sit down beside me. I glanced over at him, but my traitorous eyes looked down and saw the tent in his pants. I furiously turned my head away. Damn perverted old man.

I heard the front door open and there stood Sasuke. I couldn’t even imagine how embarrassing it must have been for him, seeing his ‘older sister’ with her hand down his former sensei’s pants. Gah.
“I-I see you’re busy. I guess I’ll come back later,” he said quickly and turned to leave.
“Wait! Sasuke!” I called, taking my hand from Kakashi’s pants. I ignored his groan of protest. Sasuke eyed my hand warily, as if praying I didn’t touch him with it. I grinned sheepishly and washed it in the sink with soap and water. “I’m sorry you had to see that. He just needed…um…”
“I understand,” he mumbled with a blush. “I should know better than to just barge in here anyway. I never know what I’ll walk in on.”
“I didn’t want to, Sasuke. But we haven’t had sex in almost a week. It’s as close as we’re gonna get right now.”
“I see. Anyway, I was just coming by to see if Kakashi was healing all right…and it appears that he’s had an excellent…helper.” He gave me a smirk. “Makes me curious what Sakura would do if I suddenly was incapacitated for a week.”
“She’s not the type to just roll over and do what you tell her to.”
“You’d be surprised what a few kisses to the neck will do to her.”
“More information than I needed to know, Sasuke.”
He winked. “I’ll tell Sakura that you’re healing…extremely well, Kakashi,” he sneered. “Ja ne.”
I closed the door and shook my head. “That’s the second time he’s walked in on us.”
“The kid must be loving it,” Kakashi said with a laugh.
“More like being haunted by it. His poor eyes.”
“He’ll live. He was my student after all.”
“Oh, so is that where his perverted-ness comes from?” I said smiling.
“Most likely.”
“Kakashi, how is your wound anyway?”
He rubbed his abdomen. “It’s still healing, but hopefully I’ll be able to start moving around more in the next few days.”
“You don’t mind if I go buy some groceries, right?” I said suddenly. “We’re kinda low on some stuff.”
“Go ahead. I’m not stopping you.”
“You sure you’ll be all right?”
“I can’t exactly go anywhere, Sky.”
I laughed. “True. Well then I’ll be back.” I kissed him on the mouth before going out the door. It was a semi-nice day, complete with blue skies and puffy white clouds. I started my walk down the streets, looking for the things I knew we needed. I spotted one of Hinata’s former teammates walking towards me and waved. It was the bug master, Shino. “Hey,” I greeted. He gave no indication of wanting to speak. He merely nodded his head. His hands were stuffed in the pockets of his jacket. “How are you?”
“I’ve been well,” he said quietly. “And you?”
“Pretty good.”
“I heard that Kakashi is unable to go on missions for awhile.”
“Yeah. He got injured badly, so Sakura told him to take it easy for a bit.”
I picked up an apple and looked at it closely to make sure there was nothing wrong with it. “That one isn’t ripe,” Shino mumbled. “Try the one on the left.”
“Um…okay.” I wasn’t about to question him. He was very smart and could probably tell healthy food from unhealthy food a lot better than I could. I picked up the said apple, looked it over, and smiled. “You’re right. This one looks a lot riper. Thanks, Shino.”
He gave me a nod. “Do you need any more help shopping?”
I blinked. “Actually, that’d be a big help. You don’t mind?”
“I have nothing going on today.”
He may have been quiet and a bug freak, but he was extremely kind. So we scoured the different food sections, finding exactly what I needed. Once we were done, I thanked Shino and began to make my way back home. I saw Kabuto about halfway and offered him a smile. “I haven’t seen you much lately,” he said.
“Yeah, Kakashi got injured on his last mission and Sakura told him no strenuous activities. So he’s been at home for the past few days.”
“He must love that.”
“He only loves that I’m there at his convenience,” I pouted.
“Meaning…?”
“That whatever he wants, I provide.”
“So he asked you to go shopping for groceries?”
“Huh? Oh, no, this was my idea. We needed food.” I smiled sheepishly. “So how’ve you been?”
“Lonely.” He walked closer to me, but I pulled away.
“Kabuto…”
“Yeah, yeah.”
“You should find someone. I’m sure there’s a nice girl in Konoha waiting for you.”
“But I already found a nice girl in Konoha.”
It took me awhile to figure out that he meant me. “Kabuto,” I said warningly. “Please stop.”
“What’s so bad about me liking you, Skyler?”
“It’s bad because I can’t like you back. I love someone else. I don’t want you to keep pining away for me.”
“Hey, it’s my choice to pine for you.”
“Yeah, but I don’t want you pining for me. It’s unnerving and makes me feel guilty.”
“About what?”
“About not being able to love you back.”
He was silent for a bit. “So have you had sex with him at all since we…?”
“No, because he was injured that same night,” I explained. “I don’t intend to tear his stomach open just to have sex with him.”
“Ah. So you haven’t had sex with him for what? Five days?”
“Just about,” I sighed. “Although he did ask me to help him jerk off this morning. Poor Sasuke walked in on us.”
Kabuto snorted. “He has a habit of walking in at the wrong times.”
“Yeah.”
“I’ll guess I’ll be seeing you, Skyler.” We had been walking and talking and I hadn’t even realized that we were in front of the apartment. Kabuto hesitantly leaned over and kissed my cheek. I blushed slightly but tried to act like I wasn’t affected at all.
“Bye,” I murmured, hurrying up the steps to the door. I opened the door to see Kakashi in bed reading his perverted book.
“Hey,” he greeted. “Once I’m healed there are a few things I’d like to try out with you.”
“They wouldn’t happen to be some random erotic positions from that book, would they?” I snarled.
“They sound like fun. See?” He handed me the book against my will and had me read a certain line. My face turned red.
“Kakashi, there is no way my body can do that. I’m not that flexible.”
“There are others to choose from.”
“You’re really serious about this.” It was unusual to see him so excited over something like sex, but I guess he was sick and tired of us doing it in the same position half the time. I felt myself cave in and sighed. “Can I see what others there are?”
He blinked in confusion before smiling and handing me the book. I flipped through some pages and looked over the different positions. Some even included pictures. I lot of them were very bondage-related. Kakashi and I weren’t really into that. Although the idea of strapping him to the bedpost with leather gave me some interesting ideas…
I pointed to one of the positions, my face burning in embarrassment. He looked it over and smirked. “Really?”
“Why not?” I said softly. “It looks…interesting.”
“You sure you’d be comfortable doing it?”
I bit my lip. “Not comfortable, per se, but I think I can do it.”
Kakashi grabbed me by the waist and pulled me into his lap. “I really do love you,” he whispered. He pressed his mouth to mine hungrily. All coherent thoughts left my brain. I was craving him, having been denied any physical contact with him for so long. I fisted my hands in his silver hair. He groaned loudly and increased the pressure on my lips. He was still healing, so I made sure not to get too close to his abdomen. “Skyler,” he mumbled suddenly.
“Hmm?”
“I thought about what you said.”
I stared at him curiously. “Yeah?”
He smiled and pressed his forehead against mine. “It’s not a bad idea. I honestly can’t imagine myself without you.” He took my hands in his. “I’d be honored if you would spend the rest of your life with me.”
I gaped at him. “I…Of course I will!” I cried happily, throwing my arms around his neck.
He laughed and wiped away the tears from my eyes. “I was worried you wouldn’t be ready.”
“I’ve been ready,” I said with a grin. “I can’t believe this! You and me…we’re engaged now, right? Or do you have to give me a ring or something?”
“Ring?”
“Uh…nothing. Just an old tradition back home.” I smiled sheepishly.
“Ah. Well, shall we go inform everyone we know?”
“Sure you can move?”
“If you got off me, I’m sure I could.”
“Oops! Sorry!” I said getting off his lap.
Kakashi put his mask back on. “I think we should first tell my team. They’d want to know.”
“Okay.”
***
“NANI?????!!!” Naruto cried. “Kakashi-sensei, you’re getting married??!!”
“Yes, for the thousandth time, Naruto,” he sighed.
“But, Skyler-nee-chan,” Naruto said turning to me. “Are you sure you can handle him? He’s not exactly—”
“Shut up, Naruto,” Sasuke spat. “They can do what they want.”
“Nobody asked you, Sasuke-teme!”
“Naruto…” Sakura growled threateningly.
“Ah, no, Sakura-chan, I didn’t mean what I said! Honest! Don’t hurt me…”
“Can’t you guys just say ‘congratulations’ like normal people?” I muttered.
“You’re forgetting they aren’t normal,” Kakashi added.
“True.”
“Owowowowowowowowow! Sakura-chan, not so rough! Sasuke! Get your wife off me! Help!!!!!”
“They’re definitely not normal,” I said with a sigh.
***
Later that day, I went to visit Kabuto. Needless to say, he was quite surprised to see me. “Skyler, this is a nice surprise,” he said smiling. “To what do I owe this sudden visit?”
I bit my lip. “We’re engaged, Kakashi and I,” I said softly.
The expression on his face looked as if I had ripped his heart out. “Wait…What?” he growled. “You’re joking, right?”
“No, Kabuto. I wanted to tell you before rumors started spreading.”
His eyes narrowed behind his glasses. “So spending time with me was a leisure activity for you? Have you no feelings for me at all?”
“I…”
“Skyler, I don’t think there’s any other way for me to show you how much I care about you! I’ve told you directly and we’ve slept together! What more should I do to make you understand?”
“Kabuto, I love Kakashi!” I snapped. “It’s over between you and me! I’m sorry…”
“Sorry…?” He gave me a sneer. “Yeah, I get it. I spill my heart out to you and you just stomp on it.”
“Why can’t you be happy for me?”
“Because I’m not happy for you! I want you for myself! I met you first! I was the first person you saw when you came to this world!”
“I—”
“Ironic how I’ll be the last person you see from this world.”
“What?” I said. I saw him making familiar hand signs. My eyes widened. “No! Kabuto, don’t! Please! Whatever you do, don’t send me back!”
“I’m sorry, Skyler. But you don’t belong here. You never did.” I started to back away. He walked closer to me and held me against the wall. “If I can’t have you,” he whispered against my ear, “no one can.” His lips crashed down on mine and before I knew it, everything in front of me turned to darkness.
***
Normal POV:
Kabuto stared at the place where Skyler had been moments before. He touched his lips gently and smiled sadly. “I loved you too much to hand you over to someone else,” he mumbled. “Now he can’t have you.” He slumped against the wall as he felt tears building up. Oh god, what have I done?
***
Kakashi felt a jolt in his heart and looked up. Hmm…odd. It felt as though I just lost a piece of myself or something. “Kakashi-sensei?” Naruto said loudly. “What are you waiting for? Let’s go! Skyler-nee-chan could already be at the meeting point!”
The silver-haired Jounin frowned behind his mask. “You felt it too, huh?” Sasuke mumbled. “Something’s not right. Where did you say Skyler was headed?”
“She was going to tell an old friend…about…Dammit. I can’t believe I didn’t realize who she meant sooner.”
“What? You think it’s him?”
“Of course. That’s why she didn’t tell us directly.”
Sasuke had never liked seeing his teacher worry. He placed a hand on his shoulder and offered him a small smile. “Don’t worry about her. I’m sure she’s fine. Sky can look after herself, you know.”
“I appreciate your vote of confidence, Sasuke, but I want to check this out. If he’s hurt her in any way…”
“I’ll come with you.”
“No, stay here with Naruto and Sakura.”
“Kakashi, you’re not my sensei anymore. I’m free to do what I want. And besides, Skyler is like a sister to me. If it concerns you, it concerns me too.”
Kakashi sighed. “All right. Let’s go.”
“What’s going on?” Sakura asked, green eyes wide.
Sasuke took her into his arms and kissed her. “We’re just going to check on something. We’ll be right back.”
“Why just the two of you?” Naruto said suspiciously.
“Because it concerns Skyler,” Kakashi explained. “We have no more time to lose. You coming, or what, Sasuke?”
The raven-haired ninja nodded. The two began leaping from building to building. “Kabuto’s apartment is just a few meters away,” Sasuke stated.
Skyler, please be all right! Kakashi thought desperately.
***
Skyler’s POV:
I knew before I even opened my eyes that I was back home. I clung to my pillow and let my tears fall. I would never see anyone from Konoha again. Not Kakashi, not Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto…no one. I had wanted so desperately to see Sakura and Sasuke’s baby when it was born too. “I hate you, Kabuto,” I whispered.
“SKYYYYYYYLER!!!!” I heard my brother shouting. “GET UP OR I’M COMING IN THERE AND JUMPING ON YOU!” I didn’t care anymore. I ignored him and closed my eyes. “OKAY! YOU ASKED FOR IT!” I felt him land on my legs, but the pain was almost nothing compared to what I was feeling in my heart. “Hey Sky, are you okay?” Liam asked softly.
“No, I’m not okay,” I answered. “I was just taken from the love of my life.”
“Huh?”
I smiled sadly. “If I tell you, promise not to laugh?”
“Sure.”
“Well, there’s this other world see, and…”
***
Normal POV:
Kakashi and Sasuke broke down the apartment door. “Skyler!” Sasuke called. “Where are you?” He spotted Kabuto sitting on the floor and stomped over to him. “Where the fuck is she?!” he hissed, pulling the silver-haired medic to his feet. Kabuto merely gave him a smile. “Don’t be a smartass with me, Kabuto!”
“You just missed her,” he replied.
“Where did she go?”
“Home.”
Sasuke activated his Sharingan. “What do you mean ‘home’?”
Kakashi let out a gasp from behind him. “You don’t mean you…?” He walked closer to Kabuto and looked him in the eyes. The medic merely smiled. “You bastard!” Kakashi suddenly slammed him against the wall, holding his neck tightly. “Why would you do that?!”
“Wait, what did he do?” Sasuke said in alarm.
“He sent her back to her world; her home!”
“He what?”
“Answer me, brat! Why did you send her back?!”
“She didn’t belong here,” Kabuto replied. Kakashi punched him. “What? Don’t like hearing the truth?”
“She didn’t want to go back to her world,” he spat. “You knew that. So why?”
“Because I love her. And if I can’t have her, no one can.”
“You sick fuck!” Sasuke hissed. “She had friends here! She had a life here; a future! Why would you make her miserable by sending her away?!”
“She’s better off.”
“Bring. Her. Back,” Kakashi said threateningly. “I know you can do it.”
Kabuto gave him a sneer. “Give me one good reason why I should do anything you say, Kakashi.”
“I might not kill you.”
“Same goes for me,” Sasuke added.
Kabuto rolled his eyes. “Why can’t you just let her stay in her world with her own family? You must be really selfish to want to take her away from them.”
“She said herself that she didn’t mind leaving them behind,” Kakashi growled. “I never would have guessed that you could be so jealous, Kabuto.”
The medic glared at him. “If you want her so bad, why don’t you go bring her back?”
“I don’t know the jutsu. If I did, I would have gone to get her ages ago.”
“Unfortunate for you then. My chakra’s awfully low.”
“You bring her back right now, or I’ll—” Sasuke started.
“Or you’ll what? Kill me? That kinda defeats the purpose, doesn’t it, Sasuke-kun?”
“Shut up!”
“Calm down, Sasuke,” Kakashi mumbled. “We’re getting nowhere if we just yell and scream at him.”
“I know but…I want my sister back,” he said softly. “I want her back.”
Kabuto studied the two males before him. Both could kill him easily, but that would do nothing to bring Skyler back. He didn’t want to forfeit his own feelings but found himself giving a deep sigh and forming the hand signs. “I have to locate her first,” he murmured. Kakashi and Sasuke watched him closely. “She’s in her house, talking with her little brother. Sure you wanna bring her back?”
Kakashi examined the scene before him. Skyler looked so sad. He could see tear stains on her cheeks. Her words were echoing as she talked to her brother. “I loved everyone so much, but Kakashi was the man who was closer to my heart than any other. I would have loved to marry him.”
“Yes, I’m sure. Do it.”
Kabuto sighed heavily and nodded. He could feel the jutsu reaching out for her. Within moments, Skyler was on the floor, blinking and staring up at them all. “What the—?”
“Onee-chan!” Sasuke cried, throwing his arms around Skyler. She held him back uncertainly. “God, I never thought I’d see you again.”
“How did I come back?”
“We threatened Kabuto.”
“We?”
Kakashi pulled her to her feet and stared into her eyes. “I knew something was wrong and went to find out. I’m so glad you’re back.” He took her into his arms, pulled his mask down, and kissed her softly. “I don’t want to lose you like that ever again.”
Skyler smiled. “So the engagement’s still on?”
“Of course.”
“Thank God.”
***
Skyler’s POV:
I could hardly believe that I was back. Kabuto was slumped against the floor, glaring at each of us. “Don’t be so angry, Kabuto,” I mumbled. “I’m sure there’s a girl out there for you somewhere.”
“Whatever.”
He was avoiding my gaze the most. I frowned and glanced back at Kakashi and Sasuke. Both shrugged their shoulders. “I guess…we’ll leave now,” I said uncertainly.
We left the apartment and began a long walk back to where the two had left Sakura and Naruto. “So do you two have a date set?” Sasuke asked casually.
“No,” we answered in unison.
I blushed slightly. “But I was thinking maybe early spring.”
“That would be nice.”
“I was hoping Sakura could be my maid of honor.”
Sasuke smiled. “I’m sure she’d love that.”
I saw Kakashi place a hand on his former student’s shoulder. “And I was hoping you could be my best man, if you’re up for it, that is.”
The Uchiha’s dark eyes widened in surprise. “Me? Are you sure you don’t want Naruto to…?”
“I like to think you and I are closer, Sasuke. But hey, if you don’t want to…”
“I didn’t say that.”
I smiled. Kakashi acted like an older brother to Sasuke more than anything. I slipped my hand into his as we walked. He turned his head to look at me. His mask stretched and I knew he was smiling. We finally caught sight of Naruto and Sakura. Sasuke kissed his wife on the cheek with a grin.
“Everything’s all right now,” he stated.
“Did something happen?” she asked.
“Not really,” I answered.
***
The months passed. Sakura’s stomach grew larger with the growing baby inside; Sasuke became a fussing father-to-be, while Kakashi and I were panicking about how many people to invite to our wedding.
“We can’t invite the whole village! I don’t even know half these people!” I cried.
“But I do,” Kakashi argued back.
“Yeah, but…that’s a lot of people, Kakashi. I thought we were just going to invite the people closest to us.”
“Skyler, Tsunade-sama is attending. We can’t invite her and not include the rest of the village.”
“But…that’s like thousands of people.”
“Your point?”
“My point is that Naruto and Sasuke’s weddings weren’t nearly as crowded!”
“They aren’t as well-known.”
“Bullshit! Sasuke’s an Uchiha! And everyone and their grandmother knows about Naruto! So don’t give me that crap about them ‘not being as well-known.’”
He sighed heavily. “So who do you want to have come?”
“The teachers that we know and their students…and obviously Tsunade-sama and Shizune. Um…I can’t think of anyone else.”
“I guess that could work.”
“Gah! I just remembered! I promised Sasuke I’d come over today and help clean the estate.”
“Why?”
“Because Sakura can’t exactly do that by herself. She needs to relax. So Sasuke and I kinda volunteered.”
Kakashi leaned over me and quickly pulled his mask down, giving me a slight grin. “Well, have fun.” He kissed me softly and pulled his mask right back on.
***
When I arrived at the Uchiha estate, Sasuke seemed irritated. Of course, he usually was irritated, but for some reason, he seemed…more irritated. That could have been due to the fact that he was wearing some kind of cleaning outfit and carrying a mop.
I blinked a few times and stifled a laugh. “I guess you already started,” I smirked.
“Shut up,” he growled.
“How’s Sakura?” I asked as I stepped inside.
“She’s fine.”
“Is she excited?”
He glared at me. “She goes through more mood swings than she used to. It’s a nightmare.”
“Sorry, but that happens.”
“I don’t like it. I just want my baby.”
“Aww! You are a nice guy at heart!” I cooed.
If possible, his glare intensified. “Sky, I’m about one tenth of second from flinging this mop at you.”
“One tenth of a second? Man, I was never good at math…”
I guess baiting Sasuke was a bad idea. As I ran through the large house screaming: “UCHIHA RAMPAGE!!” I noticed Sakura eyeing both of us creepily from her room. Now, I knew she was an expectant mother and could sometimes scare the bejeesus out of someone when she went all “I’M GONNA WHOOP YO ASS”, but from my perspective, she just wanted someone around to talk to. So I quickly ran into her room, making sure Sasuke hadn’t seen and plopped myself down on the floor.
“Hey Sakura,” I said with a smile. “How are you?”
She smiled back and patted her stomach. “I’ve been all right. Sasuke’s been very supportive.”
“Of course, you’re his wife and this is his first child.”
“The first of many,” she added.
“Oh? You guys are gonna have more than one?”
“To revive the Uchiha clan we need at least five to start off with.”
My eyes bugged out. “That’s a lot of kids.”
She shrugged. “Sasuke and I both agreed five was a good number to have. Originally he was thinking of having ten, but I refused.”
“TEN?!” I cried. “What does he think you are? A baby machine?”
“It’s okay, Skyler, really. I know he just wants what’s best for the clan.”
I was about to reply when the sliding door was thrust open. Sasuke stood before us, breathing heavily and glaring daggers at me. “Um…hey?” I said grinning.
“You. Leave. Now,” he spat.
“Sakura and me were having a conversation.”
“I don’t care. Go home, Skyler.”
“Sasuke, that’s rude.”
“Skyler…”
“Ah! Honey!” Sakura suddenly cried, grabbing her stomach. “I think my water just broke!”
“Huh?” Sasuke and I both turned to look at her.
I paled. “Shit! Sasuke, we have to take her to Tsunade immediately!”
“But—”
“C’mon!” We both leaned down to help Sakura to her feet. “You’re gonna have to carry her, Sasuke. Let’s go!” We ran out of the estate as fast as we could. By the time we made it to the Hokage’s tower, Sakura was already weak and exhausted from the contractions. We were ushered into Tsunade’s office quickly.
“Put her on the table over there,” she said. “I’m not exactly the best at birthing children, but this is for my student. Sasuke, Skyler, both of you wait outside please.”
“Can’t I stay, Tsunade-sama?” I asked.
“I’m afraid not.”
“Oh. Okay.”
“I’m sorry.”
I smiled sadly. “It’s all right.” I sat down beside Sasuke outside the office and waited. Sasuke was chewing his lip uncertainly. I was pacing back and forth. The hours went by slowly. We could hear Sakura screaming behind the door. I had to restrain Sasuke a few times and assure him that all women were that loud during labor. “You’ll make a great father,” I mumbled suddenly, after eight hours.
Sasuke stared at me with a blank look. “Yeah,” he replied softly. “Well, I hope so. I hope I’m not like my father; always too busy to spend time with his children.”
“Sasuke, from the little I know about you and the Uchihas, I’m certain you’ll be a wonderful father. Your brother was more like your father, right? I’ve learned over the years that the oldest child usually resembles the father in looks and personality. The youngest tends to look and act like their mother.”
He frowned. “My brother…he said that I looked so much like our mother.”
“What was she like?”
He smiled slightly. “She was beautiful and kind. Sometimes I wondered why she married my father. They were complete opposites. But being with Sakura has helped me figure it out.”
I placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled. “I hope Kakashi and I can have a relationship like yours and Sakura’s someday.”
Sasuke grinned. “You already do.”
The next thing we heard was silence, followed by a baby’s cry. Sasuke and I exchanged a look and smiled happily. We stood up expectantly. Tsunade opened the door to her office, wiping her brow with the back of her arm. She nodded to us both and said, “You can see her now.”
Sasuke was by his wife’s side in an instant. He kissed her gently and stared at the little bundle in her arms. I slowly walked closer, seeing tuffs of dark pink hair on the newborn’s head. “It’s a boy,” Sakura whispered.
“He has pink hair,” I stated. “Guess I was wrong, Sasuke. This kid is more like his mom.”
“I don’t care as long as he’s healthy,” he said, staring at his son fondly. “Where’s the idiot? I need to name him the godfather.”
“You mean Naruto?” I chuckled. “I could go get him if you want.”
“Thanks, Skyler. And by the way, we’ve decided we’re going to name you the godmother.”
“Really?” The two nodded. “Have you both decided on a name yet?”
Sakura and Sasuke smiled at each other. “We both thought Shousuke was a good name,” Sakura said.
I leaned closer and stared down at the pink-haired baby boy. His tiny hands were reaching up. His eyes opened up to show big dark blue orbs, just like his father’s. “I better go now. I’ll bring Naruto and Kakashi back. They deserve to see Shousuke.”
I left, smiling at the happy family. Naruto wasn’t too hard to find. He and Hinata were walking hand and hand through town when I caught up to them. “Naruto!” I called.
He turned and grinned. “Skyler-nee-chan! What’s up?”
I panted for breath while holding up my hand. “Hokage office…Sakura…Sasuke…”
“NANI??!! What happened?! Are they all right?!” I shook my head, trying to clear my head and apparently Naruto took that as a bad thing. “Shit!” He took off without another word.
“N-Naruto! Wait!” Hinata shouted. But it was too late. He was already too far ahead to hear her. “Skyler-san, if you don’t mind me asking, what happened to Sakura-san and Sasuke-san?”
“Sakura went into labor and gave birth to a little boy,” I replied.
She smiled happily. “That’s wonderful news!”
“Yeah. Anyway, you go catch up to your husband. I need to go tell Kakashi the good news.”
“Hai!” She gave a bow and hurried off to the Hokage’s tower. Once I regained my breath, I started running towards Kakashi’s apartment. I saw some strange looks thrown my way, but I didn’t care.
“Kakashi!” I said, unlocking the door and nearly collapsing on the floor. Luckily a pair of strong arms caught me before that happened. Kakashi stared down at me with concern.
“Skyler? What’s wrong?”
I took a deep breath. “Sakura gave birth…Hokage’s office,” I mumbled.
He visible widened. “Let’s go.” He helped me to my feet.
“Damn, I gotta run again,” I sighed.
Before I could say anything else, Kakashi took me into his arms bridal style. His eye turned upwards, telling me that he was smiling underneath his mask. “I’ll carry you,” he offered.
“But aren’t you still recovering from your injury?”
“It’s fine.”
I gave him a look of exasperation. “All right. But if you hurt yourself again, I’m dragging you to the hospital whether you like it or not.”
“You’re the boss,” he shrugged with a smirk.
He jumped from building to building until we reached the Hokage’s office. Tsunade smiled at us and let us into the birthing room. Hinata was talking with Sakura while Naruto was making funny faces to the newborn. Sasuke was holding Shousuke and giving his friend a reproachful look. “Knock it off, dobe,” he hissed. “You’re going to scare him.”
“No I’m not,” Naruto said defensively. “I’m trying to make him laugh.”
“You don’t have to make a face for that.”
There was a long pause, and then, “I really hate you, Sasuke.”
The Uchiha smirked triumphantly. He saw Kakashi and me. “You can come closer. We won’t bite.” Kakashi stepped closer and gave little Shousuke an affectionate pat on the head.
“He’s got pink hair,” he muttered.
“Is there a problem with that, Kakashi-sensei?” Sakura grumbled from the bed.
“Ah, no. Just making an observation.” He stared down at him again. “What’s his name?”
“Shousuke,” I whispered.
Sasuke began rocking the baby back and forth, smiling the entire time. Seeing him so happy was probably something to behold for Kakashi and Naruto.

And that's only SOME of what I've written for this story up to this point. I get ideas like crazy and write them down as quickly as possible. If the italics don't show up where they're supposed to...oh well. Okay, I'll shut up now. =P Bye bye!
