Façade
Ignoring the pain
Thinking maybe it’ll go away,
If I forget it long enough.
A happy smile,
A joyous laugh
To cover up all the shitty stuff.
Skin that burns,
When eyes are closed
My dreams are on fire.
Put on a face
That everyone loves
It suites their every desire.
Make believe
That I’m okay
No tears can ever run.
Heart that sinks
And hates to love
Lock myself away from any fun.
A mind that hides
Behind the eyes
Putting on a brave front.
No one will know
That in my mind
Emotions are on the hunt.
