'I think the problem is Florida's open doorway to the North! Those Northerners are bringing their trash into Florida so the solution is not to have laws, but to dig a river. A river of hope. A river of freedom. A river that runs from coast to coast and...
...cuts us off from the mainland. Then, the Nation of Florida will float out to sea...'
oO That took longer than I thought it would to type. Heh, but, you should hear Xio and I say that...oh my god is it funny.
Computer + Virus = Dead mouse
Well, the other day while I was surfing theOtaku network(myO, theO, and OB) the computer at my dad's experienced what I'm now calling 'the Mouse Killer Virus'. What happened was, directly after clicking the 'no' button for an offer to download a web tool bar of somesort, my mouse(on the screen) began doing things on its own.
oO It totally freaked me out. But, anyway, it began opening programs, closing them, pulling up the start menu, doing a bunch of crap that I was most definitely not doing.
My hands were on the keyboard at the time of this, I was not touching the mouse!
So, anyway, not finding any solutions to the problem, I hit the power switch on the power strip below the desk and sat there for a moment, contemplating. I decided that I'd turn the computer back on and see what happened.
As the desktop came up, it happened again. I furiously began trying to gain control of the mouse but, to no avail, I lost the battle miserably.
So, I went to Plan C.
I restarted the computer and went into the System Recovery. I first attempted to return to a System Restore point; that didn't work because the mouse seemed to still be controlled by the MKV(Mouse Killer Virus) and would not allow me to enter the System Restore menu once the desktop loaded up.
So, I went to the next Plan, Plan D. I did a complete system reboot, the one that keeps all of the stuff that you've downloaded, saved, etc since you bought the computer.
Well, that worked, to an extent. After doing that, I learned that the mouse was now dead; it has ceased functioning. I also learned that the most of the programs that I had downloaded, did not work or would not load.
So, I decided to give it a rest for the night and I turned off the computer.
After it shut down and I turned off the moniter, I proceeded to yell at it, saying that it was a hunk of junk and that it should be condemned to hell and that it should rot there forever.
*growls* After that experience I watched the new Anime that I had bought earlier that day.
Ninja Scroll!
It was a good movie. ^_^ I can definitely see why it was recommended for 17+ though.
I also bought the second volume of the .hack//Legend of the Twilight Manga. I would have bought the first but, they didn't have it so, I settled with the second.
*grins* It didn't take me long to read it and I loved it!
And, call me a dork if you must or something like that, I bought some Pokemon cards as well. Ah, it brang back such fond memories. I haven't bought Pokemon cards in awhile. A long while.
Well, ok, back to the computer issues.
So, this morning, I woke up to my dad on the computer, doing a System Recover on it. I then told him that I'd done one of those last night and that it didn't work. He then said that we might as well try it again before going to the last, drastic measure.
Doing a full System Recover that took the entire system back to where it was when it was first bought.
I really didn't want to have to do that. I had stuff that I really didn't want to lose on there or to re-download.
But, we had to do it anyway...
So, I lost:
My entire .hack pictures folder
My banners folder
My website images folder
Winamp
Syboy: Search & Destroy
Yahoo! Messenger (Latest version)
MSN Messenger 6.2
*cries for a moment*
But, anyway, after doing the complete recovery, my dad had to leave along with my step-mom and step-sister so I was left to try to connect to the internet.
The problem was: I couldn't find our NetZero disc.
So, I resorted to using one of our *many* free trials of AOL.
I got pretty far into the setup when it began asking for a Credit Card.
T_T
So after awhile, I finally gave up with trying to see if there was an alternative to inputting a credit card number(for when the trial ended and there was an alternative but they wouldn't let me do that either) to be able to sign-up. I turned off the computer and went and watched MADtv.
So that was my eventful past day at my dad's.
Eh
With computer issues at my dad's(plus not having my floppy a at the time) and me having Lonnie, my mom and Lonnie's brother Kelly behind me, no story for now.
I guess I'll just have to postpone it 'till further notice.
Sorry everyone.
*cries louder*
The problems at my dad's computer have also caused me to not be able to change my Hentai Free picture on my website(I had this week's Picture of the Week pre-done, but I hadn't gotten to the Hentai Free pic so I never actually got it up, nor did I get to post my update saying what the new Hentai Free pic and Picture of the Week was). *growls*
Well, I guess I'll try to get around to everyone's sites before I have to get off. (I've already visited a few) Later.
