Oh hell yes.
That's right bitches and all you bitchettes out there: I passed hunter's safety.
The test was so God damn easy..well, to me, anyway. Fifty questions, multiple choice and I knew all of them except for one or two.
I am so God damn happy and in three days time I can legally hunt with a rifle.
Quiz answers:
1. What are the three most important parts of a gun?
Barrel, stock, and action.
2. What is the most important rule when handling a gun?
Safety, safety, safety! Always be safe with your gun!
3. Where should your gun be facing at all times?
In a safe direction.
4. Who are the safest hunters?
Hunters fresh out of hunter's safety.(Everything is still fresh in their minds)
5. Who are the most dangerous hunters?
Hunters fresh out of hunter's safety. (No experience)
6. If a deer is standing on top of a hill, should you shoot it?
No. Always check your surroundings; if the deer is on top of the hill, you have no way of knowing what's behind it.
7. What should you always ask before taking a gun from another person?
Is the safety on? Is it unloaded? (Always have them open the action to show that it is indeed unloaded)
8. What should always be on when a gun is not in use?
The safety.
9. Is the safety on a gun foolproof?
No. The safety on a gun is a mechanical device that may fail.
10. And finally, what is the best safety?
Yourself. You are the best safety.
Baron: Haha. Good one. 1 point, just for that.
Mor2009: Actually, it'd be better not to have it facing at the head, because the head is harder to shoot.
Pyrinsomniac: I'll give you 6 points for that. A lot of what you said definitely can answer the questions.
Let's see. The most notable thing I did today was shoot three out of five clay pidgeons with a 20 gauge.
Well, other then get my certificate.
And I finally know what kind of guns I have now(I was talking to my dad about it while I was typing this up). I have a .22 and a 30-30. He says he has a 6 millimeter that would be better for me to use than the 30-30 for this first year, but that if Lonnie has a smaller gun than that I should use Lonnie's.
Lonnie was apparently really proud of me. My mom when she picked me up said that he had came home and was all bragging and whatnot.
I think he left right around the time the DNR officer started talking to us all about hunting laws and stuff. I think he was more or less wandering around mostly while I was out shooting and stuff, but he was usually at whatever station I happened to be at eventually.
Heh. When I told him how many clay pidgeons I shot he said, "I don't think I could hit that many. Guess if we ever go bird hunting I'll leave all the shooting to you."
There was something I meant to say yesterday but didn't...and now I can't remember...
*shrugs* Oh well. I'll write it down next time I guess.
=\ Naruto was good, not the greatest, but good. I didn't like the name pronounciations, but, I haven't seen the Japanese version or anything so I guess I really don't know how they're pronounced.
If you didn't end up watching it:
Naruto was pronounced: Nah-roo-toe
Sasuke was pronounced:
Saws-kay
Sakura was pronounced:
Sah-koo-rah
If you've watched the Japanese version(or the sub, whatever works), would mind telling me how their names are pronounced or if they've been pronounced correctly? That'd be great.
And is Hokage pronounced hoe-kah-gay? I've always pronounced it hoe-kedge(kedge as in ledge or edge) because it sounds better that way...
Oh, I remember one thing I wanted to mention yesterday: How come the characters I like in books(or movies, video games, cartoons, etc.) always have to DIE? Why? Why?
(spoilers abound, using a different color so just highlight to read)
Take The Langoliers, a short story by Stephen King. My favorite characters were Craig Toomy and Nick Hopewell.
Guess what? They BOTH DIED!
Take Secret Window, Secret Garden, my favorite characters: Morton Rainey and John Shooter.
Guess what? Mort was Shooter and in the end they both died!
The Bourne Legacy. Awesome book right? My favorite characters: Alex Conklin(Conklin just rocks my socks, man.) and Khan.
Now, Alex Conklin really didn't get much page space in The Bourne Legacy, but he still got murdered.
Khan did not die, thank God. But he almost did...a few times.
And last but not least, the Harry Potter series.
Favorite characters: Sirius Black, Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, Draco Malfoy, Tom Marvolo Riddle
Now, lets go through the list:
Sirius Black - Dead
Severus Snape - Undoubtedly gonna die(you KNOW she's gonna do it)
Remus Lupin - Gonna die(Ferir's gonna get 'im)
Draco Malfoy - Up for debate. I'm not sure whether or not I think he's going to die.
Tom Marvolo Riddle - In technicality, he is dead. In non-technicality, he's going to die.
*sighs*
Cheerio.
-DDG
PS: Lest we forget- four years ago on this day the United States of America was struck with a great tragedy. Today is the day we must honor all those who died and we must never forget what happened. Only in our memory and in our hearts can those who have left us live on. As long as we never forget the tragedy that took place, the terrorist will never win.
Thank you. |
