Dragnet part ten
here's part ten. hope you like it.
Ten minutes passed and nothing happened. Gilgal, as impatient as he was, asked Cascon why he acted how he did when they fought the Chicony.
“It’s a long story.”
“We ain’t goin’ anywhere.”
“You wouldn’t understand,” replied Cascon indifferently.
“What wouldn’t I understand.”
“Just nothing – I don’t want to talk about it.”
“You’re eventually going to have to tell me.”
“Eventually, but not now.”
“Fine,” said Gilgal obviously annoyed by Cascon’s attitude.
During this conversation, Sanguis had walked over to one of the pillars. He stood there strangely looking at something behind it. He called over to Cascon and Gilgal who looked up and then came over.
Sanguis had been looking at a crudely fashioned bow with arrows and a crudely fashioned staff.
“Was that there when we got here?” asked Gilgal confusedly.
“I don’t think so,” was the reply.
“It’s just some badly crafted weapons, what could happen to us.”
With that he walked away. Because Sanguis looked at the weapons eagerly, Cascon said, “Keep ‘em if you want.”
Sanguis was overjoyed. He was not allowed to bear any weapons before because the greater demons did not allow others to bear weapons. Sanguis strapped the bag of arrows onto him and carried the bow on his back. He took the staff and walked over to the well again. There, he sat observing his new weapons. His bow was made of arcanide wood, which is cheap but durable. The wood was wrapped with a harsh cloth that allowed the bow to be gripped easily. The cloth was grey before Sanguis picked it up, but after carrying it to the well, it had become black with three gold streaks on it. The string was made of rough leather. Next, Sanguis examined his new staff. The staff was a little shorter than his head. It was also made of arcanide wood, but it was not completely covered with the same rough cloth that was on the bow. Only the top of the staff was covered by it; all the rest was left bare. The cloth-color on this had also changed from grey to black with gold. At the top of the staff, a few inches of the wood were left bare. Here the wood was cut to form a miniature Sanguis! It had been shaped like a block of the wall before, but it had changed just as the cloth had changed. When Sanguis saw this, he hurriedly ran over to Cascon and Gilgal who were waiting for the well to answer. After seeing this, Cascon knew exactly how the weapons had gotten there and why they had change from.
Gilgal, who had become extremely curious and surprised, stuttered, “How – how did that – was it like that before – no – what changed it…”
“Shut up,” Cascon interrupted calmly.
“What?”
“I know how all this happened.”
“Well then tell me!”
Part eleven coming soon. plz tell me how you like it so far.

Dragnet part nine
here is the next part of Dragnet. hope you like it.
Cascon and Gilgal continued down the dungeon with Sanguis. In a short while, they came to a massive and elaborate staircase. The walls surrounding the staircase were covered with paintings of demons. One picture was bigger than all the rest. It was a picture of a creature that seemed to be only a shadow, but when looked at closely, a reptilian skeleton-like creature could be seen under a shadowy cloak and hood. This image reminded Cascon about his encounter with the strange voice in the fiery-blue room.
Cascon hesitated for a moment and then followed Gilgal and Sanguis down the staircase. The staircase led them deep into the dungeon. It had taken them a good forty minutes to descend. The many cracks and missing steps did not help.
At the end of the staircase was a gigantic corridor that seemed to have been a hall for great warriors of long ago. The corridor with its destroyed pillars and walls hinted at the fact that there had been a hard battle. The obvious results were of a victory by the ancestors of the demons that now inhabited the wretched and cursed place.
The three battle-hardened warriors continued down the corridor. They came upon a massive well, and Sanguis began acting strangely. He pointed to the well, but because neither Gilgal nor Cascon understood, he ran to a broken pillar and broke a small piece off. He then began writing with it, and it worked like a chalk.
Sanguis wrote on the ground that the well was a wishing well, but no ordinary wishing well. The well granted the wishes of only the worthiest warriors. He also wrote that he would have wished at the well, but it does not consider demons worthy, even if they are extraordinary warriors.
As he finished writing, Gilgal hurriedly asked how the well worked. Sanguis wrote down with his pillar-chalk, “It works by throwing your weapon down the well. If you are worthy, you will receive a different weapon in return, but surpassing the old one.”
As Sanguis ended this, Cascon walked slowly toward the well. He stood there contemplating whether to throw his sword in or not, for it was the only weapon he had with him. Gilgal, not noticing Cascon’s hesitation to throw in a weapon, took out his nun chucks. He walked to the well and dropped them in figuring that even if he lost them, he had his axe.
They waited for an hour, but when nothing happened, Gilgal gave up hope and with crushed pride, brought out his axe. The weapon was a slick ebony axe. It had been a gift to him from his father when he passed away. The axe had a dark blue leather handle with a royal blue insignia on it that looked like a sea dragon. Gilgal sat down quietly examining his axe and also trying to forget being rejected by the well.
“Well aren’t you going to try it?” Gilgal asked Cascon in a sort of irritated voice.
“I don’t know; I don’t have an extra weapon like you.”
“Sure you do.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I slipped your other sword in your pack before we left Athroden.” (Athroden was the town in which the company had met before coming to this dungeon in Dreshdae, which is about a month’s ride if on a horse, but a month and a half if on foot as they had come.)
Cascon, obviously angered, exclaimed, “You brought the sword that was awarded to me by Ingram the Great! Why did you do that! I can’t believe you did that! I was saving it as a trophy never to be used.”
Ingram the Great was Cascon’s predecessor as the king and champion of earth.
“Come on, just throw that sword in the well, and then you still have the Shrakken.” Shrakken is the name of the sword given to Cascon by Ingram the Great.
Gilgal again pleaded with Cascon to throw his sword in.
“Fine I’ll do it. Satisfied?”
“Yeah.”
Cascon walked to the well again and hesitated for a while. He then dropped his sword in the well and waited.
Part ten coming soon, tell me how you like it so far.

Dragnet part eight
Part eight, woohoo.
Cascon and Gilgal weren’t happy to see these Dricks, especially because the two-hour limit on the cloaks had not yet worn off. The two Dricks just stared and growled at them. Because the fight was going nowhere, Gilgal charged one of the Dricks. It dodged his attack and retaliated with a counter. The other Drick just stood there and watched as Gilgal and the first Drick fought.
The only difference between the two Dricks was that the one that fought Gilgal had extremely long and thick fangs while the other one had three gold “slash marks” on his chest.
Gilgal fought valiantly against the Drick but was outmatched. Just as he was about to get a good kick on the Drick, it spun around and did a back kick. Gilgal flew back and landed on his feet. He charged the Drick but at the last moment jumped over it and tried to hit it, but the Drick anticipated his move and countered it with a grapple move. It then threw Gilgal towards Cascon.
When Cascon tried to step in for Gilgal, the other Drick stepped in his way and just stood there warningly. Cascon was forced to just stand there and watch his friend get beaten up by a ruthless monster.
By this time Gilgal had gotten up, and the fighting had resumed. He put away his nun chucks because they were useless against the Drick. He walked up to the Drick and stood there with a mean look on his face. They stared each other down for a long time. After about half-an-hour, Gilgal got into a fighting stance, and the Drick did the same. They stared each other down for another five minutes, then without warning and with incredible speed, Gilgal jumped over the Drick and in mid-air kicked it on the head with such great ferocity that it killed the Drick.
The other Drick became fearful after seeing this. He surrendered and even wrote out with the blood of the other Drick, “I surrender. Please let me live. I will even join you and help you on your quest.” He then wrote, “With Claws and Fangs.” That phrase was very sacred to Dricks. They were bound to it by their life.
After reading this, Gilgal and Cascon agreed to let it come with them. They even gave him a name. They called him Sanguis.
After a short while, Cascon asked Gilgal how he had been able to move so fast on the finishing move. Gilgal had not even noticed that he had moved fast.
“I guess the two hour limit on the cloaks must be over,” he said.
“Sweet,” replied Cascon.
Sanguis grunted approvingly.
Part nine coming soon. plz tell me how you like it so far.

Dragnet part seven
well, it's finally here. the long awaited (or maybe not) next part of Dragnet. hope you like it.
They continued down the dungeon. After a short while Gilgal heard a small rustle and asked Cascon what it was.
“It’s probably a rat or something,” said Cascon.
“Whatever you say,” replied Gilgal.
Again after a short while, the sound came again, and again Gilgal asked what it was.
Cascon said, “You must be hearing things because I didn’t hear anything.”
“I swear I could have heard something just now,” said Gilgal.
“Well it’s not like we need to check it out or anything, right?” asked Cascon.
“Yeah, I guess so,” replied Gilgal.
They walked on, and again Gilgal heard a rustle, but this time Cascon also heard it. They also saw a short figure run into the shadows.
“Damn!” exclaimed Gilgal.
“Yeah, I know what you mean. I hate Dricks,” said Cascon.
Dricks are scaly, green-skinned creatures about four feet tall. They walk on two’s like humans.
“At least it’s not anything tough,” said Gilgal.
As he said this, seven Dricks appeared from out of the shadows. They charged at them as soon as they were visible. They used the common Drick tactic of destroying one opponent by one. They charged at Cascon, who unsheathed his sword and slashed one of them right across the chest.
“Save some for me,” said Gilgal as he watched Cascon take all seven on at the same time.
Cascon replied, “Just because I can take all of them on doesn’t mean that I have to.”
Gilgal said, “Fine I’ll help.”
The fight lasted about ten minutes. It would have ended a lot earlier, but the cloaks had not finished their two-hour penalty.
When the ground was covered with blood and dead bodies, Cascon and Gilgal moved on.
Before they had gotten ten feet away, two unusual Dricks stepped out of the Shadows. They were unusual because they were black. They were also taller than normal and had sharp crystal-like claws on their hands and a sharp crystal-like needle on their tails. The claws and needles were eerily glowing a smoky silver.
They just stood there and growled viciously, but quietly.
Cascon and Gilgal stopped dead in their tracks when they saw them. Gilgal drew his nun chucks as Cascon drew his sword.
Part eight coming soon. plz tell me how you like it so far.
