(he ran out to her.)

Rei: I'm sorry, Vesper! ><”

Vesper: ? ... - -

(She struggled to sit up. Balmug lowered his sword.)

Balmung: What the?!

Rei: Don't kill her! ><”

Balmung: ! Why would it matter to you? * Stand aside.

Rei: No! >< She hasn't done anything wrong!”

Balmung: To assault other players? I think not. *

Rei: Who has she- ... '

Balmung: Precisely wolf. Now, if you don't mind. *- -

Rei: I won't. - - She asked for forgiveness.
Balmung: Plain forgiveness isn't enough. She's wreck havoc long enough on this game. *

Rei: It's not her fault.”

Balmung: Just stand aside. *

Rei: I will not. ><”

Talon: God, I hope you know what you're doing, kid. - -'
Balmung: Fine, - -

(He raised his sword to Rei.)

Rei: !”

(He reached for his swords)

Rei: Swords or no swords, I won't let you harm
her ... - -'

(He cut right into him and Rei had very little life.)

Rei: ! ><”

(He fell down)
Balmung: I told you to move, kid. *

Rei: ngh ... I made a promise. > <”

(He managed to stand up)

Balmung: This next attack will surely rid of
you, now will you move out of the way? *

Rei: No!* ><”

(The same barrier lashed out around him and vesper and started to heal them both.)

Balmung: !

Rei: ><”

Balmung: You're testing me, kid. *

Rei: (This barrier is putting alot of stress on my body ... and I don't know how to stop it, let along how I activated it.) ><”

(Vesper soon came to her senses.)

Vesper: ... ! You again ... why are you here? - -

Rei: Oh, god I know you are going to hate me forever for this, but you were about to be killed and I jumped in for your protection. ><”

Vesper: ! ... - - I cut ties with you though ... you came back ...

Rei: I forgive you for what you did. And, I couldn't stand there knowing you were in need of
help. ><”

Vesper: I only asked Talon ... - -

Rei: Talon told me.

(The barrier pulsed.)

Rei: Augh! ><” ... I hope your okay though. '

Vesper: !

(She sat up and wiped away the blood from her cheek.)

Vesper: - -

Rei: Any of my spells would be too weak to even heal you much ... I hope this does. > <

Vesper: I would never expect this of you. Go on
and get out of here ... - -

Rei: But, you'll die if ... no, I guess I shouldn't intrude if you don't want me to.

(The barrier disappeared and he was left very weak.)

(Balmung raised his sword to him because he was in his way, but Vesper raised her staff and blocked the attack.)

Vesper: I'll talk to you in a moment, Rei. ' '

(She used a poison spell and it quickly took Balmung's life points. She then used a fire spell and it did a good amount of damage. One spell after another, he soon logged off and she fell back.)
Vesper: >< ...

Rei: Are you okay? ... >.<

(She didn't respond and her staff fell out of her hand.)

Rei: !

(He went over to her.)

Rei: You wasted alot of your magic.”

(He fumbled through his things. Talon approached
them cautiously.)

Talon: Wave master ... '

Rei: You have something, don't you?”

Talon: ! Oh, yes. ' '

(He pulled out an elixer.)

Rei: That should work. '

(Talon handed it to him.)

Rei: (That was alot of magic she used.)

(He held her head up and helped her drink it.
She soon regained her senses.)

Vesper: - - ... -o You're still here ... '

Rei: Unlike you, I wouldn't give up on someone
when they need help. '

Vesper: ... I gave up so you wouldn't get
hurt ... - -'

Rei: I was hurt when you gave up.

Vesper: ... ? - -'

Rei: When you gave up, not only did you give up
on yourself, you gave up on me. '

Vesper: ... ... ' I just didn't want to hurt
you ... is that simple enough? - -

Rei: You gave me hope to achieve something for
once. And, when you told me that you give up, my
dreams were shattered. '

Vesper: You still have hopes of finding
another. ( ,- -)

Rei: ? What? ' '

Vesper: ! Nothing. ((- -,))

Rei: Come on, let's get out of here.

Vesper: ...

(She stood up and they went back to the cherry
blossomed site, but all festive were gone.)

Vesper: - - -o

Rei: ' I guess Ouka left. '

Vesper: ! That wolf again? - -

Rei: Well, yeah. '//'

Vesper: ... - -

Talon: Come on, Wave master.

Vesper: ...

Rei: ...

(He walked ahead a bit and stood amongst the
empty fields, watching the petals blow around.
She looked off and leaned against the tree not
knowing what to say to him.)

Rei: I don't even know if I'll see her again. - -

Talon: You might. ^ ^'

Rei: ? What do you mean?

Talon: She's usually seen all over the place. ^ ^'

Rei: ... -o I think I'll log out for today.


Vesper: Sure, but ... ( - -)

Rei: ? What?

Vesper: Thanks ... ,-//-

(She logged off.)

Rei: ...

(He logged off as well. Later that night, he
logged in at two-O'clock in the morning. He went to the cherry blossom site and watched the moon.)

Rei: (Couldn't sleep.) - - ...

Talon: Hey, ' ' It's you again.

Rei: Yeah, I couldn't sleep. I figured that I'd
come here.

Talon: ? Why not? ' '

Rei: I don't know. - - I guess I was kind of
discouraged when Ouka wasn't here. No one was
really here. '

Talon: Course, it's two a.m. - -'

Rei: I'm talking about earlier, when we came back from helping Vesper.

Talon: Well, she was probably with her team. ' '

Rei: Yes, that's right.

(He didn't take his eyes off the moon.)

Talon: You know, that's the first time in a year
that I have heard Vesper apologize.

Rei: ? Really?

Talon: Yeah. ' '

Rei: ...

Talon: Believe it or not, she's my cousin. ( - -')

Rei: Cousin, huh? So, you get good reputation?

Talon: Well, I've never mentioned it to anyone
until now. I didn't want to embarrass her.
( ' ')

Rei: Yeah, of course.

Talon: She's younger than me and we go to school
together ... in school, she's shy and weak, but
here ... she's quite the opposite. ' ' She
finally has power here.

Rei: Me ... I'm not that different from this
world. My parents are separated, and I have no
siblings ... the only thing I can hope for is a
companion. - -

Talon: Well, you sound just like her ... ' '

Rei: ? ... I'm sorry, I'm just out of it today. - -

Talon: She only wishes to find something and
doesn't even know what to look for. She might be
coming out of the steel heart she has hidden
herself in. ^ ^'

Rei: ... I feel like I'm starting to open up as
well. ... - -

Talon: ? ' '

Rei: I rarely don't get involved with someone unless I'm willing to open up with them. - -

Talon: Oh ... ' ' Well, you two may have more in common than you can comprehend. ' I'm going to go to bed. - -' I've got a test in the morning.

Rei: Okay. - -

(Talon logged off.)

Rei: ...

(He transformed and lied down in the middle of
the field. He soon dozed off. Morning came on
the program and the cherry blossoms returned to regular trees. Vesper logged in and looked down on Rei. She was dressed in a revealing outfit, but not like Ouka's. She also had a new staff.)

Rei: ... ' '?

(He sat up.)

Rei: Vesper?

Vesper: Didn't expect to see you here. - -

Rei: I see you got some new items. ' '

Vesper: Yeah ... I suppose you couldn't sleep
last night either. ' '

Rei: No. - -

Vesper: ? Why not? Wondering where your wolf-
girl friend was? - -

Rei: “ '

Vesper: It's kind of obvious, it's written all
over your face. - -

Rei: ... ( '- -)

Vesper: ? What? Embarrassed? - -

Rei: I didn't think it was that obvious. - -'

Vesper: Well, it is ... to your sensei. - -

Rei: ! You're ... giving me another chance? ' '

Vesper: I suppose I can learn to control my
temper ... it's not everyday you run into
someone who will still forgive me. - -'

Rei: Well, I guess being secluded allows me for
clearer thinking.

Vesper: ...? - -

Rei: I guess I never told you, huh? '

Vesper: No. You haven't. - -

Rei: -o My parents are divorced. And I have no
siblings. I don't really have any friends. The only time I go out is when I'm at school or when I just feel it's needed. - -

Vesper: ! (,- -)'

Rei: That's why I started this world. I hoped
for a better turn out. But, It's not all that
different.

Vesper: That Talon told you ... didn't he? { ,- -}

Rei: ? ' '

Vesper: About me? That's in reality that I'm
just a cowardice girl hiding behind him for support? ,- -,

Rei: Yeah, but here ... you have power and
you're practically respected ... ' '
Vesper: More like feared. { ,- -}

Rei: ... ' So, I guess you came to this game in
hopes of making a new start.

Vesper: Yeah ... but life doesn't have a reset button. ( ,- -)

Rei: I guess not. '

Vesper: -o Course, it's not worth my time to
explain. ,- -

(She wiped away her tears.)

Rei: ... ' Well, I guess when you came here, you
were like me? ' '

Vesper: Yeah. - -

Rei: And, when everyone shunned you, you sought
power. And when no one respected you, you made them fear you. ' '

Vesper: ! '

Rei: I don't have a problem with it like
everyone else. You did what you could. '

Vesper: Yeah right ... - -

Rei: Well, then what? ' '

Vesper: I didn't want everyone to fear me, but
it's either one or the other ... never
affection. - -
Rei: ? ... ' '

(He stood up and walked over to her.)

Vesper: ! What are you doing? ' ''

Rei: I think I understand ... ' '

(He sat down next to her.)

Vesper: Yeah ... - - I'm a bit misunderstood ...

Rei: As I can see.

(She rested her head on her knees.)

Vesper: Being strong means nothing when you have
no use for it ...

Rei: I guess that's true. ... well, I'm not
going to be going to school today.

Vesper: Skipping today?

Rei: Yeah. I can't go when I can't sleep. I'll
just hang out around here.

Vesper: ... All right ... - -

Rei: I'm going to the main gate. You can probably meet me there after school.
