Grrr....
So, the mock trial team is screwing me over! I only signed up to play an attorney; I had no interest (or talent) for playing a wittness. But because too many nubs want to be attorneys, I'll have to to be a wittness. Where's the repect for my seniority? Jeez...
Trying to get Tidal Wave was also a bust, no thanks to K and Wal Marts. Ehh, I'll get 'im later. Even if I don't, they're just going to release him in different colors for TF: Energon. Granted, the colors don't look as good, and Energon as a whole looks pretty bad.
>_< Frustration, I tell you...
Good news: New Blink-182 CD!! Yay!! Must get it for X-Mas! Also, Angel and Smallville start in, like, ten minutes.
Oh, and my dad made cookies. ^_^
Thought of the moment: So...I have to play a sad old man? Jeez...

Strange things...
Today is just one of the totally random days that, when strung together, makes up our life.
That was kinda' deep...I'm slightly impressed.
I might get Tidal Wave tomorrow; I've got a five-dollar off coupon, and if K-Mart matches their competitor's coupons, I'll get 'im for $17, since K-Mart has him for $22. =)
Tomorrow is the second meeting of my school's mock trail team. As the only returning male alumni, I am aoutmatically the Alpha Male. Time to haze some nubs...
Well, okay, I wouldn't really, but it's nice to have the options.
I listened to Deep Space Base, the old Toonami CD from a couple years ago. It was pretty good, actually; I wonder why they never did a new one?
I find myself practicing my Spanish in the oddest places...like during the Chupacabra episode of X-Files.
No new comics for DeathBug this week. Aww.
Well, it's time for me to convert to me evil alter-ego of Seth, and wreak havoc in Bandit's RPG. Well, okay, he hasn't been doing much havoc wreaking as of late, but as soon as this touchy feely scene is over, he'll be lookin' for trouble. >:)
Thought of the moment: The disco song "Shake your groove thing" and Ricky Martin's "Shake your Bon bon..."...they're the same song!!
Quote of the moment: "I'm not crazy, Im' just a little unwell." -"Unwell", Matchbox-20
Ciao for now,

Busy Day, Huh?
Well, I got to chat with Ryo-Chan. ^_^
No more talk; reviews!
Shows:
Smallville: What is it about Lana atracting freakjobs? Is it a pheromone thing? And why'd they have to name him Seth? Seth is my evil alter-ego's name! Damn them... Predictable episode, but next week's looks awesome.
Angel: This episode could have been a waste of time, until the scene at the end on the roof. That's drama. Ironically, next week's episode also looks to be awesome. Wednesday's shaping up to be a good TV night.
Friends: Lame.
Scrubs: A solid episode, which also featured one of the few really deep medical conflicts that they've highlighted, as illustrated by two opposite but equally valid views by Dr. Cox and Dr. Kramer.
The identity of JD's quirky crush was to die for, as well as JD being protective of his nipples.
Anime:
Yu-Gi-Oh: After the darkness of the Marik arc, it seems we're going to a more lighthearted atmosphere, what with Kuriboh and evil penquiens. It's nice to see Tea duel, her dream sequence was most unusual, and it was unexpected to hear DMG talk. I believe this is the first case of a Duel Monster actually speaking, with the exception of the Witty Phantom. (He was a character, not a monster.) Am I wrong?
By the way, couldn't Yugi have attacked Gansly because Gansly used his deck master ability? That's what Gansly said about Kuriboh...same with Krumb....
I love watching Krumb overreact to being attacked... ^_^
Jackie Chan: I'm a bit disappointed; Hak Fou finally puts on a mask, so you know there'd be a catch. However, it would have been cooler if his lil' Shadow Khan didn't grow bigger, but could fight at that size. *That* would have been fun to watch.
Sonic X: I liked this episode, because it focused on a semi-villain, and was fairly complex for Sonic X: government making a deal with a theif.
The one thing I didn't like was Rogue's voice. She sounded...old.
Shaman King: The first time Shaman King has let me down. First, an unneccesarily long flashback by Amidamaru. But that was secondary to the end, which was a total was out.
Tokageru just turned nice all of a sudden? Never mind that he's a murdering bandit who tried to kill Yoh, Amidamaru, Morty, and Ryu, as well as stabbing Muscle Punch...he just turned nice for no reason?! Because Yoh said he would?! "Never hurt anybody" my rear!
Gah! We were robbed of a possibly excellant sub plot where he becomes a hero and seeks redemption. The whole last half of the episode was just bad, and a horrible letdown after such a great buildup.
The one thing I did like, though, was seeing Anna actually panic. Sometimes Anna seems like a god-modder, so it's nice to be reminded ocassionally that she's still human. (She didn't even bat an eye during the duel with Li Bailong.)
Morty's expression when Anna cried was priceless. "If Anna's crying, you know we're screwed!" ^_^
And...hey! Where's Tray Racer?
Ninja Turtles: Dinosaurs are cool. Dionsaurs with ray guns and spaceships and cybernetic prostetics are uber-cool. Ad an eye-patch to that mix...you get the idea.
This episode did make something apparent to me, though. First, they're making Michelangelo a total moron in an attempt at humor. Come on, he's a joker, and a slacker, but not a loser!
Second, also regarding Michelangelo: he's character's become out dated. He's still based almost entirely on his 80's self, and his jokes, voice and mannerisms reflect this. He needs an update. All the other characters are firmly in this decade except for Mikey. He deserves better, IMO.
Thought of the moment: Who's faster, Sonic the Hedgehog or Road Runner?
Quote of the moment: "Demon compensates for inferior ninja army!" -Hak Fuo, JCA

I'm so darn happy!!
I'm totally on a happy buzz right now! My friends Li-C and Ryo-Chan are back on-line! Yay!
I hadn't heard from Li-C in about a month, but I hadn't heard from Ryo-Chan in about three months. Now I'm getting mail from both of them! This is awesome! ^_^ :) =)

Misc.
Well, before I begin ranting (This is not Bug Biz), I'll just take care of a few things.
Solo: You told me about TF: Universe Tankor/Obsidian, but I never got to respond. My response: Thanks for the info, because Vehicons own, but after going to Hasbro's site and seeing them, I have no interest in purchasing the set.
I still have my original Obsidian, and he's in great shape. I don't have my original Tankor anymore, but he was one of my least-favorite Vehicons, and his new colors....he's the Vehicon spokesbot for Sunny Delight. Ugh. (Same reason I'm not buying Universe Primal. New colors = Ugly)
I saw Matrix: Revolutions last night. (Alone! No thanks to my friends for not showing up! >:P ) It owned, and that's all I'll say. It also further proved that Reloaded was just mindlessly padded to strech into a new movie.
My Beast Machines RPG has exactly 1 applicant. If you're reading this, right here, these words I am typing, please do me a favor and look for it in the Recruitment board. If shameless self-promotion can work for Bandit, it can work for me.
Melissa Fahn is a voice actress. She has been the voice of: Rika on "Digimon: Tamers", Ed on "Cowboy Bebop", Gaz on "Invader Zim", Ninamori on "FLCL", Etsuko in "Kikaider", and many others. Because I'm such a huge fan of her work, and have heard this woman talk literally thousands of times, I'm starting the "Melissa Fahn Appreciation Society". PM me to join.
The only thing that the Nickleodean network in America has on the air to justify its continued existance after cancelling Invader Zim is "The Fairly Oddparents" and "My Life as a Teenage Robot."
My Christmas list:
Yu-Gi-Oh: the Sacred cards
Marvel Encyclopedia vol. 4: Spider-Man
The Ultimates vo. 1: Super-Human
The Night Gwen Stacy Died
Less than Jake: Anthem
X2
Other items:
Mario Advanced 3
Armada Decepticons
Ultimate Venom
Manga, lots of manga
Marvel CCG starter
I've noticed a disturbing trend: no one ever comments on my various rants concerning Spider-Man. It occurs to me that prehaps my reading public isn't very familiar with his exploits. I plan to change that, but not right now. Now, I do homework.
Thought of the moment: Revolutions blew my mind...
Quote of the moment: "Yes...I'm here, standing over you, and I'm supposed to say something...everything that has a beginning has an end, Neo....wait, no, that's not right!" -Agent Smith, "Matrix: Revolutions"

Pep rallies: Tools of the Devil
So, one of my friends is pissed at me, but I don't think I'm in the wrong. She is in love with the idea of being in love; she always is in relationships where she says "I love you" and the assorted other flowery crap way too fast. (Fortunatly, she isn't sexually active, or that would be a whole other mess.)
Naturally, this lends itself to problems, problems I hear about. A lot. And I always say the same thing: "Just take a break from guys." She never listens. Now, she's upset because she broke up with her latest fling.
Usually, breakups can't be pinned on any one person, but this one was all the guy's fault. From what she said, he sounded like a psycho. I told her she was waay better off (and probably safer) without him, and she agreed. This was Monday.
All friggin' week, she's been moping about this creep. "I can't go to work without thinking about him." "Oh, that was our song." "I miss him." Here, I'm thinking, "God, you only dated for a month! Get over it! Some of us have problems too, but you don't hear us whining about them!"
But I did'nt say anything. I just listened and nodded.
Then, at the (ugh) Pep rally, I sat next to her. A song by her fave band comes on, and she goes nots, with the screaming and the cheering while everyone else is completely silent.
I tell her to sit down, she's embarassing us. She says she loves this song, and it's the first time she's been happy all week. (Melodrama, anyone?) She starts screaming again, and it really hurts my ears. (I had ear problems as a child, so my ears are a little sensitive, especially to high pitches like a girl's screaming.
I tell her, in no uncertain terms, to sit down and stop screaming. ( I do tell her about the ear thing.) She then tells me, of all things, that I don't care about her feelings. (*Must...resist...urge...to strangle...*) I press my case, and she tells me....
Well, I won't put what she said, but it rhymes with "luck cough".
So, I ditch her. I mean, I'm only human.
Ahhh...rant is out of my system...now for more stuff...
Went to the local comic store and bought every single Beast Machines transformer he had. Well...he only had one, but still, that counts, right?
Ultimate Six #4: Heh...Norman Osborn literally tattles on Nick Fury, informing the President that Fury violated his civil rights by holding him without a trial. (Wonder if Fury's decision had anyhing to do with Norman's tendancy to become the Green Goblin, and, you know, kill people?) The Goblin and his minions invade Fury's base, where the Ultimates and Spider-Man are taken by surprise.
This series so far has higlighted Octavious and Osborn, but I personally really like Bendis' characterization of Electro. Electro's in it for the money. He knows the system, and has no qualms with gewtting his hands dirty, but when all's said and done, he just wants money.
Three times now, when offered the chance for typical supervillain Revenge (R), he's turned it down, or given it a low priority. I'd like to know more about his origin, and why he's motivated this way.
Spectacular Spider-Man #6: Countdown, part 1.
After the awesome Venom arc, "The Hunger", can Jenkins deliver the same quality with Doctor Octopus? Can we say "Yes?"
Aside from excellant potrayals of Pete and his supporting cast, and a touching moment with Flash, Jenkins gives us a new take on the good Doctor. This issue is the first appearance of Ock's movie-inpired costume, and I'm pretty neutral on it. The tentacle redesign is okay, but the hair and the jacket are iffy. Love the glasses.
Anyway, something's starting to bug Ock: he's smarter than Spider-Man, stronger than Spider-Man, is older, has better resources...why's Spidey keep winning?
Ock wants to understand Spider-Man as an individual, to understand better the nature of his foe. First things first: he ambushes Spidey, and asks him, rather civily for a villian, if he would consider taking his mask off and parading around Times Square.
Spidey tells Ock where to go, and after a struggle, gets away. Ock isn't satisfied, and will force Spider-Man's hand, if necessary.
In case you could'nt tell, I love this book. It makes complete and perfect sense that a guy with an ego as big as Ock would go nuts wondering why some upstart in tights keeps beating him. I can't wait for part two. Jenkins rules.
Thought of the moment: America needs better mass-transit systems.
Quote of the moment: "So go ahead and run, Spider-Man; run away and hide. Sleep well in your secret lair. Because when you wake up tomorrow, everything will have changed." -Dr. Octopus

Platypus
Well, time again for Bug Biz…and various other rants.
First, I fear that I, DeathBug, the man you all admire, is stuck in the “Friend Zone”. You know what I’m talkin’ about: there’s a girl, who’s my long-time friend, whom I’ve developed a crush on. She, of course, has no idea, and I, of course, can’t ever broach the subject. Sigh.
In other news, I bought a Transformer on sale: Demolishor, the tank. Nifty little dude; reminds me of Tankor. Still can’t find Thrust or Sideways, though. (My new plan is to get the chars that seem most like my fave Transformer faction, the Vehicons. Thrust=Obsidian, Sideways=Thrust, Thundercracker=Jetstorm, Tidal Wave=Megatron.)
I can’t find a good website that has background html to put here; nor can I get the midi I uploaded to play. If anyone knows a site with html, or midis they know will play on myOtaku, let me know.
I’m also getting together my Christmas list; the Spider-Man Encyclopedia, Super Mario Advance 4, the new Less than Jake CD, the Death of Gwen Stacy, X2 DVD….The trick is to wait until my sisters have their stuff; my mom then offers me ten dollars more than the most expensive sister. (I’m going to Hell, aren’t I?)
I want to buy Yu-Gi-Oh: The Sacred Cards, but not yet.
I’m going to build a Masked Beast Des Gardius YGO deck, but not tonight.
There’s something else I was going to say, and I’ll remember it as soon as I post this…but right now, I forgot…
And now…reviews…
Comics:
Spider-Girl # 66: In the finale of Marked For Death, May finds out who’s been pulling the strings, and the Black Tarantula’s out for revenge. A nice ending to a nice story.
Amazing Spider-Man: Unintended Consequences: Now reunited with MJ, Pete’s on top of the world, until the mutant gangster Digger arrives. Spidey has no choice but to protect Digger’s target, a retired mobster and his daughter. I kinda’ liked Digger, but the last two chapters of the story, featuring Ezekial, really turned me off.
Zeke basically says that Peter has to consider the consequences when he captures people as Spider-Man, but the whole thing comes out sounding hollow.
Shows:
Smallville: 1961: Boooorrriiinnngg, All that build-up for a completely contrived plot. Very, very lame, and one of the weakest episodes.
Angel: Anything featuring masked Mexican wrestlers is funny, except “Los Luchadores”. This episode was no exception.
Friends: Completely forgettable; no highlights whatsoever.
Scrubs: The best part of this episode was the scene with Dr. Cox and JD’s brother; it was sweet without being syrupy. That’s a hard mix to get. Oh, and I’m said they shortened the intro.
South Park: This episode was hilarious. ^_^ “Grandpa, I believe seniors should have rights, but I don’t want to die.”
Anime:
Yu-Gi-Oh: The first episode started out okay, and Gansly gained a few cool points by making fun of Yugi’s hair. Afterwards, it completely lost focus. The first duel with the deck Master system should be dynamic, not a bunch of wussie monsters with annoying effects.
Also…Noa’s plan kinda’ sucks. I mean, it’s decent, but the execution is wrong. H e could be striking with all of his pawns all at once, but by spacing them out, he’s assuring that Yugi will have time to help them all. Duh. (Oh, and you can’t be evil wearing those shorts….)
Heh…Tristan braved a Mad Sword Beast to help a girl, and she doesn’t even notice. Been there, done that. I feel for ya’, man.
Oh, and a future complication: I hope all of the Big 5 don’t talk in corporate metaphors. It’s okay for one duelist, but for five? Agh.
Note to Bandit: Mokie Mokie Mokie!!
Jackie Chan: Rerun of an episode I panned the first time.
X-Men: Reruns. I think they’re through for the season.
Sonic X: A baseball game between the good guys and the bad guys. I liked it…but there’s only one bad guy. And I’m still waiting for the debut of Shadow. Shadow rules!!
Shaman King: A nice episode; I like Ryu, and the Lizard appears to be a worthy opponent. Anyone check the edit? Yeah, he “knocked out” Muscle Punch…with a knife. Sure. Heh…”Sacred hang”….
Ninja Turtles: Tuuurtles…Innn…Spaacceee!! Now being teleported into another galaxy, the Turtles have all sorts of wacky adventures! Yay! Evil dinosaurs! Yay! Fugitoid was a bit annoying, but otherwise, it’s all good.
Thought of the moment: I still need to see “Matrix: Reloaded”.
Quote of the moment: “Aw, man! I’m stuck in the friend zone!!”- Tristan, “Yu-Gi-Oh”

The lead stayed in...
Of course, because I said I was going to overhaul the site, something came up to prevent me from doing so. (Damn you Murphey and your Law!)
So...in general, look for an update soon.
Hey, Bandit, you told me once where you got your background HTML, but I forgot. Where was it? ^^;

Getting the lead out...
I've been telling myself for weeks now that I need to hurry up and overhaul this page. Tonight I think I'll do it whilst "Smallville" is on.
Watch this space!
