Bug Biz 2
Well, the FoxBox airs on Sundays where I live, so here's some more reviews, as well as reviews I was too tired to post yesterday.

Sonic X: Blech. Just...yuck. This episode was a complete and total waste of time. Dr. Robotnik's "Evil teacher" plot was a wee bit too corney for my taste, and the execution was just pathetic. They spent half the freakin' episode with the Teacher robot teaching. And were we supposed to feel sorry for him, or what? Gah.

Shaman King: Niiiiice. Ren's sister, with the dub name of June, has come to kick @$$ and take names. What ensues is an excellant fight sequence that Im' not upset with having to wait a week to see the end of.

Ninja Turtles: This was a good, solid episode, if a bit predictable. The only thing I really didn't like was that the Turtles couldn't have defeated Shredder without the Sword of Tenguo. Kind of a letdown on their part.

I was rather amazed with the climax of the Shredder/Leonardo duel. If you saw it, you know what I'm talking about. I didn't know they could show something so graphic on FoxKids. Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

And now, reviews of the following comics:

Trigun Manga, vol. 1: Well, there's not a lot to say here. I mean, it's the Trigun manga! It collects the first year's worth of strips in a rather hefty volume. It features coontent shown in the TV episodes "Hard Puncher"< the two-parter on the sand steamer, and "Little Arcadia", respectivly.

If you like Trigun, you'll like this. About the only thing I did'nt like about it was some of the renderings of Milly. She's supposed to be tall, but she isn't supposed to look like a member of the Nebraska family! Yeesh.

Spectacular Spider-Man #5: It's the conclusion to "The Hunger", but suprsingly, Spidey's not the one in danger for his life, Venom is. Both the symbiote and Eddie Brock are desperate, and Spider-Man figures big into their plans. Peter is faced with a tough question: To let Eddie Brock live, should he allow Venom to exist?

Ultimate Six #3: Well, the Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Electro, Kraven the Hunter and the Sandman are on the loose, and the Ultimates have a bit of a mess on their hands. Nick Fury sends for Peter, who suddenly realizes that he's in waaaay over his head. Norman Osborn then takes to the offensive on his quest for revenge against Nick Fury, but not in a way you'd expect. A solid issue, if a bit tame; clearly a set-up for the showdown to start next ish.

Now, as a favor to my buddy Bandit, go check out this site: http://www.avidgamers.com/digicurse/

It's cool, I promise.

Thought of the moment: I continue to be in love with Ren's sister.

Well, darn
I've decided to stop telling people that I'll update my blog, because aS soon as I do, events conspire to make me *waay* too busy to update. *Sigh*

First off, I want to wish a very happy birthday to my friend Li-C. She's not having the best day, but i want her to know that she's appreciated. ^_^

Let's see...Homecoming was last week, and it was totally lackluster. nothing exceptionally good happened, nothing exceptionally bad happened. All in all, totally forgetable.

I got the Trigun manga on Thursday; *very nice*. Highly recommended if you're a Trigun fan.

I also got Spectacular Spider-Man #5, Ultimate Six #3, and TF: Armada's Terrorsaur. All three are also recommended.

This morning's cartoon rants:

Yu-Gi-Oh: Well, now we know: Yami Marik's one bad mother. The best part in the entire episode, IMO, was YM telling Mai that he wanted her to kill his monsters, so he wouldn't have to clutter his mind with memories of his henchmen. Nice job.

This does bring the question: he was shown forgetting Strings and Arkana; does this signify anything? Perhaps a return for those two? Just speculation on my part.

Also, does it seem to anyone else that the God cards are way more trouble than they're worth? Let's look at the history: Pegasus was almost destroyed by them, Yugi was placed in the horrible position regarding Bakura, Mai would have won if she hadn't tried to summon Ra, Odion's a vegtable because Marik insisted he use a fake card...

And that's just the people who were *using* the cards; I'm not listing all the people they've been used against. *I* sure as heck wouldn't want to use one.

Jackie-Chan Adventures: Five Oni masks down, four to go. This epi was very entertaining, and everything worked out okay in the end. (Bad pun)

X-Men: Evolution: This was a completely average episode, which had the misfortune of being placed between a very disappointing episode and a higly anticipated one.

Next week, Apocolypse comes back, and in full attire! wh00t! We haven't seen him since he blew up Magneto like a bag of Jiffy-Pop.

So....I'm trying to decide what direction to take this page in? Nothing but blog? Reviews? Rants? All three? Any input is welcome.

Thought of the moment: I can't wait for "The Sacred Cards"...

   Bug Biz
Welcome to Bug Biz, my weekly reveiw of everything.

Let's get started with comic books...

Ultimate Six #2: Well, it took long enough, but the six are finally ot of prison. Doc Ock and Norman bury the hatchet, and the sixth member is revealed. And it ain't who you think...

Best Part: Doc Ock playing SHEILD like a Louisianna banjo.

Worst part: Two gripes. First, I still think the Sandman was more effective when he was totally silent. Second, will Bendis just choose an accent for Kraven and stick with it?! Jeez...

Spider-Girl #65: MayDay finally tracks down mr. Nobody and rescues DarkDevil, but she still has to find out who put the assassain up to it.

Best Part: Mr. Nobody still kicks arse.

Worst Part: The pic of Nobody getting zapped. uggy.

Now, this weekend's anime:

Yu-Gi-Oh: So, tell me why we're supposed to care at all about Marik's good side being gone? Exactly what has he done to make us like him? Heck, bring on his Yami, I say.

It's nice that Marik's finally going to duel, though. So far, he's only used cards that his cronies have played, but I'm sure that will change. Poor Mai.

Jackie Chan: This ep was nice, because we finally got to focus on Capt. Black a little. He's in most every good episode, but he's so under-exposed it's creepy.

X-Men: Evolution: I am so disappointed. After ignoring thje Rogue sub=-plot for weeks, *this* is all we get? No way! And why did Gambit have to involve himself in the resolution to a (formerly) intriguing story? It was kinda' creepy the way he's interested in Rogue when he's a lot older than her. Rape is a crime, Gambit! Just...ugh!

Sonic X: Well, I've never really been into Sonic, but why not? So, Robotnic tricks Knuckles into attacking Sonic, they figure out they've been tricked and save the day. It was enjoyable, but nothing too deep. I hope Shadow shows up at some point, though.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The one flaw in the new TMNT is they sometimes drag things out that don't need to be dragged out, and this episode was a perfect example. Just get to the fight with Shredder already!!

Shaman King: I so expected to hate this dub, but it was actually pretty good. If my biggest problem was changing "Ren" to "Lenny", they've done okay by me. The voices were okay, and it didn't seem like they edited too much. I hated the opening song, but I never hold that against a show.

I'm in love with Ren's sister...

Big O: Nice. Beck is back, Gabriel is showing his hand, Leviathen is almost ready, and some person is piloting Big Duo. I love this show! Only three more episodes...;_;

I alo saw the movie "SCchool of Rock". What'd I think of it? It was okay, but totally predictable. It did have, however, the most awesome soundtrack. Very nice.

Later this wekk, I'll do one more Transformers rant, then post a new Warrior deck. Also, the Homecoming reports! Ho-ha!

Thought of the moment: I'm still in love with Ren's sister.

Quote of the moment: "Why does everyone look so sad? We're here to celegrate the life of the Kingpib and crown his new successor! The King is dead! Long live the King!"-Mr. Nobody

Less than meets the eye?
So, going to the Transformers show last week got me wondering why I didn't stick with the little buggers after the conclusion of Beast Machines.

Then, it ocurred to me: the new Transformers suck.

I have a simple grading scale for cool Transformers. To be really coo,, they have to A) Look cool and B) have a cool personality.

Granted, these guidelines are entirely subjective. But, to me, no Transformers have met these joint guidelines since Beast Machines. My favorite characteres on that show were Jetstorm and Thrust. They were cool, and they had neat and unconventional designs. Yay.

What came next? Robots in Desguise. I didn't really get into that show; it was predictable, and the characters failed to "Grab" me. Plus, most of them were repaints anyway. Sorry, try again!

Then came Armada, which I also think is sub-par. However, a few of those characters seemed decent; I liked Sideways in particular, but his robot mode sucked. Cyclonous looked awesome, but had the personality of a brick. Letdown.

The coolest looking figure in Armada was "Predacon", a re-release of TRansmetal I Megatron. However, he does'nt appeare on the show; therefore, he has no personality at all. Sigh.

Universe is just a bunch of repaints.

Here's hoping the next Transformers incarnation doesn't disappoint like the last two have.

Expect Tv, comic & movie reviews tomorrow.

Thought of the moment: Bring back Dinobot!

Quote of the moment: "This is captain Jetsorm speaking. Please feel free to move about the tarmak and flee for your miserable little life!"-Jetstorm

I'm so very all alone...
Well, looks like I'm going to homecoming alone. *Sighs*

My friend Li-Chan is incredibly depressed. She does this every few months, and I always want to be there for her. But lately, it seems like everyone's either

*Swamping me with their problems; what else is new?

*oh-so-happy with their partner that they don't realize not all of us want to see that; again, what else is new?

At least "Smallville" is on.

   Manga, cartoons and Robots
So, after a long day, it's time for my perspectives on certain things...

I got three new mangas today: Naruto vol 1, Shamen King vol 1 & Yu-Gi-Oh vol. 2.

I love all three of these mangas, but as per each individual volume, I'm going to have to say that Shamen King was the best read. The first volume covered all the way from the first Reincarnation to Yoh's battle with Ren.

YGO & Nauruto, on the other hand, felt incomplete. YGO broke off right in the middle of the Shadi storyline, and Naruto broke off in the middle of the first training storyline. Bummer. =(

Saw YGo, Jackie Chan Adventures and X-Men:Evo today, as well. A blurb for each:

Yu-Gi-Oh: I think what I liked most about this duel is that Joey summoned every monster he won in Battle City against Odion; nice touch. Also, I loved the way he figured out that Odion wasn't Marik. And now, because Marik's a creep, he's going to @#$% the whole duel up. I just wish it had been concluded today...

Jackie Chan: Lame. I usually love JCA, but this morning's episode didn't have any of the qualities I enjoyed.

X-Men: Evo: The return of Spike! But wait...I didn't miss him, and never liked him in the first place...ohh... This episode was total filler, and i'm getting a wee bit peeved. Magneto is dead (?), are we going to examine the reprecussions of that? Apocalypse is still on the loose, but he only gets a mention. And are we ever going to resolve the fact that Rogue basically murdered Mystique? No, we're going to be left hanging another week to check up on the most boring X-Man. Weak.

Anyway, on to something I rarely speak of: Transformers. There was a Transformers event at the local Toys R Us, and I dropped by because I was in the neighborhood.

They're re-releasing Beast Wars/Beast Machines figures as part of "Transformers: Universe", but...well, the new colors on them suck. And, quite frankly, their choice of characters to release is a bit lacking.

I don't expect a lot, but I'd kinda' wanted them to release toys of characters that were on the TV show. Instead, we get Iguanus, Snarl, Striker...who are these freaks, and why should I care about them? I want Waspinator, Rattrap, Cheetor, Dinobot, Jetstorm...

Granted, they are releasing *some* relevant characters, but, (and this is a personal thing), they're all characters I'm not fond of. Silverbolt & Blackarachnia are friggin' boring when they're together, and I much preferred Jetstorm, anyways.

They get one good point for releasing Obsidion, but the maligning of his character in the lousy "T:U" comic cancels that out.

Who *I* want to see released (my own TF dream-team): Cheeotor (BM), Rattrap (any incarnation), Inferno (BW), Obsidion, Jetstorm, Waspinator/Thrust, and Dinobot (TMII).

Whilst in the mall, I scanned Pojo's latest YGO release, covering LOD. In the Killer Decks section, I found something *really* interesting.

Appsarently, the Pojo staff designed a brand-new deck archetype! (Gasp!) This deck would be a Beatdown that consists entirely of Light-attribute monsters!

Amazing! Why didn't I think of that?

Oh, wait, I did. Months ago. In fact, an all-Light deck remains one of my fave arch-types.

Not to diss Pojo, but when they said it was a "new" arach-type, I just cracked up. :D

Finally, Shonen Jump #11 came today, along with a reminder to renew my subscription. I gotta' say, that is one ugly cover. Can't all be winners, I guess.

I loved this ish, as usual. Highlights were the previews of games, cards and other mangas, the origin of Cell, the fact that Sand-Land is over, Hiei getting his butt handed to him, and Sakura showing the boys up.

Quite frankly, though, Yu-Gi-Oh is weirding me out. The implication that Mokuba would kill Yugi and Joey is a bit much, especially when we know how his character changes, but that's nothing compared to how Kaiba's being presented. It's been implied/stated that he killed his father, dealt with the Mafia, killed to get his Blue Eyes, would have driven Granpa insane, and wants Yugi and his friends to die.

That's waaaaaayyyyy too much to pile on one character, especially one that will eventually become a protagonist. Can we just fast-forward to Duelist Kingdom?

My, this was a long column.

Thought of the moment: The XYZ machines look wicked cool...

   I stand alone
Well, I asked two girls to Homecoming yesterday, and both of them already had dates. Dagnabbit... (You can tell I'm frustrated because I'm quoting a hillbilly.)

Speaking of hillbillies, don't see "Cold Creek Manor". It sucks.

I'm going to the mall today, mostly to pick up a new manga and search for the YGO Jinzo tin. I can splurge, because next week I get paid. =)

You ever heard a song on the radio and just stopped, because it sounded like the song was talking about you? That's what happened when I heard the new Matchbox-20 song "Unwell". I'll probably put the lyrics in my siggy.

I'm going to adopt a kitty from Ghostmaster's site. I'm not sure which one yet, but there are several candidates. Kawii!

Thought of the moment: Weird Al is a comic mastermind.

So...so...busy...
Aparently I sent the subtle signal to my teachers to pile as much homework on me as humanly possible.....thus the lack of posts...

I'm setting myself up for multiple humiliations, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I've selected three potential homecoming dates, and I plan to ask them all out until one of them says yes.

I couldn't think of a way to narrow the feild, so...I'm just going to leave everything to chance and ask in the order I see them...

This will suck, but I'm not getting a facial for homecoming just to show up with no date!!

Oh, and a big shout out to Ryo-Chan and Li-C! You gals are the greatest!

I need to go to the mall....

But...whatever..."Friends" is on! Yay!

I'm just tired...must nap...

Thought of the Moment: Yeah, I said I'm getting a facial...wanna' make a point of it?

   Evil Deck
Because of overwhelmingly positive response...well, okay, Bandit asked...but still...

Here's my Demon deck; the parents who complain that YGO is satanic...these be the cards they're talking about...

"Howl of the darkness" v 1.0

Tribute Monsters:
Dark Ruler Hades
Patrician of Darkness

Monsters:
Giant Orc
Giant Orc
La Jinn

Sinister Serpant
Spirit Reaper
Dark Jeroid
Dark jeroid
Opticlops
Opticlops
Sangan
Witch of the Black Forest
YataGaratsu

Traps:
Call of the Haunted
Destruction Ring
Bark of Dark Ruler
Magic Drain
Statue of the Wicked

Magic:
Monster Reborn
Regeki
Pot of greed
Change of Heart
Dark Hole
Harpie's Feather Duster
Mystical Space Typhoon
Mystical Space Typhoon
Mystical Space Typhoon
Mystic Plasma Zone
Mystic Plasma Zone
Metamorphasis
Ax of Despair
Ax of Despair
Nightmare Steel Cage
Premature Burial
Big Bang Shot
Book of Moon
Book of Moon
Riryoko

Fusion monster:
Dark Baltar the terrible

It includes cards from the next expansion and one of the promos from the new game. For reference:

GIANT ORC
Dark/Demon/4/2200/0
When this card attacks, it changes to defense mode at the end of
the Battle Phase. Until the end of your next turn, this card's
mode can't be changed.

BIG BANG SHOOT
Equipment Magic
Increase the Equipped Monster's attack strength by 400. If it
attacks a Monster in defense mode, and the attack strength is
greater than the defense strength, do Battle Damage to your
opponent equal to the difference. If this card leaves the Field,
remove the Equipped Monster from the game.

Anyway....evil, yup. Of course, The Patrician of Darkness is there only to be Metamorphed into the game's best fusion, (IMO), Dark Baltar the terrible. Big Bang Shot is the best card to equip to Hades, because Hades can't be revived from the cemetary. I think everything else is easy.

Now, what I'm thinking of doing is taking the best cards in my all-demon deck, and the best cards in my all-warrior deck, and splicing them together to form a new Demon/Warrior combo deck, tentativly titled "Hell's Army". I'll be tinkering with that for a while.

Thought of the moment: Is sInister Serpant actually evil?

Quote of the Moment: "I killed Bill Gates. Want a Ho-Ho?" -Mego Venom, "Twisted toyfare Theater"
