Everybody's workin' for the weekend
Well, today was a fun though busy day. Tomorrow will be an unfun but still busy day. Yay for me.

I went to the duel at Toys R Us this morning, and took Carly with me. I could have won, but since my first opponent was a ten-year-old, I thrw the match. The downside of playing at TRU is that you can't control who your opponent is, since they mix the age brackets. Brian, the guy who normally does things, tries to match us up evenly, but this guy today didn't. =(

Then, I came home, and did chores. Then I watched cartoons with Carly. Now, I'm giving you cartoon reviews, for the new fall season, plus yesterdays' deleted reviews of Joey, and some comics. ^^;

Joey: The Friends spin-off, and one of the three only 'real' tv shows I watch. The first eppie was solid, but not spectacular. I love Joey as a character, but this episode didn't do anything special for me. It just laid some groundwork, so I expect it to be better next time.

Jackie Chan Adventures: You know, I really expected more from this episode, setting up the new season. Maybe the show's just run its course. Draco, who seemed interesting the last time around, seems kind of lame today, and the whole thing felt rushed. Even the enforcers felt lame.

Xia Lin Showdown: This one felt a bit too slow; I didn't think a lot really happened. I didn't expect everything to get resolved, but...well, nothing did. At all. Next week should, hopefully, have a bit more substance.

The Batman: Okay, this was the big premeire, but it was hampered from the start. You see, there was no way it could be as good as the Batman cartoon of the nineties. Just couldn't be done.

That said, this was okay. My biggest concern was the Joker redesign, but he actually worked a lot better than I thought. He's clearly meant to be a completely different villian than the previous incarnation, and once I got past that, I was okay.

Yu-Gi-Oh!: Only two comments of note: they changed Rex Raptor's voice, and I don't like that at all. Also, I like the deck this new evil guy was using. That is all.

And...oh, yeah. Three more things to cover.

First, my friend Carolyn has *finally* listened to me and dumped the complete and utter jerkbag she was dating. ^__^ Good for her.

Second, I've finally got a somewhat concrete plan for my psyche project, but I'm not going to tell you yet. =P I'll save that for when I need material to fill another post.

Finally...^^;;

Well, yesterday, all I had to do was drop of a folder of school materials at Julia's house. No big deal right? I've been by her place before, but this time, I felt really, really nervous. Apprehensive.

So, basically, I have it bad for this girl. ^^; Yet, we're just friends, and I failed once to make it anything more. I've decided to wow her at Christmas time, with a really nice git. Don't know what it is, yet, but it'll be special, believe you me.

Everyone else just gets books. =P

And now, a moment of reflection, in honor of the heroes of 9/11/01.

Quote of the moment: "Yeah, that's why we had to change churches." -Joey

Thought of the moment: It's my birthday on the 20th. ^__^

Song of the moment:

"Believe", Yellowcard

Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Be strong. Believe.

Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring it down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us make sense of our despair)

Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change or two right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day

(The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here)
