I got into a discussion today with rather inept people about the concept of Armageddon- that is to say, the Christian [specifically Jehovah's Witnesses'] form of it. I always have frankly stated that such an action would be very unwise on the part of any god. I suppose that's very bold of a tiny mortal like myself to state [perhaps that's why I'm so out of favor with heaven these days] but the main reason I say that is that religion is probably one of the most blind crutches to use as a reason for killing someone. Spirituality is something that is tainted by violence. Of course, this is all from my point of view- some people think there are no good reasons to kill at all, some think that only some cases are right, etc. But in my opinion, as a very bored and apathetic person, religion is something that shouldn't be touched or marred by violence within itself. I would like to fantasize that, perhaps, we could somehow rise beyond that for something as seemingly transcended as spirituality- you know, there should be a certain point where something is so sacred to us that we don't purposely drag it into the mud. Alas, I'm not really a spiritual person. My beliefs are not rested in Christianity or any other mainstream belief, so I suppose I cannot really speak of the dealings of these "people". I just cannot see myself using religion as a reason to murder someone- I'm sure that if I wanted someone to really be six feet under that I could construct a much better, more meaningful reason for slaughtering them than that, you know?

Uh. With that said, there's nothing really new going on in my life- I bought a couple of new CD's [Weezer, Bush, The Killers] and a new game [Suikoden IV] but that's not that interesting, now is it? I suppose it's kind of boring, really. *stretches* I'm kind of in a better mood than usual, which implies I've attained nuetrality in my mood, lol. I am still not that tired.. so pardon me while I waste some time on quizzes.
