well, got my computer working again....only took 4.5 hours of restarting and running antivirus and antiworm programs to make it go again. unfortunately, i hadda get rid of aim for a while. then when i went to reinstall it, the only thing on aol's site is that aim triton thing...i hate that version. it looks so ugly, and the smileys are stupid...they look like they belong in an asylum instead of on my screen. if anyone knows how to get the older version of aim, i'd like to know please. maybe it's hiding on their site and i'm too blind to find it.

as for getting a new one purgatory, this one is new...i bought it the end of november =/ i dunno what i do to these things...maybe it's the fact i'm on here for like 15 hours a day or more...i overwork them i think...if my boss made me work 15 hours a day every day i'd die too.

damn computers
somehow i managed to fry my computer last night (posting this at school). i'm not sure what happened. i clicked back on my away message and started responding to someone, then i got the blue screen of death, so i turned the computer off and tried restarting it. now it gets right passed the windows xp screen (the one with the little green progress bar thingy), then it just starts humming and clicking (that 'computer thinking' sound), but doesn't go any farther. so if you're wondering where i'm at on aim, that's why i'm not around.

well, i just found out yesterday that my great aunt gladys died at 93 years old...in october...some customer at work that's friends with her said something about "since she passed on...." and i was confused for a second. i thought she was still alive. i just asked my mom when i got home if it was true. she said she's sure she told me at the time...i'm pretty sure i'da remembered that though. well, we weren't really all that close, but it still woulda been nice to know she was gone a little sooner.

well, i watched 'the island' yesterday and there's one scene i really liked...lincoln was talking to his friend (don't remember name...the mechanic guy...same actor that played the genious that went crazy on armageddon)...

mechanic: oh my god
lincoln: what's god?
mechanic: oh jeeze. you know when you close your eyes and you wish for something really hard? well, god's the one that ignores you.

ah, so true, isn't it?

worst day at work ever
well last night started out like any other night with a frozen load...me dreading doing frozen. then i saw the size of the load and decided it was small enough and with 5 people working it, it would be pretty easy...and i was right...that is until after we finished frozen. instead of going to lunch like normal our boss had us go help clean the milk racks from the dairy department. so first of all i'm pissed off about it because i get stuck doing someone else's job...not really a bad thing except for the fact that the guy's a total douche. all he does all day is sit in the back eating donuts and drinking coffee...then he goes and sucks up to the manager and whines that he doesn't have any time to get his work finished and can he please have some help. so the manager always gives in and sends us or a bagger to help him. when we tell the manager what's going on, they never listen and always think we're just trying to start something and get out of work because the dairy manager is the best employee in the store. he makes me wanna throw up. so anyway, back to the story...the milk racks have been cleaned once in the six years i've worked for this company (he didn't do it that time either...we did), so they're absolutely disgusting. they have mold and sour milk and all kinds of disgusting things and smells all over 'em. eventually we finish cleaning the damn things (after a lot of bitching and some dry heaving), but for the rest of the night we all smell like rotten milk and can barely stand to be anywhere near ourselves. and then we finally go to lunch...two hours late...which means it'd been a bit over 12 hours since i'd had anything to eat, so i was already getting worn out, headaches, and felt like i was gonna pass out...then you add that milk smell...

i'm just glad this is my last week on night crew. i might work it sunday next week, but after that i'm back in school and done with it for good. if only i'd been done last week so i didn't have to put up with that milk. god i just wanna strangle the dairy manager every time i see him. i can guarantee the next time we see him he's not even gonna thank us, but instead he's gonna say we have so many people stocking shelves and he's all by himself and can we please help him fill the gallons of milk or the yogurt...well ya know what? fuck you dairy manager dick. i'm sick and tired of cleaning up after you and doing your job for you.

(sarcasm) whew, some ice storm...we got a whole 1/8" of snow/ice and it lasted ten hours...but still the store got wiped out by everyone panicking to stock up on everything for the "inevitable icing in and end of life as we know it"...people are so predictable.

last night was pretty cool at work. the load was small, and i didn't really do anything on frozen. i pulled the frozen load out, then filled the ice...it's not as cold or shitty as the frozen aisle...no searching where anything goes because it all goes in the same spot. only downside to ice is it gets heavy after a while and if i lift wrong, my back hurts...we were out of 20 pound ice today, so i just filled the 7 pounders...they come in packs of 6 though, so i'm really lifting 42 pounds repeatedly instead of 7 (aren't you proud of my multiplication skills?). ah well, that's not the cool part...the cool part is rebecca (file maintenance one, not ex one) brought us cookies and so did rita. kelly bought us a pie, and husen made us prime rib roast and garlic, butter mashed potatoes. it's prolly the best meal i've had since working nights...husen freaked out when rita showed up though because he'd left his rotisserie thingy in the deli (we're not supposed to cook in there and rita was there to open the dept), but i managed to sneak in and get it out without her noticing, so he didn't get in trouble.

ok, so it's been really cold around here lately, so when the weatherman first said we could expect a change in the weather soon, i was happy...until he said it wouldn't be a dry cold anymore, but we can expect freezing rain soon...yippee...means another ice storm so i'ma get 2" sheets of ice covering all the roads...which means i'll get to work 7 days a week, because i live close enough to work that i can walk there, so i getta fill in for all the bastards that get iced into their houses far away. at least my paycheck will be big.

i saw the chronicles of narnia a few hours ago. it was pretty good even if it was pretty long and slow in parts. whoever that was that played the queen did a good job of pulling off the uber bitch role.
