who wants to hear about my fucked up dream? *voice in head (i do i do i do)* ok then, it's settled. last night (daytime for you normal people that aren't stuck working graveyard shift) i had this dream. it involved me sitting in a room playing poker with about 8 other guys around the table. they started talking about these murders that were rumored to be linked to some crazy chick in a torn up wedding dress. after a few minutes of them talking shit, one of them starts to say her name (i dunno what it is...never heard it in the dream) and someone else stops him. he tells him that if he says the girl's name, she'll hear him and come kill them all. the one guy thinks it's bullshit, so he starts repeating her name over and over again. nothing happens for a bit, and he tells the paranoid one that it's all a load of bull...just some stupid urban legend. well, the game continues for a minute and i notice a strange feeling. i look up at the door and standing in the doorjam is some girl with pale grayish skin, a torn, mildewed wedding dress (reminded me a little of samara from 'the ring') and she hadda cardboard box on her head. the box had no markings or eyeholes or anything...just a plain cardboard box that was over her head and face. i stare at her for what seems forever until one of the guys hollers at me that it's my turn to act, so i look at my cards, then fold. when i look up again, she's standing over one of the guys with a bloody knife and he's laying face down on the table. she then walks around the table killing them all one by one (none of them seem to notice their friends are dying) until she gets to me. she lifts the box and winks at me, then pulls the box down over her entire body and the box disappears with her.

happy happy day
i love hearing about bad things happening to people that've wronged me...does that make me an evil person? i love revelling in the misery of others...well, others that've hurt me or someone i care about. anyway, to the point...that douchebag (db for short) district manager (we'll call him frank...because that's his name) is no longer with my company. i'm not sure if he got fired or he resigned following some rumors that surfaced about him. now, remember this is just rumor, so don't read too much into it, but apparently said db was having an affair with two other women (one of whom is one of his direct subordinates...a manager at one of the stores in his district...rumor has it she was awfully chummy with the last district manager we had, but that's not part of my story). now company policy allows people to have relationships with their subordinates so long as the corporate office and human resources are informed so they can monitor the situation and make sure no special favors are performed for said subordinate. naturally, since he was running around on his wife, he neglected to inform the corporate offices and HR. we think someone's known for a while that this was happening but didn't do anything about it.things like this happen on occasion at my company (people know of someone screwing something up, but don't do anything until that person steps on someone important's toes so to speak), so myself and a few others are trying to figure out who's toes mr frank stepped on to get himself royally fucked...so far we're just thinking his wife found out and would naturally know her husband's bosses, so she told them, but we won't know until we get some more reliable information...it's all just speculation at this time.

god, i'm such a chick...i love juicy gossip...especially where it involves bad things happening to people i don't like. i've known about his affair for a few days now, but was told not to say anything, so i didn't, but now an official memo has been released stating he is no longer with the company (doesn't mention why), so i feel i'm now able to talk about it. :) i think him being fired is justified. this district lost several good managers and it's rumored up to 100 other people when frank became our dm...he's known to be a hardass, so no one wants to work beneath him. they all just quit or transferred out of his district...most quit.

i think this occasion calls for a happy song. this is one of my favorites from one of my favorite bands...they always make me smile.

my mom told me the stupidest thing i've heard in a long time today. apparently Time magazine wants to give hurricane katrina the person of the year award. how does that work? it's a freakin' hurricane, notta person. how can it win the person of the year award? and even if it were a person, why would you wanna nominate it? all it did was kill people and destroy stuff...might as well nominate bin laden while they're at it.

anyway, onto better things...i don't remember where i got this picture from. i think rebecca showed it to me a long time ago. anyway, it's my new desktop...isn't she cute?

i found a theater still playing serenity! check this place out. doesn't it look awesome? i've never been there before so i'ma go check it out with a couple girls i work with. should be fun. neither of them are 21 though, so we won't be able to go to the living room theaters, but that's ok.

last night at work we had half a pallet of olive cans fall over. the warehouse stuck 2 quarter pallets on top of a regular pallet, but both were on the same side of the pallet instead of on opposite corners, so the thing was off-balanced. the night-crew foreman had me stand on the other side of the pallet to try to counter-balance it, but there was a problem....i don't weigh 2000 pounds, so i wasn't a very effective counter-weight. as soon as he lifted the pallet on the pallet jack and moved it away from the wall, both 1/4 pallets fell over...luckily away from me. it took 5 of us to lift 'em back up, then their own weight tore a lot of the cardboard flats apart, so we spent 30 minutes putting the cases back together on a regular pallet that was well-balanced. other than that bit of excitement, last night was just like any other night with a frozen load...unload a buncha pallets, put shit on shelf, go on break, pull out frozen pallets, freeze my ass off putting frozen shit on shelf, go to lunch, come back from lunch, build front endbases and lobby displays for thanksgiving and christmas holidays, then go home.

good news and bad news
i s'pose i'll start with the good first. i gotta new tv...27" toshiba flat screen (wanted flat panel, but the cheapest of those is $550 for a 19"). it's a good tv though. i like it. even better than that, though, is firefly got here. for those of you that don't know (you obviously haven't been paying attention), it's the series that serenity was based on. it was cancelled after 11 episodes (14 episodes on the dvd) because some dumbass fox exec had his head too far up his ass to see how awesome a show it is. oh yeah, did i mention i love serenity and firefly? i'm going to see serenity tomorrow for the 6th time. got two or three other people that haven't seen it to go with me. hopefully they like it too...i wanna sequel...and even better would be to have the show back on the air (at a time i can watch it). so, if you haven't seen serenity, go check it out at least once. even if you don't like sci fi, it's well worth your time. except for the space ships, it doesn't even feel like a sci fi movie. some critics have claimed it transcends any genre of movie and that it could be the next star wars. i certainly hope so. as opposed to most sci fi movies, this one doesn't rely on special effects (though they are pretty good) so much as it focuses on the characters and their world. to me, that's what makes a good movie...being able to understand the characters and what makes 'em tick...to be able to put yourself in their position and feel what they feel. yes, the movie does have a cliche scene or two (not gonna tell you what they are because i think everyone should see the movie without knowing what's coming up), but they don't detract from the movie itself. ok, i'm gonna shut up about the movie now and talk about the bad news (someone told me the other day i should be a movie critic...maybe they're right).

now for the bad news...i got pulled over on my way home from school today. i wasn't paying attention to how fast i was going (just matching the speed of the jeep in front of me). i saw the cop car on the overpass too late when he started pulling into traffic...i looked at my speedometer then and realized i was doing 80 (in a 60 zone). the cop pulled me and the jeep over and said i was doing 78 according to his radar gun thingy. there are two good things out of it though...he got the jeep too instead of just me...and he said i was only doing 65 on the ticket. 65 in a 60 is a $71 fine...78 woulda been around $200+ so i guess it's a good thing he knocked it down a bit. ah well, i have 15 days to mail the check to the courthouse to avoid a court date. i don't even really care about having to pay the money (i'm guilty and i know it so i should be punished) as long as i don't have to waste my time going to traffic court about it.
