well, i've been talking about school a lot lately, so i figured i'd show you guys some examples of what i've been doing. you can click the pictures for a larger view of it. the first pic is a sample of what MatLab (the program we're learning now) does. MatLab uses arrays of numbers and commands to describe real life things. it can do pretty much anything (one of the guys in the class is trying to program it to bake a pizza...hope he figures it out soon...i'm hungry), but we're using it to simulate and visualize digital input signals. the instructor says the program should be easy to understand for anyone that's taken any programming in c classes, but i haven't, so i'm having some trouble figuring some things out. luckily it follows a lotta patterns, so once i find one, i can apply it to several different applications.
and the second is an example of a schematic i drew using PSpice. PSpice is an electrical circuit simulation program. you tell it the circuit, parameters, and hit the 'run' button and it simulates how the circuit will react. it's a pain in the ass to learn, but much easier to simulate than build each individual circuit and test them (after you learn to use the program anyway).
