hey, this thing works again.....
....it wouldn't lemme sign in for the past couple of days. anyway, just wanted to tell ya guys my scholarship finally showed up...just in time too.i was down to $80 and $93 in bills to pay...now i'm back up to $1500 and i actually have a couple of hours at work this week.

i'm thinking of finding another job though. my boss and i don't get along at all. we have all these things we're supposed to do with each customer (greet, give full attention, be accurate, give parting comment, thank by last name, and offer help out to their car)...most of those are ok, but the thank by last name is just stupid. well, anyway, i'd been having problems with that one (because i don't care), but yesterday at work, i was doing good...problem is i missed one person...and that one person happened to be some secret shopper that was grading me. he said i was perfect except for that one part, and because i missed that one part, i got dragged into the office where the boss basically threatened my job. lessee if i can remember his exact words...frank (district manager) is putting a lot of pressure on all the store managers to perform service, so when you don't perform, i get pressure from him. he said that if you're not going to play the game, you shouldn't be on the team...god, what's with all the cliches in my company. this place blows. thing i don't understand is how is thanking someone by their last name (which is often the wrong name printed on the receipt so i thank them by someone else's name) service? to me customer service is getting the customer in and out with everything they came for quickly and effectively while making sure they have a good time while they're there...no one likes grocery shopping, so i try to lighten the mood and make people enjoy themselves...and it works...99% of my customers love me, but is that good enough for the boss? of course not. i have to go through all these stupid procedures with each customer, but be natural and sincere while i do it? yeah right...set procedures for every individual turns you into a robot...here's an example of one of my co-workers...hi, how are you today? did you find everything all right? (order finishes) congratulations, you're eligible to get a 6 cent per gallon discount on gas now through june 15. here's your receipt, thank you (insert name) have a good day, would you like a carryout?...that exact wording in the same monotonous tone for every customer...how do people stay sane like that? know what one of my favorite things about all this service garbage is? they give me such a hard time about it, but when i watch the managers, they miss one or two of the attributes on just about every customer or every other customer. so, yeah, i think it's time to give my boss the finger and find a job that's not so full of ass kissers and hypocrites.
