First up, Mario Kart DS. I've beaten the grand prix cups up through 150cc and am now working on 150cc Mirror. Funnily enough, I breezed right through 150cc after having to really fight for first place on 100cc. Obviously I was (and still am) getting better at the game the more I played. But it also seemed very apparent that the game's tracks were meant to be raced at 150cc speeds. Swinging around turns while popping off mini-turbos seemed so much more natural as one power slide would lead right into the next.
Of course, 150cc Mirror was a bit of a blow to my ego after that. In all of the previous Mario Kart games, I never noticed 150cc Mirror being much, if at all, harder than standard 150cc. So it came as quite a surprise when I found the CPU karts were markedly faster and smarter on 150cc Mirror. I got my ass handed to me on my first few attempts. (I swear, the CPU karts get way too many spike shells.) It really pushed me to improve my skills, especially in regards to doing mini-turbos, and it payed off; I got my first 3 Star ranking while playing 150cc Mirror Shell Cup.
I also finally got to play a few online matches with Tony and Petie. Online play is fun as ever, but there was something missing. Namely, the ability to shout, "Fatty beat you down!" after winning and actually have them hear it. If only the game featured voice chat.
Right, next order of business: bitching about school. Okay, so there really isn't much to bitch about, but I do have a trigonometry test on Wednesday. Yes, the day before Thanksgiving, which is annoying. Especially considering we have family coming Tuesday and I'll be needing to do some studying. I shouldn't have any trouble with the test but the timing is still kind of a pain.
On the plus side, I learned today (well, technically yesterday -- Monday) that the final will be the only test left after this one and that it won't be comprehensive after all. I had doubts at the start of the semester, about my ability to do as well in trig as I did in algebra, but it's looking likely that I'll ace the class. Yay for teh math skillzors.
And finally, the third order of business. ... ... ... Okay, so there is no third order of business. That's all I got.
