Today's song is You're Not Here from Silent Hill 3.
Let me get some mundane stuff out of the way today... I'm feeling lousy because I've got some sort of cold or something. Won't be going anywhere today.
Yesterday my buddy Frank came over and we installed his 'portable' Photoshop on our computer, so we finally have a decent graphics program. Look forward to some neat banners and such.
Now that that's all said... my grandmother died this weekend. She passed away some time last night after almsot twenty-four hours of being in the hospital. She's always been a great supporter for everyone in the family, and I'll miss her a lot.
She's had cancer several times through her life, and she's always managed to pull through. But after the msot recent case, the doctors said that no matter what they did, it would stay with her for the rest of her life. Yesterday it caught up to her and she was rushed to the hospital. Almost my entire paternal family showed up at her room by the night. My two uncles flew in from out of state, and though she was asleep for her own sake for most of the time, she woke up just long enough to see both of them. Sometime last night she slipped away.
My sister doesn't know yet. She's been on a youth trip since friday, and she's getting back tonight. I hope she doesn't take it too bad.
Thank you for listening.

Update serial #426-873
Today's song is War? by SoaD.
So, we got the results for the art competition last week. The scoring is a number system with the final score for each piece being 1-4, 4 being the best. My drawing got a four and my sculpture got a three. Pretty exciting. For me, anyway. Plus, we're starting clay work in 3D design, which is my absolute favorite media because I can do anything with it. I am a clay god. Perhaps a bit of an overstatement of my abilities, but who cares.
On a completely unrelated note, I am once again eagerly awaiting November for an incredible game release. Gears of War 2 has been officially announced by good ol' Cliffy B and the Epic Games crew. Gears is one of my all time favorite games, but I haven't played it in a while, with all the great stuff that's come out recently. Such a shame.
Also added to the list of great games I'm looking forward to:
Halo Wars - I don't usually play RTSs, but come on... a Halo RTS?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Skies - A prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl, a bit of an under rated title from the Ukraine. I love it.
Super Smash Bros Brawl - Another game I may never get to play, but I'm still eagerly looking forward to it's release.
Fable 2 - The original really let me down, despite how entertaining it was. I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst with the sequel. We'll see.
That's all for now. Ah... I can only hope to play as many of these games as possible, though I can probably only afford less than half of them. Time to get a serious job I guess.
With that I bid you goodbye.

This is not a Valentine's Post.
This post has absolutely nothing to do with Valentine's day, so don't get your hopes up.
Song of the day is Say it Aint So by Weezer.
Anyway, VASE art competition is this weekend, and I'm taking two pieces. Not looking forward to getting up early on Saturday, but it can't be helped. I'm pretty confident.
I got Rainbow Six: Vegas last weekend, since it's cheap and entertaining. Korey will know what it is. Custom armor and camoflauge is fun too.
Speaking of games, '08 is lookin' good for gamers. There's plenty to look forward to. Here's what I'm excited about:
Spore - A game that let's you create and control an organism's evolution from a single cell into space travel? What is not awesome about that?
Army of Two - My best friend in PA, Matt, and I are always looking for new games to play online, and we love co-op. Army of Two is made specially for cooperative play, so we're both hoping it's a good one.
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Even if I don't have PS3, I can still eagerly await the next installment of an incredible series. Too bad I'll probably never get to play it T-T
Battlefield: Bad Company - I fell in love with Battlefield 1942 all those years ago, and from what I've heard about the newest game... it's gonna kick some ass.
Far Cry 2 - From the people who brought us Far Cry: Instincts and Crysis. Free-roaming. Need I say more?
I'm sure I'll think of more as soon as I finish this, so if I missed any obvious ones, feel free to expand on this list... Korey.
I've been watching unhealthy amount of anime ever since I found DeliciousAnime.com... has anyone ever watched Ouran High School Host Club? A bit of a chic anime, but absolutely hilarious. I'd also recommend Dennou Coil (listed as Denno Coil) because it's cool. And I totally requested from the admin. Has anyone seen Elfen Lied? I kept hearing how good it was, and finally watched a bit of it, unaware of how much nudity it contained XD Regardless, it's pretty cool.
To end this post, a quote from good ol' Cowboy Bebop (the movie): "Don't pull that 'art of war' crap on me! And you! You take too long to take a shit!"
Heh heh... I love that line.

*gasp* Dullest post yet?!
Today's song is Evolution by Korn.
Well, not much has really happened, but I feel like I should post just to break the silence. Was planning to go paintballing last Sunday, but neither of my paintball buddies could go, and I realized I didn't particularly want to go anyway. It was a mediocre day.
We're starting our animation project in computer graphics this week. It's not as fun as it sounds. I know because we did the same thing last year. A lot of tracing and re-drawing. But the end product is kinda cool, so I guess it's worth it.
My friend and fellow anime club officer showed me an awesome website full of complete-series streaming anime. DeliciousAnime.com. I can finally watch all the anime I've ever wanted! Assuming the video works, which it normally does. Azumanga Daioh doesn't T-T But I have been watching Samurai Champloo like a crack addict. Is there something wrong with me?
To end today's less-than-entertaining post, a quote from Portal (again): "Remember when I was like 'Goodbye' and you were all like 'No way!' and I was like 'We pretended we were going to kill you'? That was great."

Trend-breaker
Yes, breaking the tradition of our little trio copying each other's formats, I will not be posting a video. Deal with it.
Today's song iiis... F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. by The Fall of Troy.
Well, the second semester started today. Can't say it was an entirely bad day either. Though a cold front blew in and wreaked hell on my sinuses. Did I spell that correctly? Ah, who cares. It gave me a bitch of a headache.
We watched Escaflowne in club today, which brings me to my next item. This weekend I had a moment of weakness and bought the box set of Neon Genesis Evangelion. If anyone reading this has not seen or heard of this series, why in the hell not?! It is one of the greatest legends of anime! Or at least I think so.
Anyway, it cost me sixty bucks, which isn't so bad considering that's about the price of a new game. Ah, but there goes my extra cash...
How I'd love to go on a long rant about the glory of NGE, but it wouldn't be terribly interesting. Good night!
"You are so weak and fragile, like glass. You have my regard for it."
"Regard?"
"It means I love you."

Finality
Today's song is Still Alive, written by Jonathan Coulton. This is the song that plays during the credits of Portal. If they made a soundtrack with just this song on it, I would buy it. But to really see the hilarity of it, you have to play the game.
So, finals are this week, and I'm happy to say I am exempt from all but two of them. "All but two?" you wonder, "Are you a genious or something?" No. Our school's exemption policy is extremely lenient. I don't know why, since it's been proven over and over that we have some of the lowest test grades in the district. But whatever.
So I found out the other day that kittens usually learn not to bite from their siblings, since they play together and learn that biting is painful. Since Mouse isn't around his siblings, it's gonna take him a while. Fortunately, our older cat Oscar gets annoyed with him and bites back. So everything should work out.
I will leave you with a good Portal quote from GLaDOS (whose voice you will hear in today's song). "The Enrichment Center would like to take this opportunity to remind you that Android Hell is a real place, where you will be sent at the first sign of defiance."

Today's song, Sober by Tool.
Has anyone seen I Am Legend? Saw it a few days after christmas, and damn was it good. Not only is Will Smith an incredible actor, but it was the best zombie-style movie I've ever seen. My uncle told me an interesting fact about it - it's been made twice before, and was based off a book. The original movie was The Last Man on Earth, then The Omega Man. Haven't seen either, but they were apparently made in the 60s and 70s.
Now, onward to more topicness...
Any new year resolutions? I suppose mine would be to get into college. Not terribly exciting is it?
@ Korey: At the time I wrote last, I hadn't played Team Fortress yet. Far too busy with Episode 2. Now, having played it, I'll say this: it's good, but it's really the weakest part of the box. The general concensus is that Portal is the best part, but I would have to say Episode two. Also, TF lags.
Anyway, I'm glad you had a good time too. "It is a crowbar Gordon, the weapon of a Theoretical Physicist."
@ Steph: Happy new year sweety. ^_^ Mouse is cute like you too. A bit furrier though.

Aftermath
Well, the holiday panic seems to have calmed at last, and I've got plenty to ramble on about. Ah, but a song of the day, what shall it be? How about Down with the Sickness by Disturbed? I got that album recently.
So, Mom knew how much fun me and my sister had shooting my cousin's pellet guns when we go over there (and can't start a fire like usual because of a burn ban). So she got us one of our own for good ol' x-mas. We hadn't asked for one, but I'm glad she got it - with this target practice, I shall be ready for the machine uprising.
Also, I got Mass Effect (oh most holy of games!) and the Orange Box. As a warning, this post may be riff with Vortagaunt-like sayings such as "No pit is complete without a Freeman climbing out of it." You'll get that is you've played episode two. Portal is short, but possibly the most awesome thing I've played all year. "We will stop enhancing the truth in three - two - #!@%#$@#@..."
With the money I got from various relatives, I went a bought Guitar Hero III, splitting the cost with my sister 25-35 since she plays it sometimes. They have the Halo Theme MJOLNIR Remix available as a free download. How fucking sweet is that? (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go by the Halo 2 soundtrack.)
Anyway, perhaps most exciting is this - we got a kitten. My cousin does volunteer work at their local fire station, and a few weeks ago they found a kitten inside one of their walls. No idea how it got in there. Anyway, my cousin Grayson took him home, but my aunt and uncle had no desire for another pet, so they were hoping someone else would take him home over the holidays. So we did. We've named him Mouse, and he's gray with lighter gray stripes all over. And he likes to bite. Very bitey. But he's a kitten.
That's all for now. May the vortessence be with you. Yeah, that's right, a Star Wars / Half-Life pun. Hoo-ah.

I awaken to seek redemption among the living...
Yeah, random. Anyway, today's song iiiis... Knights of Cydonia (yes, it's spelled wrong in the player) by Muse. Y'know, for the longest time I thought it was by Queens of the Stone Age. Blah, radio.
So, you're probably wondering why I haven't posted for so long, and perhaps why I have now deemed to do so. Answer? No reason. Haven't felt like it. Deal with it.
So, today we had a holiday party in anime club, since it was our last meeting before the break. Basically we just had pizza and watched anime for twice as long as usual. Great fun.
For a friend of mine, I've decided to give her my two volumes of Demon Diary, since I think she'd enjoy them a lot more than I did. And before you go getting ideas, she already has a boyfriend. And I'm not that interested in her anyway... besides, she's a freshman. Nothing against fish, but at our age three years is a bit of a gap. It would be awkward.
Vase art competition is coming up in February (If you don't know, Vase is a competition where anyone in the school can submit their art and have it displayed. You might not win a damn thing, but it's satisfying to have it out there.) However, to submit anyhting, you've gotta be passing everything. Normally this would not be a concern for me, but they're using this grading period's grades, in which I have failed spectacularly in French. I've still got time to get my grade up, but it's not looking good. Which pisses me off. This is the one year that I've had some decent art to submit. Freshman year I transfered in late in the year, sophemore and junior years I only took computer art courses. Korey, don't you fucking dare lecture me on being on top of my grades. It's a foreign language for fuck's sake. I'm horrible at it.
So what's on everyone's christmas list this year? I'm praying for Mass Effect. If ever there was a game that had my name written all over it. It calls to me like the one ring to Golem.
Good god, I play video games far too much.

Blargh.
Well, I suppose I should update... song of the day is Feel Good Inc. by the Gorillaz. Who can resist that funky beat?
So, Thanksgiving was pretty nice. We went to my aunt and uncle's house (not the same one as last week) and had a good time with my mom's side of the family. We couldn't start a big fire in their pit like we usually do since there's a burn ban in the area right now. That was a downer. However, we did bust out my cousin's pellet guns and had a fun time shooting cans, paper targets, and the occasional light bulb. One of my cousins got a crazy accidental shot and hit the wire of a string of lights - knocked 'em all out. Uncle wasn't too upset about it. They cost like, twenty bucks.
Anyway, today is our next Halo party. The kids (or rather, the boys) in my youth group decided to start up a monthly LAN party in the church, but not offically call it a youth group event, thereby avoiding the criticism of some of the parents. We're now calling it FLC-LAN (FLC being the initials of the church). I bring my 360 and Joseph brings his, we hook 'em up and fight 4v4 matches (possible because another friend donates his controllers). I shall dominate them.
Next weekend, the 1st and 2nd, is the next big event at Tactical Paintball (if anyone's interested, go to www.tacticalpaintball.com - the pre-reg date is past, but you can still go for a little extra). This one's based on Gear of War (how awesome is that?!) and goes from 10 saturday morning to 2 Sunday afternoon. Non-stop. I'll deffinately be taking a good long break sometime in the night. But best of all, I'll be using my new Tippman A-5. I never could fix the gun my friend gave me (he's gonna sell it on Ebay for me and give me my money back). But tha A-5 is, frankly, the shiznit. Reliable and inexpensive (as far as paintball guns go). The guys at Tactical that have used one all swear by it. I asked my mom to help me pay for it, on the promise that I would pay her back when I'm able. So I've been looking for a job. Gamestop no longer has openings T-T
Replies-
@ Korey: I explained that last time... -_-*
@ Steph: *hugs* You're a great person Steph. I hope you always remember that.
