Song of the day is gonna be... Cloud Age Symphony by Dolce Triad. This song is featured in the intro of Last Exile. Japanese Techno. Heh.
So yesterday I got back from the annual spring break family reunion (with my mom's side of the family). It's always a great time, and this was the first year I drove to it on my own. Or rather, with my sister. Mom took her own car and left us directions. The reunion takes place at this little 'lake resort' called The Antlers. Every year my family rents out almost the entire place (it's not real big) and hangs out from Friday to Sunday morning.
If there's one thing my family loves to do, it's fish. Every year, regardless of the weather, anyone who wants to gets up at six Saturday morning and goes out on my uncle's boats (two uncles, two boats) and attempts to catch as many white bass as possible. This year was freezing, yet there we were, trying to catch fish that really weren't there... they don't like the cold any more than we do.
Fortunately, it warmed up later in the day and most anyone who tried long enough eventually caught something either off the dock or off in a row boat. The best catch of the day belonged to my cousin's boyfriend who caught a rather large black bass on his first cast. Which of course meant the rest of us had to try and out do him (it didn't happen). Though for numbers, a different cousin's husband caught somewhere around eight fish by trolling close to the shore in a kayak.
Anyway, everyone overate that day, per the tradition. As a result I barely ate anything on Sunday from lack of hunger... but hey, I did get some exercise. And some mild sunburns.
This post is getting long. Let's end it, hm?
"You a ladies man Bob? Don't mind if I call you Bob, do ya? I used to know a Bob... god, he was ugly as a mule."
