Is everyone as excited about Christmas as me?! I can't wait!
This Christmas might not be as good as the previous years. We've been having family issues so things aren't going to be the same.
First off, the whole family won't be opening gifts together. When I say whole family I mean twenty-five people. That includes immediate family (siblings and parents as well as myself, which is fifteen), nieces and nephews (seven), one brother-in-law, my older sister’s boyfriend, and my older brother’s girlfriend. We usually gather into the living room after our turkey dinner (which would be around 2:00) and open them. Everyone always comes over to our parents’ home which, right now, is in a duplex. So you can now see problem number one. Though we’ve managed for four or five years some of the family members don’t like it. Though we know that’s not the real reason. They just don’t like opening presents with the rest of the family because they have their own. Family, that is.
Second of all is that we won't be having dinner together either. We will still be doing it but it will be for two days. The first day (25th) some will be able to come and others won't (due to work and such) the second day (26th) will be the same but of course different people will be coming. My parents and the five youngest living at home (including me) will be there for both and perhaps others.
Thirdly, the unwrapping of the gifts will be on Christmas Eve in the evening for us at home. Some of the other family will come (such as my older sister and her boyfriend).
So all around it will be a very weird Christmas but I'm hoping it'll be just as good as the last.
