   scantily-clad lesbian fairies!
Listening to: "Inner Universe" - Origa

Damn! I had it when my Internet messes up, shuts down, and makes me lose everything I typed.

Anyway, A Midsummer Night's Dream turned out to be very interesting. Shakespeare was already dirty-minded, but this took it to a whole new level w/ major yaoi- and yuri-ness. I understood the latter b/c Oberon and Puck were females, but yaoi-ness was just pure humor. I guess it's to satify the groundlings. The humans wore normal modern-day clothes while the fairies looked like lingerie models. I loved Cat's (Oberon) look though b/c she could of come right out of a piece by Selena Fenech, Amy Brown, or Nene Thomas (I know my fairy artists ^_^). Phil totally fit the role of Bottom, not to say that's he's a jackass (both the donkey and idiot), but I couldn't see anyone else who could play the role better.

I've become addicted to Hellsing, which is bad b/c I need to work. I'm gonna try to force myself not to watch during the next weekend, but I don't know how that's gonna turn out. I'm also gonna spend less time on-line b/c I REALLY need to do well on my next tests/papers and rehearse.

Quote of the day: "The course of true love never did run smooth." - Lysander in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream

   blah
Listening to: "Devour" - Disturbed

We almost had a PG-rated dinner until Chris brought up the fact that we didn't mention sex or violence. That of course jinxed us. I'm so tired that I don't remember what we talked about, other than Phil wondering if faking one's death is a crime and Gabe walking around in his bathrobe. Oh yeah, we made fun of Chris' Britishness again. Everyone except Elyse has been worn out. I caught Cat, Gabe, and Jared napping in the movie room. Even our rehearsals was uneventful. Well, before things started, Eric found a bird that kept running into walls. He and Dennis finally deduced that it was blind b/c it stayed on Eric's hat while we stared at it. Poor thing!

Quote of the night:

Chris - "Gabe, are you wearing a dress?" (apparently Gabe had made the same comment once when he wore a bathrobe)
Phil - "It's a dressing gown. Get it right you Brit!"

   feels like a Monday
Listening to: "Obsession" - See-Saw

Just got back from watching Advent Children w/ Chris and his buddies and then hanging out in the movie room. I've just realized how much of a nerd I am. At lunch, we were debating whether Robin from Teen Titans was Dick Grayson or Jason Todd. We were also talking about the ambiguity (or lack there of) in the morals of DC characters. I still kind of stood out as the anime lover. Becky and Joe like a few series, but not too many. You can imagine how things went down when we watched Advent Children although I did behave...somewhat. It's still awesome the 2nd time around.

Anyway I'm sleepy. Tomorrow is a big day. I may or may not move out. My parents keep switching on which they prefer. I guess it's all up to the masters.

   Will Cluck for Beer
The title is a reference to a stand at the Southlake Town Square Oktoberfest. There wasn't so much stuff, but it was fun. The band was pretty good (although I thought they didn't do The Clash justice). I still had fun singing along w/ the songs they played though. I wanted to dance, but I would've looked stupid being the only one.

Kira also came over today, and we had a fun time catching up. It's great to be home w/ my old friends and family. My family seemed to enjoy the stories about the crazy things the guys do/say (of course I didn't tell them about the real perverted stuff).

Oh, I just saw Naruto, and I remembered something my dad said today, in reference to what I'm currently going through. It was something along the lines of what Kakashi said during last week's episode about betrayal. I just thought that was rad.

love for some, hate for others
Listening to: "Bother" - Stone Sour

The stress is killing me, and it's in a literal sense. I'm gonna see if the people at the Wellness Center can do something about it tomorrow. I don't know if I can survive this week, but I'll try my hardest. Even though I've gone on the offensive, there's only so much I can do. I hate not being strong enough. I hope I don't disappoint my family.

The one thing that keeps me going (other than crazy dinners) is what I consider my extended family. I don't know what I'd do w/o Gabe, Rob, Parker, and Jared. They've given me a place to hang out and study, and they've heard me out on my problems. They've also shown me more fun than I've ever experience last year. These guys rock, and I gotta find a way to make it known, other than a silly (but sincere) tribute poem on my Xanga.

Less than 4 more days before I go home...

   Rita update
Listening to: "Only" - Nine Inch Nails

Looks like Rita has bypassed Houston although I heard that my buddies stuck at Rice were busy yesterday boarding up windows. I'm relieved that things aren't so bad. My mom is pissed that we don't even get rain in Dallas. B/c of the evil traffic that will happen when everyone returns, Monday classes are cancelled. That means Dennis and I are flying back Monday afternoon instead of tomorrow evening. Yay, more free time!

I brought back a lot of tapes from the anime club library to watch at home. I saw some of Weiss Kreuz, and my mom wants to watch some of Hana Yori Dango w/ me. On the car ride 2 days ago, I finally saw the 1st Ghost in the Shell movie. Eric and I watched some of Ninja Scroll too; it's really graphic. Anyway I gotta go eat.

   I am a refugee
Listening to: "Rebel Yell" - Billy Idol

Surprisingly, my friends and I are still making light of the 3rd largest Atlantic-based hurricane in history. There's no point in freaking out; it just creates nasty people on the road. Although my parents came down Wednesday night, we didn't leave until yesterday at 6 AM. There was no way to get out of Houston. Some people changed their minds about leaving b/c the traffic was so awful. Dennis came along w/ us, and the trip took a total of 20 hours. That's about how long it takes to fly to Taiwan. :o Now I'm back home, still tired and hungry.

Big thanks to the people who helped us w/ the trip-- especially Dennis for driving part of the way, Marshall for giving us directions to the back roads, and Russell (Dennis' roommate) for letting my dad crash in their room. I hope everyone made it back to Dallas, Austin, San Antonino, etc. okay and that everyone riding it out at Rice will be okay.

   Hurricane Rita
Listening to: "Endless Story" - Ito Yuna (yet another song from the NANA movie. This one is beautiful but sad; I think it plays during the train scene.)

Well, I've been living in a hole b/c I didn't know anything about Rita until some people were talking about missing mythology class this Thursday. It's a bit ironic since the hurricane is supposed to be coming on Parent's Weekend. Not to mention the Dalai Lama is showing up on Thursday (unfortunately I didn't get tickets to that). If worse comes to worst, then I guess I can hitch a ride w/ my parents back home. Hopefully nothing bad will happen. I'm not too worried b/c I've got enough things to stress about for now.

   Dance!
Listening to: "Erin Shore" - The Corrs

I should stop it w/ the double posting, but I guess if I wait a couple minutes, this will show up as the next day.

The Irish dance workshop was so much fun! I'm not gonna be performing in Riverdance any time soon, but if Flogging Molly or The Corrs happen to come on while I'm in a pub, then I can show off a bit. Of course, it works better when you have at least 4 people, or even just a partner. Anyway, I totally forgot about being sick for the time being so there may be reasons why everyone should dance. There's something magic in dancing; maybe it has to do w/ the energy of you and others. Also, I must have a bit of Irish in me. I love Celtic music, art, mythology, and language.

Quote of the evening: "To dance, above all, is to enter into the motions of life. It is an action, a movement, a process. The dance of life is not so much a metaphor as a fact; to dance is to know oneself alone and to celebrate it." - Sherman Paul

   eh, back to reality
Listening to: "Somebody" - Bonnie McKee (gorgeous song, gorgeous girl, gorgeous voice)

I'm gonna keep this brief since I have an orgo test to study for. New Adult Swim line-up! Yay! Jakotsu and Bankotsu get funnier by the episode. There was a really funny, shounen-ai moment last night. I'm really stoked about FMA. In fact, I decided to post a poem I wrote last year in celebration of this new season. The fanfic link. Eventually I'll get around to the Gungrave fic I've been wanting to write and also finishing up my Riza Hawkeye story. Aaaahh, so much work!

I forgot to mention that today is the Chinese Moon Festival. It's also known as the Mid-autumn Festival although technically the Autumn Equinox is Thursday. Anyway, it's a time to pay tribute to the fairy on moon, Chang Er, and her pet jade rabbit. Basically it's a time for friends and family to gather and eat moon cakes. Although I'm not w/ my family, I did get to eat moon cakes, courtesy of the Chinese Student Association. There's a whole story about moon cakes and Chang Er; you could probably find it on-line.

Quote of the day:
"It has to happen like this. I'm just too nice." - Izumi-sensei in Fullmetal Alchemist Episode 27 (I think). I totally understand how she feels.
