And I ran....
Listening to: "2BFree" - Tommy heavenly6Today was a good day. Only 2 classes and there's an 80s themed party tonight. There's gonna be a live band called Molly and the Ringwalds. I'm so stoked b/c I LOVE the 80s. My outfit is gonna be something along of the lines of Joan Jett meets Billy Idol. They were selling jewelry at the Student Center today for really cheap. I couldn't help but get 2 spiked bracelets (2 b/c I know Eric will want 1). I also bought 2 earrings for my mom. I would've bought an ankh necklace, but I didn't want to spend too much and I wasn't too fond of the design. Anyway, I'm gonna finish watching Saiyuki Requiem now. They're gonna shut down the Internet in 10 minutes for maintenance stuff. Quote of the day: "You see us as you want to see us, in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out, is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basketcase, a princess, and a criminal." - Breakfast Club (one of the best movies ever!)

Advent Children, hell yes!
Listening to: "The Funeral of Hearts" - HIMI was so exhausted today after my bio test, counseling session, and meeting that I wound up hanging in the guys' room. The subject of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children got brought up, and Parker, Gabe, and I decided to watch it after dinner. We got Jared into it w/ the nice teaser trailer (Jared loves any good animation), and Eric S. joined in when he heard about it. Becky and Daniella were wanting to watch a movie so it wound up being the 6 of us. Oh my gosh, the movie was spectacular! It is just a feast for your eyes, and those who didn't know about FFVII still enjoyed it (although they were a bit clueless). The fanservice went both ways so we fanboys (Eric and Gabe) and girl (me) were happy. I want to watch it again! Thank you Parker for finding the fansub. Quote of the night: "I won't be just a memory." - someone in FFVII: Advent Children (sorry but I won't spoil it =P)

a brief note
Listening to: "TAO" - Do As Infinity (who just broke up =/ )Okay I should be studying like crazy for my cell bio test, but I have to do this first. *dances in circles* I got my ADV stuff! They even gave me a free DVD b/c I bought 3 items. :D Random conversation of the day: (this is from anime club last night) Greg: "Why is it that in anime, every alien happens to be a humanoid busty woman?" Sean: "Hey, there's nothing wrong w/ that." Greg: has the ooookaaay look Me: "I have no problem w/ that as long as winged pretty boys exist." Sean: "And that's why we're showing DNAngel after Onegai Teacher."

Orgo can be amusing.
Listening to: "Can't Repeat" - The OffspringI wasn't gonna update today b/c I've got a lot of work (despite the meeting getting postponed to Thursday). However, my orgo prof, Dr. Lapinsky, was really hilarious today. He's younger than most science profs, but I think he tries too hard to be hip. He's made references to Seinfeld (Newman projections) and Memento (b/c he's always telling us to get a tattoo of certain rules). Also, his trademark phrase is "The take-home message of this is..." You can't have class w/o him saying it at least twice. I'm actually enjoying orgo b/c Dr. Lapinsky presents the stuff in a very clear manner. I do need to catch up on my reading though... Random quote of the day: "It's like the Black Eyed Peas song: 'No, no, no, no.'" - Dr. Lapinsky emphasizing how not to draw enantiomers.

ninjas and pirates
Listening to: "Dark Wings" - Within TemptationTonight's gonna be exciting! 1st off, Naruto makes its American debut. I know I'm not gonna like the editing, but I have faith in the translations and voice acting. Cartoon Network probably knows how many people will be pissed if they mess w/ the series too much. Afterwards, I'm headed to the pirate party. I've got my outfit planned, and hopefully I'll see some friends there. It should be fun as long as the freshmen don't get drunk too early. I hope my hitting the party scene this year won't interfere too much w/ studying. My life is complicated enough (despite the really good things that have been happening lately). Random quote of the day: "How does somebody 'accidentally' bury a leg in their back yard?" - one of my lines in "Reese and Babe"

Hooray for the weekend!
Listening to: "Glorie dans le silence" - Moi dix MoisI don't think I can really celebrate that much though b/c I've got 1.5 papers (half b/c we're completing the bio paper in parts) and my 1st test next week. That's not gonna deter me from going to the Lovett pirate party tomorrow, although Adult Swim may. Anyway, I'm still glad it's Friday b/c I had an easy day today. Only 2 classes, and 1 was more of a homework help session. Oh yeah, the summary of Reese and Babe by Lew Holton. Consider this your quote for the day. ^^ "Reese has buried his wife Babe's classic 1965 Mustang in the back yard. Why? Call it a panic attack. They both thought that Babe was involved last night in a freakish hit-and-run accident, hitting a child on a dark, foggy stretch of road. Now they've just found out that it was not a child, but a chimpanzee. A Wonder Chimp, actually, from the circus. And suddenly there's a clown at the front door, and the police are on the way. This could get ugly. Or just very, very funny." Random quote of the day: "...Heartless things/ Are done and said in the world, and many worms/ And beasts and men live on..." - "Alastor, or the Spirit of Solitude" by Percy Bysshe Shelley

Good evening
Listening to: "Birdcage" - GacktCould this night have gotten any better? Not only did I write a poem and am done w/ the stuff that's due tomorrow, I also went to 2 study breaks and joined 2 organizations. 1st however, dinner was hilarious. The guys came up w/ a very dirty idea for a shirt that deals w/ a Baker cheer that's a rather perverted pun. I volunteered to wear it if it ever gets made so there's gonna be a group of us. Yeah, we're bad children. ^^ 2nd, I auditioned for Baker College's one-act play "Reese and Babe." My good buddies are producing so I felt like I should give it a shot, even if I'm not very good at fast-paced comedies. Then, I went to the info meeting of the school's literary magazine. Hopefully my submissions will be good enough to make it. While I was there, I spotted one of my friends, and it turned out that he was a member of the Taiwanese Association. Since they're a laid-back group, I decided to join. The shaved ice helped persuade me. After that, I went to another study break. This was at our RAs' place. We had California rolls, edamame, and orange soda while watching The O.C. Since I had seen some of it, I left early. To my luck, I caught my producer buddies while walking back to my room, and I got 1 of the 4 parts! ^_^ I play a cop who investigates a hit-and-run incident involving a chimp from the circus. I'll post a summary tomorrow b/c I'm getting ready for bed now.

new fanfic poem!
Listening to: "Eternal Snow" - Changing My LifeI'm back to writing fanfic stuff again. This time, Gungrave is my muse. I love the characters and the portray of their different relationships with one another. I haven't seen very much, but I think the 1st half is a gigantic flashback on how things came to be. Brandon's story is so tragic, and it's only gonna get worse (he's technically dead in the present after all...no I didn't spoil anything). Anyway, here's the link! Yes, I am obsessed w/ The Outsiders. After all, it was what inspired me to be a writer. Quote of the day (this is an addendum to the poem): "Maybe the two different worlds we lived in weren't so different. We saw the same sunset." - Ponyboy in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

livin' the life
Listening to: "Every Single Night" - Huang YiDAIt's a bit unusual for me to post on the same day, but man tonight rocked. I was a bit worried that this week wasn't gonna go so well, but I think I'm branching out and exploring who I really am as a person. I did a lot of cool things like sign up for yoga, attend an aikido class, audition for A Midsummer Night's Dream (I don't care if I'm selling my soul to theatre again; I am dying for a part), and meet some freshman. Even if I'm gonna hurt tomorrow morning, I enjoyed our little practical self-defense session. It kind of sucks being the only girl among guys that have martial arts training and outsize you big time. I'm still hurting, but I was winded pretty badly. However, I have my own advantages--one of them being "sharp knees." Afterwards, I didn't want to do any work so I hung out in the guys' movie room. We wound up watching Wedding Crashers (I don't promote illegal downloading, but I'll take what I get ^_^). It was freakin' hilarious! Anyway, I go home tomorrow so I should get packing. Quote of the night: "If we shadows have offended/ Think but this, and all is mended/ That you have but slumber'd here/ While these visions did appear/ And this weak and idle theme/ no more yeilding but a dream/...So good night unto you all./ Give me your hands, if we be friends/ And Robin shall restore amends." - Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

I'm back...for now
Listening to: "Open Up Your Mind" - MIRAI I felt the urge to post b/c I've watched a lot of really good anime lately. First off, Howl's Moving Castle totally rocked! Miyazaki rules, and now I want to read the book, which I heard was even better. Considering what I'm going through, I could relate to the struggles of both Sophie and Howl, who IMO looks better w/ dark hair. Actually, to think of it, I could pull of a Howl cosplay w/ my current hair length. I am so in love w/ him even though I think Sophie is perfect for him. Christian Bale has such a sexy voice! Anyway, Calcifer stole the show w/ his one-liners. It's Billy Crystal right? Tonight was the 1st meeting of anime club. Turnout was great, and I think I've made a friend along the way. I'm not the token girl anymore, but that can change later in the year. Here's what we're watching (and my impressions): Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Major Kusagnagi is my hero and I want a Tachikoma. Nuff said. Gungrave - Action sequences seem a bit out there, but Brandon Heat is cool. His past seems straight out of an S.E. Hinton novel so I dig the angst. Onegai Teacher - Not as bad as I thought. Although the alien teacher thing is ridiculous, there were some funny moments. D.N.Angel - Most people probably found this confusing, but since I knew the back story, I enjoyed it. I need my winged bishounen fix. ^^ Quote of the day: "Out of life's school of war: What does not destroy me, makes me stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche, The Twilight of the Gods (I need to actually find this book or anything else by Nietzsche b/c I agree w/ a lot of what he has to say, which often graces quotation websites).
