   Lunar New Year celebration
Listening to: ShinHwa "Wild Eyes" (since the guys' Kpop dance, I can't get this song out of my head)

The Lunar New Year celebration was hot! That's the only word that describes it. It was put on by various Asian student associations and was free to Rice people. Amanda and I had helped out w/ decorations, which turned out very nicely (especially the RMC doors). I decided to wear the red chi-pao style dress that I wore to prom. Inspired by Kaoru's "Myaku" look, I added fishnets, boots, and my vinyl jacket. Of course I couldn't get my hair to spike up, but coincidentally, it stuck up like a rooster. ^_^ (For those of you unfamiliar w/ the lunar calendar, it's the Year of the Rooster).

Kati, Elizabeth, and I went early since the line was already getting to be long. The food was good, but I was there for the performances (unlike most people). Kati's roommate Elecia was in the girls Kpop dance. They did the routine from BoA's "Valenti" PV. There were Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Cambodian, and Korean dances--traditional and modern. The traditional dances were cute (espeically the fan dance), and the Vietnamese tango was hot. The Cpop dance was cool, but undoubtedly, the boys Kpop dance stole the show. They had it down the the chairs (Elizabeth was shocked when I showed her the "Wild Eyes" PV). There was also a puppet show (which Elizabeth thought was getting to be too dirty w/ their jokes), a funny movie about what happens if Rice gets "Seoul-ed," and a martial arts performance. Chris choreographed that, and I wish I could've had a better view. It featured different styles and basically had a Street Fighter/Tekken flair. Of course, the lone femal martial artist kick all the guys' butts.
Overall, it was a fun experience. Amanda and I have been inspired to do a performance for next year.

Nothing much else has been happening. I went to dim sum w/ a group of Bakerites today. Last night, we were watching America's Next Top Model b/c they featured Japanese street fashion (Harajuku all the way!) and we liked one of the contestants. Her name was Amanda and she was very pretty, classy, and unique. She didn't win, but she won over the supposed mean judge.
