Kamikaze Con Day 1
Listening to: "Real Emotion" - Kumi Koda (or Koda Kumi in Japanese order)
I'm so glad I went to the concert. It was worth the 2.5 hours of standing in line and running around downtown w/ Sean, the anime club president. I didn't do much other than wait for the concert. I did cosplay as "Saku" Toshiya, but I guess there weren't enough J-rock fans to recognize it. I took a peek at the dealer's room and ran into Cassidy (a friend from high school).
Kumiko Kato opened the concert. She's still pretty new to this so she didn't have as much of a stage presence. However, she was cute, and she was daring enough to sing in English. Kumi Koda's performance began w/ 3 male breakdancers. Now I'm usually not into the whole Asian hip-hop gangster look, but the way they moved was hot. Same goes for Kumi and her female dancers. She's much racier in both clothes and dancing, but it was never too distateful. Plus she's got a great voice and dancing skills to back it up. Her performance was super energetic, and now I can't get enough of her music. I used to not like R&B, but I like her songs a lot. Unfortunately cameras weren't allowed so maybe I'll give a very detailed summary some other time.
