   Anime unites the worlds
Listening to: "Is This Love?" - Ayumi Hamasaki

Before I go fan-girly, I just want to mention that I've got another article in my myth series up.

The reception was (and I'm gonna slip into my skater/biker slang) totally sick. I can't really put to words how awesome the experience was, and Becky agrees. The Consulate General's house was huge and cool-looking. He and his wife were super polite, and the whole event was very classy. There were people serving us (I could've gotten alcohol if I wanted to, but I don't really drink), and the refreshments included sushi, egg rolls, and desserts. Watanabe-san was personally introduced to our anime club, and we got a picture. I must note that he always has sunglasses in his public photos. During the "mini-talk," we saw the 5th Session of Cowboy Bebop, and then he discussed the evolution of anime and his inspirations. I didn't get a chance to actually meet Vic Mignogna and Tiffany Grant (curse my shyness!), but I did get Watanabe's autograph. Our anime club also met the other big college anime club from U of H. We were joking about how this is the one time where we won't let our cross-town rivalry get in the way. In actuality, the guys were very friendly, and they invited to go to their meetings. Overall, it was an amazing experience that I'm glad I had the opportunity to attend. Becky was thankful that I made her my guest, and I think I turned her into an anime fan. Tickets to the lecture tomorrow were already sold out after I decided to not care about my family's plans for the weekend. However, there's always the cultural day, which is free!

Quote of the day:
"Now that I think about it, this probably wasn't a good episode to show w/ the violence." - Shinichiro Watanabe (you must know that a couple of non-anime people were there)
