Quest of the Faerie Child
At the seamless edge of dark night, just before the early morning light, when the sun's flicker showed its head,
we mounted our steed and forged ahead
on our quest for the little Faerie child.Alas we again, where not that very quick,
perhaps tomorrow the exact time we'll pick,
to arrive at the source of morning light,
the very one which divides the night
to quell the laughter of those who doubt.
Years passed the light had not been gained,
not too many years of life now for us remained.
By chance the other day the light was found
and in our pocket the light was finally bound,
so off to see our little Faerie child we flew.
What the Faerie confided to me, I'll share with you,
for to follow dreams and wonders, but a very few
will understand the significance of the light found,
for in earthly pursuits, humans are always bound.
The Faerie child's quest will always be fresh and new.
"Treasure on earth at our death will fade away,"
this is what the little Faerie child that morn did say
as the little flicker of light was set free and then grew.
Perhaps in the full morning light you will have a clue
of a quest this day, like the one we had many years ago.
