The Last Elfin Part 7
“Get over it Tristan we aren’t going back when we’ve come so far so just try to keep quiet for a while.” Rai said as he started to walk faster having seen something in the distance.
“Wait up guys!” Tristan yelled as he tried to catch up with both Rai and Shinto.
“What is that?” Tristan yelled as he saw a figure jumping in the trees.
“Shush… do you want him to see you?” Rai said as he pulled Tristan down behind a bush.
“Who is he?” Shinto asked as he peered through the bushes at the tall dark figure in the distance. When all of a sudden the figure glared over at them with malice discontent. He charged straight for them and just as he was about to strike Rai grabbed him by the arm and swung him into the ground filling his face with dirt and rocks. Then the three of them jumped back awaiting to see if the creature would rise again.
“That was amazing Rai!” gasped Tristan as he stared at the creature lying motionless on the ground.
“It was nothing.” Rai said as he walked over and picked up the creature.
“What was that creature anyways?” Shinto asked as he watched Rai throw it back into the trees.
“It’s called a Hadusa; they live in the trees and once startled go into a blind rage.” Rai said as he dusted himself off.
“Well that Hadusa just cost us some time we’ll have to hurry if we want to get to your uncles house before he leaves.” Tristan said as he started to walk towards the next village.
“Hey, Tristan!” Shinto yelled as he ran passed him.
“What is it Shinto?” Tristan asked as he saw him run by.
“I’ll race you.” Shinto said as he continued to run at full speed.
“Well it looks like you will both lose this one.” Rai said as he ran past Tristan.
“Really fair just give yourselves a head start.” Tristan said as he started to run after them. He slowly started to catch up with Rai when he saw a bright light at the edge of the forest. He got closer and closer and as he did so the light seemed to get brighter and brighter.
‘What is this, why can’t I see anything?’ Tristan thought to himself.
“Look out!” Rai said as he dived and knocked Tristan to the ground.
“What was that for?” Tristan said as he pushed Rai off of himself and got to his feet. He looked forward and the light had cleared and he saw a pack of wolfs in front of him. Their teeth stained blood read dripping with meat from their last meal. Then one of them lunged forward and began to bite into his arm.

The Last Elfin Part 6
“I want to thank you for taking me in and all but I have to find out who I am” Shinto said as he walked back and hugged her.
“I understand” she said as she let go of Shinto.
“Wait here I have something for you” she said as she ran back into the house.
“Here it is” she said as she handed Shinto a shield made of wood engraved with the symbol of the town.
“Make us proud Shinto” Kabuto said as he stepped out of the house.
“I will and I’ll come back some day and tell you of all the things that I have seen!” Shinto said as he walked away.
“Well it looks like we’re off to Panku.” Rai said as he looked at the map that he brought with him.
“Why there?” Tristan asked as he looked at the map noticing a closer town.
“Because my uncle lives there and he know a lot about the legends of the elfin heritage.” Rai said as they reached the limits of the town.
“How far is it?” Shinto asked as he looked at the stars in the sky.
“It’s only a few miles from here we should reach it by morning.” Rai said rolling the map up and placing it in his pocket.
“You mean we have to walk all night?” Tristan said already tired from the day of chasing Shinto.
“Yeah it’s not like we have any other means of transportation, so don’t fall behind.” Rai said as he looked at Tristan as if he were crazy.
“Maybe we should just get started in the morning.” Tristan said as he smirked at Rai.
“No if we don’t start now then we might miss him, he doesn’t stay in one place for very long.” Rai said as they entered a forest.
“Are you sure it’s safe to travel through this at night?” Tristan asked as he looked around at the moving branches of the trees
“Don’t worry so much, I go into the forest around the village all the time with no problems.” Shinto said looking at Tristan who was shaking like crazy.
“Yeah but that’s in the day time when you can see what’s going on around you.” Tristan said still shaking.

The Last Elfin Part 5
“I’ll see you at Shinto’s house.” Tristan said as he walked away.
“Hey Shinto get out here!” Rai yelled as he knocked on the large wooden door of Shinto’s house.
“What do you want?” Shinto asked as he opened the door to see Rai standing in front of him.
“Where is that sword that you found in the forest” Rai said as he began to pant exhausted from having run all the way there.
“It’s inside, but what do you need it for anyways?” Shinto asked as he shut the door behind him.
“I don’t need it but I have some information about the sword that I thought you might want to hear.” Rai said as Shinto walked out closer to him.
“What kind of information?” he asked as he sat down on the stairs that lead up to his house.
“Hey Rai I’m here!” Tristan yelled as he ran up to the house.
“Hey what’s up, what are you doing here?” Shinto asked as he stood up to greet Tristan.
“I’m here about the sword, has Rai told you about it yet?” Tristan said as Shinto sat back down.
“No he was just about to when you came running down the street.” Shinto replied as Rai pulled the book out of the sac that he was carrying with him.
“Look here is the sword, it’s called the ‘hero’s blade’ and only an elfin can wield it. This means that you are at least part elfin, and we were wondering if you would join us on a journey.” Rai said as he gave the book to Shinto.
“On a journey, you mean leave the village and go around the world with the two of you to see what else there is to see?” Shinto asked as he got up and looked back at his house.
“Well yeah, we can find out about your past see the world.” Tristan said as he saw Shinto walk back into the house.
“So are you guys ready?” Shinto said as he walked out of his house with the sword at his side and a sac of food on his back.
“You mean your coming with us, we’re really going?” Rai said as he looked up at Shinto.
“Yeah we’re going so where are we off to first?” Shinto asked as he walked to the end of the walk way the leads up to his house looking back at it for the last time.
“Wait! Shinto where are you going?” his mother asked as she saw him walking away from the house.

The Last Elfin part 4
“This is about the sword that was marked with elfin letters, the one that Shinto is holding.” He said as he started to look around on the shelves franticly.
“What are you looking for?” Tristan asked getting more confused by the minute.
“A book my father gave to me that can translate the elfin language.” He said as he pulled a very tattered book off of the shelf and placed it on the table.
“Why would your father give you a book like that?” Tristan asked still puzzled.
“Because a lot of legends revolve around the elfin culture and because of that a lot of things that you need to know about them is written in elfin.” He said as he opened the book to see if he could find anything about the sword in it.
“Look its right here!” he said pointing at the sword.
“What dose it say about it?” Tristan asked as he stared at the sword.
“Well it’s called ‘the hero’s blade’ and is said to carry elfin knowledge within It.” he said as he read what was written below the picture of the sword.
“Is that all it says?” Tristan asked.
“No it also says that only a person with elfin blood running through their veins can wield the blade. It is a legendary sword that was once held by the fierce warrior Krad, Hey look at this picture of him!” he said as he stared in amazement.
“That looks just like…..but it can’t be…Shinto” Tristan replied astonished at what a resemblance Shinto had to Krad.
“Well there must be some sort of a connection between this Krad and Shinto and this also proves that Shinto is an Elfin.” He said as he closed the book and picked it up off of the table and put it into a sack.
“Wait, where are you going?” Tristan asked as his leader walked over to the door.
“Tristan my name is Rai; no one else in the gang knows that. I want you to choose a new leader and come with me to get Shinto and leave this town and discover who he is.” Rai said standing in the doorway waiting for a response.
“I know not who to choose as a leader, we have always just followed you.” Tristan said as he walked over to door.
“Have the strongest fighter; the one that lost to Shinto; take over. We must leave now so run home and gather your things I’ll be at Shinto’s house when you are ready.” Rai said as he walked out the door towards Shinto’s house with only the clothes on his back and the book in his hand.

The Last Elfin Part 3
“Yeah, but it is the only thing that I know how to play, and if anything has a chance it’s that melody.” Shinto said as he place the flute against his lips and began to play. As he did the symbols on the rock began to glow one after the other glowing brighter and brighter. Then there was a flash of light and the rock was gone and the sword lay on the ground in front of Shinto.
“Well go on pick it up.” Tristan said as he got to his feet and walked over to Shinto and looked at the sword.
“Alright here goes” Shinto said as he bent down and picked up the sword and looked at it more closely.
“Look it’s the same symbols that were on the rock” Tristan said as he saw the sword close up. Then Shinto tore his sleeves off and tied them together to his pants to carry the sword.
“Let’s go my mom will start to worry if I’m not home on time and if she gets to close to the gangs turf there is no telling what might happen to her!” Shinto said as he began to run back towards the town.
“What about the sword, you can’t just expect to walk into town with it and not draw attention to yourself.” Tristan said as he walked through the entrance of the town.
“Well I’m not just going to leave it behind. What if it’s part of my past what if this is a chance to find out who I am!” Shinto said as he ran ahead passing multiple members of the gang along the way.
“Shinto wait up!” Tristan yelled as he tried to catch up with him.
“Hey Shinto stop!” The leader of the gang said as he jumped in front of him.
“Where did you get the sword?” He asked looking at the sword.
“I found it stuck in a stone in the forest.” Shinto said as he ran past him trying to get home as soon as possible.
“Hey Tristan what’s up with the sword? How did Shinto get it?” he asked as Tristan walked up to him tired from trying to catch up with Shinto.
“It was stuck in a stone back in the forest. He used his flute to free the sword which was engraved with something written in elfin.” Tristan said trying to catch his breath.
“Did you say elfin?” he asked looking at Tristan as if he were crazy.
“Yeah it was written in elfin, I’m sure of it.” Tristan replied as he started to lean against the wall.
“Come with me now!!!!” he said as he pulled Tristan by the arm into his house.
“What’s this about?” Tristan asked still confused on what was going on.

The last elfin part 2
“That doesn’t matter” Shinto said as he went on the counter attack knocking the staff out of the fighters hands.
“There now I’m going to pass and I will continue to do so whenever I please.” Shinto said tossing the staff back to the leader of the gang.
“Don’t turn your back on me you little punk!” the fighter yelled as he picked up the staff and swung at an unarmed Shinto who turned grabbed the staff and flipped the fighter into the air. The gang made a path for Shinto to walk as their mouths hung open in disbelief.
“Shinto hold up.” Tristan said as he ran to catch up with him.
“Where did that come from?” He asked as he walked with him into the forest.
“I’ve been practicing in the forest using sticks as staffs” Shinto replied as he sat down on a rock to take a break.
“Well it looks like you’ve gotten really good that was our best fighter and you took him out with ease.” Tristan said as he sat down next to Shinto.
“What do you do back here anyways?” He asked looking around at the trees.
“I play my flute and practice with my staff, but I also found something when I first came into the forest do you want to see it?” Shinto said as he got to his feet.
“Sure what is it?” Tristan said as he got to his feet and started to follow Shinto.
“It’s an old sword but it’s stuck in a rock and I can’t get it out.” He said as he pushed the vines hanging from the trees away.
“Wow you found a sword that’s amazing!” Tristan said as they walked into a clearing.
“The weirdest thing of all is that the rock is covered in symbols similar to the ones on my flute. I think it’s from the same people that left me in the town.” Shinto said as he approached the sword.
“This is the coolest thing I have ever seen, it won’t budge.” Tristan said as he tried to pull the sword out of the rock.
“Maybe the flute has something to do with the sword like it’s the key to getting it out or something” Tristan said as he looked at the flute.
“Maybe, I could try to play the sounds that I remember from when I was young.” Shinto said as he pulled his flute out.
“Isn’t that the only memory that you have left from before you lived here?” Tristan asked as he sat down on the ground waiting to hear the flute.

The last elfin part one
“My birth name is a mystery to me, I was left here as I child with nothing but a flute engraved with a message written in elfin. A family was kind enough to take me in and raise me as their own since I was seven years old, that was eight years ago. Where my real family is or why they left me here is still unknown to me but I will find out. This is my journey to find the truth of my being.”

“Shinto are you up yet?” Mary said as she walked into his room.
“Yeah I’m up I was just about to head into town do you need anything?” Shinto said as he walked past her.
“No I don’t need anything but be careful you remember what happened last time you were in town.” She replied as she followed him to the front door.
“Don’t worry nothing will happen this time I promise” He said as he smirked and started to walk towards town. As he was walking he ran into a member of a local street gang named Tristan.
“What are you doing here you know this is part of our turf so get going before someone else sees you.” He said trying to get Shinto to get away without having to deal with the gang.
“This is the quickest way into the forest and I’m not worried” Shinto said as he kept walking ignoring the warning from his friend.
“Hey you stop!” a voice yelled from the shadows.
“Oh it’s you Shinto, why am I not surprised.” The man said again as he shook his head. Moments later the entire gang was there.
“Shinto you have to quit doing this” Tristan said as the leader of the gang approached Shinto.
“You need to learn your place here Shinto, but I’m not ruthless so here you may use this staff and face off against our best fighter” The leader said as he handed Shinto a staff.
“I’ll teach you not to come onto our turf you little rat!!” the fighter yelled as he swung his staff at Shinto.
“I don’t think so” he replied as he blocked the attack.
“Since when can you fight?” he asked taking swing after swing only to have them blocked one after the other.
