The Last Elfin Part 9
and faster. The village was finally within his sight, only for him to see his uncle’s house on fire and burning to the ground. His eyes grew wide as he charged for the house unsure of weather his uncle was still in there or not.

“Uncle…Uncle are you there?!” Rai said as he ran into the burning building. He searched around the house with flames rising around him. The smoke was clouding his eyes.

“I will save you, where are you?” he yelled charging blindly through the house. Shinto ran in after him.

“Get out of here now!” he yelled as he spun his sword blowing the smoke out of the house. Tristan came running in as the smoke was leaving the house. He looked around searching for the two of them. Trying to find them and get out before the house fell to the ground collapsing on top of them.

“Where are you guy?” he yelled as he went from room to room. He finally found them lying there on the ground having passed out from the smoke. He lifted the two of them onto his back and walked out to see an old man watching as the house collapsed.

“Come with me.” He said as he started to walk into town.

“My name is Benjamin, I live in this village and I knew the man whose house has been burnt down.” Ben said as he walked into a small home at the edge of the village. Tristan followed him inside the house.

“What are the three of you doing in this village?” Ben asked as he sat down at a small table in the corner of the room. Tristan laid Rai and Shinto down on the floor beside the table. Then he sat down across from Ben.

“We came here looking for Rais’ uncle; I was going to ask him to teach me how to fight before we set off on our journey.” He said as Ben poured a cup of tea.

“Oh well I see, if you want I could teach you a few things until your friends wake up.” Ben said as he lifted the cup of tea up to his lips.

“You can?” Tristan asked as he stood up.

“Of course I can, after all I am the one who taught Rais’ uncle” He said as he got up and walked toward a large door in the back of his home. Tristan followed him back as the large doors swung open. They walked down a long flight of stairs to a room that was pitch black. Once they reached the end of the stairs a long tail of torches lit up along the wall illuminating the room. To reveal a large battle field that had been man made under ground.

“This is amazing!” Tristan said as he looked around. Ben walked passed him then turned to face him.

“I’ll start you off slowly with basic hand to hand fighting.” Ben said as he charged in and swung at Tristan. Tristan jumped back dodging the punch at the last second. Then he felt a sharp pain where the punch would have landed had he not jumped back. He fell to the ground holding on to his side.
