The other day...
My adventure
I had just finished posting on myotaku that I was going for a walk. So I scribbled a note for my dad saying where I was going, grabbed my little backpack that I keep all my stuff in, and set out towards my favorite place in the meadow.
I slowly made my way down the road and to the grassy dry the field. While climbing the boulder I usually sit upon, I heard an odd noise. Ignoring the sound, I relaxed on the rock and closed my eyes.
A few minutes later I heard it again, and this time I was sure, it was laughter. “People? In my woods!?!” I thought to myself. I sprang into action. Jumping off of my perch, I sprinted in the direction of the voices. Carefully, I ducked around each branch and hopped over rotting logs. My heart was pounding out of my chest, I didn’t quite know what I was going to find. I followed them for quite some time and ended up going into a circle before I caught a glimpse of the kids. This time I was on the edge of the woods peering at them from behind some thorny bushes as they horsed around unaware of my presents.
There were three of them. The first one was a shrimpy blond boy, definitely the leader, which was wearing a backwards baseball cap and a white T-shirt. The second one was a chunky boy with a blue tank top and dark brown hair who also wearing a cap in the same manor as the first. The third was a heavy looking girl that acted and dressed like prep.
Still ducking low and out of site, I pondered on what to do. I looked at my surroundings and spotted the perfect object to help me. It was a half fallen tree, just tilted enough to easily and quietly scale up. I climbed as high as I could, hoping all the way that I wouldn’t snap a twig and draw attention to myself. When I was at a comfortable height all of the sudden I felt a little tickle in my chest. I wanted to laugh at what I was about to do. I couldn’t hold it in any longer…I started to giggle. The giggle became a cackle, it sounded pretty evil so I started to belt it out. My voice rang out, reached the woods on the other side, and echoed back across to me.
The children looked up, horror and confusion on their faces. There towering above their heads, seemingly out of no where, was this stranger. Mostly covered by branches, I felt like a phantom. It was a great feeling. The Girl shrieked and all three of them tore off running to the south. I pursued them for an instant; only just enough to see them once again enter my woods.
I took another sneaky rout to head them off. This time I was in a hurry. I darted thru spider webs, poison ivy patches, and clouds of insects. Finally I was close enough to hear their chatter. They were making fun of each other and accusing each other of being the most afraid. “Here is my chance!” I told myself.
A thunderous defining erupted from my throat, “GET OUT OF MY WOODS YOU DAMN KIDS!!!” My voice carried again, this time it bounced off of all the trees and echoed hundreds of times all through out the forest. The girl yelped and I could hear their pounding feet and crunching leaves growing more and more distant. They were gone.
I grinned with accomplishment and headed back up the path. “what fun!” I mused, “Butt it’s time to go home!”
