poem for Halloween...

this was a poem that i wrote for a class assignment a while back...one of the first poems i wrote actually...i thought i was fitting to the day...enjoy my friends...have fun today and be safe...Happy Halloween...

~*~Ballad of the Vampire~*~

‘Twas a night like any other
Only tonight was Halloween
From 12th street to Independence Avenue
I visited all the houses in between

“This town is boring.”
I thought to myself
“I’d probably have more fun
Hanging out by myself.”

I decided then and there
To go to the house on 12th street
Everyone said it was haunted
I said, “Your guys are just weak.”

I went to the house alone
And, oh, to my surprise
When I rang the bell
I found that someone actually lived inside

“Come inside and have some punch,”
Said the man that opened the door
“You’ll like the food. Then wait and see
What I have in store.”

I walked inside without hesitation
And quickly realized my mistake
If this was a dream
I hoped that I would soon awake

What I saw next was unexpected
And soon I was filled with fright
For the man had turned into a bat
And now he as taking flight

He chased me down the street
I wished this were a dream
As it flew near me
I let out a blood-curding scream...

I sat up from my bed
I sighed in relief
I looked down at my hand
And stared in disbelief

I looked down in horror
For what did my eyes see?
Instead of a bed there was a coffin
The bat had bitten me

That happened years ago
Back in 1995
A time when I was ten
A time when I was still alive
I love Ren & Hao.
