   I'm Engaged!!
I hope everyone had a great, great Christmas. I know I did. My boyfriend asked me to marry him yesterday, so now I'm engaged!! First, he gave me a card that said "Read me First". It was one of those nifty talking cards from Hallmark. If anyone is familiar with the movie "A Wonderful Life", they'll know what I'm talking about. The card has the two main characters from the movie on the front, and when you open it, it says "You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down." He wrote, "I love you so much. The past six months have been the best of my life." THEN I opened the gift and it was my ring. He was setting right next to me and said, "Will you marry me?" I looked at him for a second and said, "Yes I will."...then I pretty much tackled him onto the floor and gave him a big hug. All in all, it was perfect.

It seems like all I've accomplished lately is work, work, work. (Hence not being able to check around here very much...) Just thought I'd let everyone know I'm NOT dead, and I'll post some more pics ASAP. Sees ya!

It's been a week...
Last Friday was very craptacular in the life of Eight Sun. My poodle, Precious, which I'd had since I was seven or eight years old, died. I don't cry much, but I was so inconsolable, I had to call in to work that morning. It was early. Around 6:00 a.m. when she died. I noticed when I got home from work the night before, she was breathing heavily. I knew something was wrong, but my parents insisted that she'd swallowed a hairball or something. If only it HAD been a hairball. Either way, I carried her into my mom's room and told her I thought she was dying. After setting with her in the living room for a while, I took her back to bed. She was lying on my leg, and I felt her take her last breath, and she became heavy on my leg. I've tried not to think about it, but it's hard not to. I miss her like crazy, and it's not gonna be the same without her being there to greet me when I come home. Rest in Peace, Precious. I love you, girl.

   Storms!!!
We had some insane strong storms last night. It knocked out our electricity from around 8:30 last night until about 12:30 today! My best friend and I drove around to survey the damage in our area, and there was a tree on a mobile home, a shed that had been blown to pieces, trees all over the road, not to mention limbs and branches, and there was one mobile home that had been blown to bits and scattered across the road! I feel bad for the families. Luckily, all of our stuff was alright, ourselves and animals included. My dad and I had to lift a HUGE tree limb from the fence in our yard, though. We both had mud all over us at this point, and it was still raining really hard. We had to light our house with candles and flashlights, and where I'm used to sleeping with my fan on, it took me forever to go to sleep because I didn't have it. I woke up at 5:30 this morning because one of our neighbors' backup generators was so loud. Our satellite STILL isn't working, though, so I'm going to miss the new episode of LOST tonight, which SUCKS!!! But my brother is recording it on his DVR, so at least I'll get to watch it. (Even if it IS a day or so late.)
