   FLASH FLOOD!!!
errr.... Kinda...

Wednesday I woke up to the thundering of rain on our roof...

The best way to wake up...

Except...
IT'S THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER HERE!

It was the most rain I've ever seen fall here... it was amazing... the closest thing to a storm in a LONG while...
About 185mm of rain fell here!

It rained so heavily, that a dam's wall broke somewhere, and the lower part of Robertson was flooded. We went to go look at one of the bridges... terrible. A friend of my sister's house got kinda, "ahem" wet. The water got into their kitchen!
My mom's garden got so much water... you wouldn't BELIEVE the size of those puddles! @__@+

People who were away on holiday had to come back to do damage control...
It only rained for a few hours as it turned out, but it seemed to go on for AGES...
The grape farmers must've had an amazing degree of damage done to their crops....

We didn't have nearly enough rain during the Winter, but DANG!
As one farmer put it; "I know we were desperate for rain and all, but it didn't all have to fall AT ONCE!"

Heh. Shame.
The rain was cleared up by the end of the day... It pitter patted a bit Thursday, but we were back to the usual melting heat by today.

Just like it never happened. My mom's garden had been so dry, that by Wednesday night it had absorbed all that water right up.

Yup. So.
No one's gonna read this.
Too long, methinks...

Oh well.
