I’ve been watching more of the live-action drama, Hana Yori Dango. Gah, it’s so good and addicting! *shakes fist* It’s based off the anime/manga, Boys Over Flowers. I’ve been putting off watching more of this show because not only do when you start one episode…you don’t stop until like, 5 episodes later (each eppi is about 45 mins) and you’re up until 4am because you HAVE to know what happens next! AH! Plus, I don’t want it to end! lol!

But this show leads me to this question…why in animes/mangas do the girls always end up with the jerks? In Hana Yori Dango, the main girl, Makino, bounces back and forth between the ill-tempered, always calls her names and puts her down jerk, Domyouji, to the the super sweet, has saved her butt from getting raped and beat up, and always comes to her when she’s upset guy, Rui. Yet, she seems to lean toward the jerk and I’m like, what the?! That happens in SO many animes/mangas and I tend to compare Domyouji and Rui to Kyou and Yuki since they really are almost exactly alike. lol! Rui’s nickname is even “Prince Charming” kinda like how Yuki in Fruits Basket is called, “Prince Yuki.” Yet Tohru falls for Kyou and Makino falls for Domyouji and the nice guys are left in the dirt. They always end up becoming “the friends” in these stories. Even though yes, I have read all the volumes of Fruits Basket so I do know what happens in Yuki’s love life in the end.^_~

The Picture of the Day comes from Hana Yori Dango. There are 4 main guys in the show but the 2 guys to the left and right of the girl, Makino are the love interests. Domyouji is on the left and Rui is the guy in white on the right and I’m still not done with the show…there’s still a 2nd season to watch!! AH! Though I doubt her and Rui will end up together. *le sigh*

One of my fish came back from the dead. My brother had bought a couple new saltwater fish for his tank (the one that I’m taking care of while he’s away for the army) and there was this one really pretty bright pink and yellow one and I hadn’t seen the little bugger for about 5 days so, I assumed the bigger fish, the Dragon Wrasse, had killed it. But then yesterday I was walking past the tank and low-and-behold, I see a little pink face peeking out from behind a rock and I was like, holy crap! It lives!! I was glad since saltwater fishies are not cheap and it was really pretty and cute so I’m glad it had just been hiding all this time. I guess it was just too shy at first.XD

So, Friday night, Tyler, Phil, and I went to our friend, Jonesy’s house since he was visiting for the weekend. He stays at his mom’s house when he comes to visit and his mom, who we call ‘Moog’, is the coolest mom ever. She’s half Japanese so she made us a bunch of Japanese food. She made sushi, which I’m not a big fan of but she had some with no fish in it and those tasted good. Tyler had brought over a Japanese zombie movie called, Wild Zero which stars the Japanese rock band, Wild Wolf…yeah, never heard of them either.
But the best part of this movie was, the main character Ace falls in love with this girl named Tobio and they were kissing and stuff and she took off her clothes and that’s when you learn…Tobio was a dude!!! lol! Well, Ace FREAKS out but then the lead member of the Wild Wolf band would come out of nowhere and yell, “Rock and Roll has no discrimination whether it’s race, gender, or beliefs!!!” So, Ace is all like, “Yeah, he’s totally right! Rock and ROLLLLLL!!!” and he turns gay in the end! lol! I was like, “Tyler! What kind of movie did you pick out?!!” And Tyler goes, “I don’t know!!! But since it turns yaoi, do you want a copy?” lol! He knows I have a thing for pretty boy love.XD

I’ve been working on a Naruto comic forever but keep getting side-tracked so today I shall work on it and try and get as much done as possible! *pounds desk*

My friend, Tyler sent me like, the best text message ever today. I don’t know how familiar you guys are with Looney Tunes but do you remember the cartoon with Daffy Duck parodying Robin Hood? Well, that is one of my all-time fave Looney Tunes episodes (I’m bias though since Daffy’s my fave XP) but there’s this one part in the show where Daffy is going to swoosh down from a rope and steal money off a rich guy…but he’s unaware that there’s a series of boulders in his way and so he’s at the top of a tree and he yells, “YOIKS AND AWAY!!!” And then *SMACK* into a boulder…but he keeps going and every time re-yells “Yoinks and away” it gets progressively more slurred and more demented since he’s smacking into boulders every couple seconds. I LOVE that part…don’t know why but Gavin and I quote it all the time. Well, Tyler found that clip and text messaged it to me…now, I was at work and having a crummy day and when I got that message, I just laughed and laughed and laughed. People must have thought I was koo-koo but oh man, I saved it and set it so every time I get a text message, I hear that part…”YOIKS AND AWAY!”

And speaking of Looney Tunes I have a funny story about something my kitty, FuzzButt did while I was watching over him at my apartment. I was sitting in the living room and I see FuzzButt walk towards the kitchen and then hear some scuffling sounds. I’m just thinking…oh man, what is he getting into now so I go into the kitchen and look around thinking, where the heck is he? And then I look down and there’s this big moving lump in the middle of my kitchen rug. lol! He had gotten under it and was just having a ball, especially when I went up to him and starting smacking his butt (at least I think it was his butt) saying, “whatcha doin’? watcha doin’?” and he was trying to bite me through the rug which didn’t really work.XD I then started walking away and turn back and there’s this little white paw sticking out from the corner trying to swat at my feet. Little stinker! And then when he finally came out his fur was sticking up all over the place from the static. But it amused me since it reminded me of Bugs Bunny when he’s traveling underground and you just see a moving lump.XD

He’s kinda outgrown it but he loves sleeping on that thing and he gets into the funkiest positions trying to fit in it to sleep. Well, I broke up with Boots (Shawn) already. lol! I don’t want to go into huge details but pretty much, he invited me over to his place after work and when I got there, he was (pardon my French) shit-faced drunk and he was basically crawling all over me and trying to move things WAY too fast. After talking to his friend, Jenn (who is also a coworker of mine) she said that he has that problem, he drinks too much and then screws up relationships with girls! I called him today to let him know that I can’t be with someone who’s like that. I’m not a whore and have morals, dangit! lol! He was very understanding and he felt really really bad that he put me in such an awkward situation and he wishes he hadn’t invited me over when he was drunk. Ah well, I’m not really upset since we had only gone out about 6-7 times by then and I always say, it only takes ONE instance to show someone what kind of person you really are and/or to totally f-things up with someone and he pretty much did just that. He f-ed up! But I’m glad I saw this side of him prior to us getting serious.

So, other than that I’ve been good. I had to work on Easter…big shocker. It’s a major holiday of course my boss makes ME work since I’m young, without children and therefore, have no life!>_< The casino was very busy that day too…nothing yells Easter better then gambling some hard-earned money away! *rolls eyes*
On a totally different note, I finally caved and got a NetFlix account…probably since I was tired of going to video stores and them not having what I wanted. NetFlix is awesome. I didn’t realize how much anime they had! Pretty much if it’s been released on DVD, they will have it. I’ve already added the entire first season of Prince of Tennis on my list and I’ll be getting that next. Wohoo! I added soooo much to my list already but I need to stop since I’m going nuts with this thing.XD

I’m going out with Boot (a.k.a. Shawn) again tonight. I guess we’re officially a couple now since he was telling all his friends he had a girlfriend now.XD I do like him a lot but right now, he’s being a liiiiittle too clingy for my taste and I’m like, dude! I’m an artist and need ME time!! But he seems understanding so hopefully he’ll slow down a little.
So, the other night we had gone to Denny’s (the only place open at 4am after I was done with work.XD) and the waitress was so funny. As soon as we walked in she was going on about how much she loved me hair and then when I took my jacket off she goes, “OMG! Is that a Darkwing Duck shirt?!” I had just gotten it the other day when I was with Ty and Phil at the mall and I reply, “Heck yes, it’s Darkwing!” And then I stood up to show the back of it because on the back it says, “I am the terror that flaps in the night!” Since that was one of his sayings in case you didn’t know, she thought it was awesome and asked where I got it and stuff. She then kept on joining in on our conversation too which was fine since it was fun to have some random person jumping into our random talks.XD

So, you guys know in my last post how I mentioned the live-action movie of Love*Com sometimes also called, Lovely Complex? Well, I ripped one of my fave scenes off the DVD to show you guys. A quick summary of the anime/movie/manga is that it’s about a really tall girl and a really short boy who start to fall in love with each other but neither want to date someone taller or shorter then themselves. This is the moment when Risa, the tall girl, realizes she’s falling for Otari, the short boy and I love this part for obvious reasons if you watch it because it’s like a mini-cartoon.XD The whole movie isn’t like that but they have random true anime moments thrown in it now and again. And you’ll hear a narrator talking during this scene…he talks now and again in the movie and it’s definitely Engrish and it was hard for me to understand what he was saying most of the time but this scene isn’t too hard to understand. But yeah, the clip is only 1 minute long and it’s really cute and makes me smile so it’s fun to watch!^___^

And since people commented about how delectably adorable the picture I showed in my last post of the actor who played Otari, (the short guy) in the movie was, here’s another picture of him! So cute!! His name is Teppei Koike and I still think he’d be a great Momiji if they did a live-action of Fruits Basket since he’s sweet and lovable and bouncy but he looks quite young but he’s actually like 24 years old!

I had a great couple days! On Firday, my pal Tyler came to my place and we played Super Smash Bros. Brawl for like, 7 hours. lol! We took breaks in-between when Ty treated me to pizza and wings. YUMM! And then he brought over a NetFlix Korean horror movie called, Two Sisters. The movie was really confusing but then we played more Brawl and come 4am we kept on saying,..“Really, just ONE more match and then we’re done!” He didn’t leave till about 6am.XD

Then the next day, Ty, Phil, and I went to this big mall that’s about 1 ½ hours away called the Carousel Mall (called that since there’s a big carousel in it). I bought another Wii controller and nunchuck for when people come over to play…I was pissed…I didn’t realize they sold the remote and the nunchuck separately! LAME! Good way to scam people into spending more money. Hmph! There was this one thing that was really funny…Ty needed to get new shoes and Phil thought he wanted some new ones too and it was so backwards…I was like, “C’mon guys…I want to go to Best Buy and Circuit City!” While Tyler and Phil were, “No, I need to look at shoes!” lol! I think our sexes magically got reversed for awhile since they later went clothes shopping while I wanted to go to Borders. lol!

So, back at the NY Anime Festival, my pals and I saw part of the live-action movie based on the manga/anime, Love*Com, sometimes also referred to as, Lovely Complex which is a story about a really tall girl and a really short guy who start to fall in love with each other but neither want to date someone shorter or taller than them. Well, we didn’t get to see the whole movie since we had another event to go to but from what I saw of it I loved. It was one of those movies that just makes your want to squeal it’s so cute and I was disappointed I never got to see the whole thing. I found the movie on ebay and I got it today and watched it. It’s just so cute! Puts a big goofy grin on my face both the main actress and actor are so adorable. I really liked the actor who played Otari (the short guy) and after seeing him I thought, man, if they ever did a live-action movie or show of Fruits Basket this guy HAS to play Momiji! He has that cute, sweet, bouncy personality. The actor’s name is Teppei Koike and he’s left-handed and a singer too! lol! But here’s a picture of him: *pinches his cheeks*

So, just so people know, when I update myOtaku it’s going to be the exact same post on Worlds as well….well, except myO will have more pictures and such since Worlds is restricted to one single stinkin’ image per post *grumbles*but for the most part, if you read my post on myO then you don’t have to read my post on Worlds and vice versa since more than likely, it will be the exact same post. Since I actually enjoy meeting new people as well as visiting my old pals on myO, I’m pretty much forced to use Worlds as well since new people can’t get to myO. Hmph.

So, in new news, it looks like Elves here may have a boyfriend. lol! Do you guys remember when I mentioned a coworker telling me that a friend of hers had seen me through the banker’s window and thought I was hot and asked if she could get him my number and when I asked what he looked like she had shown me his mySpace page and I thought he was really cute? Well, in case you hadn’t, that’s the sum of it but I got to finally meet him on Tuesday and his nickname is Boots (his real name is Shawn) and me, him, my coworker Jenn, and her boyfriend all hung out at his house and played pool and stuff and talked. I liked him and all but didn’t get much one-on-one time with him so he calls me the next day and asked if I wanted to come over to his house after work to play some Super Smash Bros. Brawl and I was like, hell yeah! So I went and had a great time! We are very much alike in our interests…like me, he’s a closet nerd (like I love anime, Lord of the Rings, that sort of thing but I don’t talk about it unless someone asks), he didn’t realize my interests until I showed him my artworks and when he saw my love for that kind of stuff, he says, ‘Oh my god, do you want to get married?’ I was like, O_O…he was kidding of course but he’s so easy to talk to and he snuck a kiss on me too. *blush blush* I’ll have to explain it on another post since I’m babbling too much but it was such an anime moment for me.XD

My parents came home from Florida Monday and took back FuzzButt Wednesday.:-( I miss him already! Him and his trouble-making ways but he was so cuddly and cute and I miss coming home to his meow, followed by a stretch, followed by him plopping on his back waiting for me to pet his tummy.^_^

Thanks for all the comments in my last post. I have saved them. I’m going to wait a little bit though before sending them or anything though because I want to give Adam and the staff time to finish all the things they want to update among theOtaku and myOtaku. I got some really nice and detailed responses which I think is key, so thanks to all those who responded!!

Well, with Worlds, I figured out how to do a few things…but the whole thing that was said about BBCoding being accepted isn’t really true. What should have been said was only Otaku’s specially formatted BBCoding would be accepted. I found a whole bunch of great BBCoding sites and NONE of those codes work. After talking to my buddy, SessLover18, I come to find that that’s because BBCoding was pretty much blocked…except for the choice codes that Worlds provides in the backroom. LAME!!! So, we’re pretty much stuck with being able to have one picture and one video per post and that’s it. No music at all.:-(

Trying to be on a happier note, I got Super Smash Bros. Brawl today! I love it! I was a big fan of Melee and Brawl is similar except the obvious, like the graphics are better, some additional characters, etc. The music is so awesome! I have my Wii plugged into my Surround Sound…oh man, it’s great with all that orchestra/opera music blaring through.XD The adventure mode is so much fun! They did it a lot better in Brawl since it truly is…like a whole other game but with the same basis of Brawl in that you still beat other people up.XD I played Link first through the arcade since Link was my main man in Melee and he’s still just as awesome:

But surprisingly, my fave character to play so far is the newbie, Pit! He’s great! He has the double sword that can become a bow and he can fly!

Okay myO members listen up…I know I’m not the only one who is upset about the fact that myO has now been separated from theO. I had the impression, that us original myO members would still be part of the new Version Vibrant…but that’s obviously not the case. Seeing as how I can’t even view my PM’s unless I’m on Worlds. I, along with many other myO people had the impression that when Vibrant was launched, myO was going to be upgraded but that’s obviously not the case…it appears like we are being ditched. I was very upset when I read on Adam’s blog saying that he will no longer be updating on myO but that we would have to visit his World’s account to read his posts. I know I’m not alone when I feel like we are being ditched. WE are the ORIGINAL the Otaku members…WE are what made The Otaku popular and to practically force us myO people to make a World’s site…I just don’t agree with it. I have been fiddling with my World’s account for some time…I don’t like that it’s so impersonal now…Otaku Worlds now looks like every other blogging site…like live journal and my space. What I loved about this site was that the members could make sites that were a reflection of themselves. It’s nice that Adam kept myO up but nothing with myO is being linked to Vibrant, the comment boxes are still horrid, and our backroom has had so much removed from it.
I do want to state that I think theOtaku with Vibrant looks wonderful...I really like the reply features and such and the galleries looks great. I just wish the cool features applied to Worlds could have been applied to myO instead.

I’m good buddies with myO member, Sesslover18…she is a graphic design queen and even SHE can’t customize her World’s site besides a background image. That’s pathetic…I wish html was still accepted and I have been tinkering with my Worlds account since it was launched and I still can’t figure it out. More-so, it has become obvious that anything to customize your World’s account has been blocked. I think the upgrade looks GREAT for theO alone but I don’t like that he’s separated the site from myO. I already know some people are leaving this site all together because of this.

So, pretty much myOtaku ladies and gents, I want you guys to comment on my post, saying what you feel about the Worlds account. If you don’t like it, explain why, if you do like it, also say why...be as specific as you can because I, along with a few other myO members are compiling the feelings of the myO people to pass onto Adam so hopefully, he will still associate the new Otaku with myOtaku because I feel like we are being thrown out which I don’t think is right. To change the blogging sites from something everyone loved to something so plain feels like a step backwards. I love Vibrant for what it’s done with the look of the main pages but don’t change myO…it was perfect the way it was.
