The 2nd volume of Black Cat came into work at B&N today. I like the paper they use for the cover of Black Cat…it’s that nice, thicker, plasticy paper. Oh and another manga that’s amazing that I totally recommend is called MeruPuri. How I love it so. The artwork in it makes me pet the pages.

When I was home this weekend, I asked my friends Gavin and Tyler if they had seen the movie, Brokeback Mountain. They were like, “of course not!” I asked, “why not?” and they were all, “because it’s about gay cowboys.” And I told them, “but there’s more to the story then that. It’s also a really well-directed movie.” This is something I thought even Gavin would appreciate since he wants to be a director. They were both still stand-offish about it and so I asked them, “So, if this was about two lesbian cowboys, you would go see it?” And they answer, “well yeah, of course!” *smacks forehead* You know, guys will go on and on about how homosexuality amongst guys is nasty but at the same time I’m thinking…yeah, now you know how us ladies feel when we have to see two girls going at it in almost every teen movie like American Pie. Not that there’s anything wrong with lesbianism, it’s not my thing but I know some of you like it and I respect that but still! It’s funny how lesbianism in movies is okay but homosexuality is not. Feh!

Quote of the Day comes from Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey:
“The Tiger can’t change his spots. No, wait, he did! Good for him!”

This is one of the pages in MeruPuri. I love the way the artist draws the hair. *strokes*

Thanks for your guy’s support in my last post about my cat, Furball being put to sleep. It was tough being home without my kitty there. I found myself still leaving my bedroom door part-way open for him at night. I didn’t finish the milk in my cereal since I would always give him the rest of it. And I even still looked to see where he was before I put my glass of water down since he used to sneak up and drink out of it when I wasn’t looking. It’s hard to break 18 year old habits, you know? I’m sorry I made some of you cry on my last post. I guess the music sorta heightens that mood. I’m just so attached to my pets and having the same ones my whole life…it’s very tough to part with them. My dog, Freddie is still alive though and doing pretty well. She’s 15 though and she has trouble getting up and down since she has arthritis problems. I gave her extra loving the past few days.

Anyway, I’ll try to make this post happier. I got to see my best pals, Gavin, Tyler and Phil while I was home and Gavin bought me a bouncy ball to make me feel better for loosing Furball since they knew how much I loved him. Later, we were standing around talking and Tyler commented I smelled really good and then he leaned in to smell me and he said I smell like a rice crispy treat. Then Phil leaned in to smell me and then Gavin. It was interesting having 3 guys all leaning in and smelling me in front of a store…I felt like those guys in the Axe body spray commercials. I wear lotion that smells like vanilla and I have this other perfume called Foxglove and whenever I wear that combo, I always get people telling me how good I smell…especially guys…I think that’s a scent they must enjoy. Vanilla and Foxglove. I figured it out. Then on the way home(it was about 1am), Gavin rolls down his car window and begins shrieking like a Ringwraith from Lord of the Rings. No reason why…like always, Gavin is full of randomness. I bet people who were sleeping thought that a Pterodactyl was attacking the town.

And I saw the surgeon about my wrist and they did lots of x-rays and stuff since he thought that I had a stress fracture. It turns out I have a tendon problem in my wrist. Apparently, my tendons are rubbing together and swelling and bruising and that’s why it’s been hurting me so bad. There’s really nothing they can do to cure it so basically…I just have to live with the pain and keep wearing this splint>_< He recommended I quit my Barnes & Noble job since that’s one of the things that’s triggering the problem but I just can’t afford to do that. I’ll just pop some pain killers so I can start drawing again. Bless those pain killers.
I apologize for the long post. I know many of you don’t like that. *offers bouncy ball*

Hey guys. I’m pretty upset right now. My dad called me today to tell me that they put my cat, Furball to sleep. I guess he hasn’t been eating for the past couple weeks and he was getting weak. I cried a lot since this is a pet I’ve had for 18 years so…pretty much my whole life he’s been a part of it. I’m coming home today too and was so excited to be able to see him and my dog Freddie. But, my parents didn’t want me to see him suffering so they did what they thought was best. I remember when I was little when we first got him too. We found him abandoned at a gas station and he was the teeniest little kitten who grew up to be a big, fat, happy cat. It’s going to be strange walking around the house without him following me everywhere. Or eating a bowl of cereal and not have him meowing non-stop and rubbing against my leg so I give him the milk. I would always give him my leftovers since I’m easily suckered by cuteness. He also loved to lick my bowl after eating Ramen and he loved Spicy Nacho Doritos.

Well, I hope you guys have a happy Easter at least. I wont be back on Otaku till Wednesday since I’m going to be home and am going to be very busy. I also have my appointment with my surgeon to see about my wrist. I hope all goes well.

This is Furball. His favorite place to sleep was always beside me and in the night he would shove open my door plop down on the floor and purr really loud^^ I’m really going to miss him. It’s sad but I consider my pets just as much family as my relatives.

About my college story with Gavin busting into my room to show me he had shaved his whole body…no, he wasn’t naked. He had his pant-legs rolled up and he lifted his shirt to show me the smoothness…whether or not he shaved elsewhere…eh, I don’t want to know^_~ And yes, my relationship with Gavin is best described as total and complete randomness. So, the fact that he opened my door yelling, “LOOK!” while lifting his shirt to show me he had shaved his body and then just left without another word, in all honesty, didn’t really surprise me.

My roommate is so annoying. We were watching the news and they were talking about a guy who had killed 5 of his family members and Steph wouldn’t shut up! She has this habit of listening to the beginning of a topic and then start yapping about it without hearing what the full story is. So, I was trying to hear what the killing was about and she started saying things like, “What? Why did he do that? Wouldn’t the other people he wasn’t killing hear that? He’s so stupid! Where was this? Did anyone live? Wait, what happened?” She doesn’t shut her trap to LISTEN to the show! Argh. We watched Fruits Basket and she did the same thing during that but she’d ask the dumbest questions EVER…like, “Why are his eyes yellow? Why does he wear that outfit? Why is his hair white?” I’m like, “Because they're anime characters! It doesn’t need to make sense!” *smacks forehead* I can’t believe I’m living with this person. She sounds like she’s 8 years old, right? No, she’s 25!

I’m ever-so tired too. I had to open at work today so I was outside waiting for the bus by 6:15am. For once, the bus was RIGHT there but that sorta sucks because that made me a 1/2 hour early for work and the store is locked till the manager comes at 7 so I had to stand outside and wait. And I had forgotten my iPod!! WAH!!! I entertained myself by watching pigeons and then a cab pulled up and a group of drunk girls staggered out of a taxi cab laughing and yelling obnoxiously. Man, if you’re coming home from a drunken night at 6:45am…I’d say you partied a little too hard.

I have noticed this white van outside my apartment. This van is almost ALWAYS there and it doesn’t belong to anyone who lives here. I think I’m under surveillance by the FBI. Or maybe they’re ninjas! Heh…since ninjas are notorious for driving white vans…maybe they’re FBI ninjas! Ah-ha! I figured it out.

We had some special dude come into B&N today to do some signings of his book. Apparently, this guy is pretty famous but I’m never heard of him. His name is Rev. Run and he’s the brother of some dude who’s last name is Simmons. We were packed today and guards and cops were everywhere. They were playing his CD in the store too and he’s a biblical rapper or something. Gah, I don’t care if it’s biblical or not…rap makes my ears bleed. And customers were everywhere and by that time my soda was gone and the sugar and caffeine I was living on, had disappeared…so in other words, Elves was not a happy camper.
I just got out of the shower and I had shaved my legs and have now realized that I somehow missed shaving my knees. Son of a batch of cookies. Heehee…that reminds me of a random event that happened to me in college. I was sitting in my dorm room at my computer, minding my own business and my friend Gavin just bursts open my door, pulls up his shirt and yells, “LOOK!!!”…..I glance over and see that the boy has shaved his whole body! He then turns and leaves without another word and I’m sitting there like..O_O. That was it…he just had to show me that he was compelled to shave everything.

Quote of the Day comes from FoxTrot:
*They’re discussing Lord of the Rings*
Jason: “Stop gushing about the movie! You aren’t allowed to!”
Paige: “Why not?”
Jason: “The Lord of the Rings are for people like ME to love! WE memorized the books. WE made the websites! WE drew the detailed maps of Osgiliath on our binders!”
Paige: “But Orlando Bloom is my…my….preciousss.”
Jason: “You aren’t allowed to make Gollum jokes, either!”
Paige: “Who’s Gollum?”

I appreciate your guy’s concern about my wrist. I’m going home for Easter and my parents set up an appointment with my surgeon who had done the first operation on it. I hope it doesn’t need surgery again but we’ll see what the doc says and what he thinks is best.
And by the way, the toothbrush I bought is amazing^_~ It’s an Oral-B and my teeth feel so slick now.XP

So I got the soundtrack to Black Cat all downloaded. It’s so awesome! I love the orchestra/opera music in it. And I was so happy they had the full version of the song Saya was singing when Train first met her. And the file I downloaded from had the scans from the CD too and this was one of them and it made me giggle.

Oh and Black Cat is 23 episodes long since people asked.

So today, I saw a commercial that made me burst out laughing. It’s for a cleaning solution called XTRA-Pine and it involves this guy called the ‘Cleaning Hunk.’ It involves this hunky guy doing the cleaning for some housewife while using the Xtra-Pine product. I swear, it looks like the beginning of a bad porno. Part of the dialogue is this:
Cleaning Hunk: “This rag is filthy…my shirt will do a much better job.” *removes shirt* LOL! This commercial involves the housewife oogling his butt too and panting like crazy as she watches this guy clean for her. It’s so hilarious and it’s real! They even have a website for it and you can see this commercial. It’s so dirty and suggestive. Here’s the link: Cleaning Hunk
Just click “Click to watch the hunk clean for you!” at the bottom. It’s perfect for a good laugh and it doesn’t surprise me this commercial airs during the time that soap operas and such play.

Quote of the Day comes from The Simpsons:
Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

I was hoping to do some drawing on my days off but my wrist has been killing me. I ended up walking to Target instead so I could buy one of those splint thingies for it since every bend of my wrist hurts like a mother trucker. This is the same wrist I had surgery on and I would have hoped the surgery would have fixed it. Feh! I want to trade it in for a new one…well, maybe not…because I may then get a wrist that can’t draw.XP
I bought a new toothbrush too…I look forward to using that.

I finished Black Cat today. Finishing an anime is so bittersweet. It’s good to see the conclusions and everything but then there’s that emptiness where you know you’ll never be able to see those characters again in new situations. *sniff*
I LOVE the music in Black Cat during the fight sequences…oh man, the hard core battles involve opera music with some bad ass piano/organ music playing too. I had many moments where those battle scenes were going on and you know how the little sequences show when a commercial break would have happened there? Man, it was during those “breather” moments that I realized that my face was like 2” from the screen, I was clutching the desk, and I don’t think I had taken a breath or blinked for the past few minutes. So exciting! Inuyasha used to do that all the time to me too. It was like, you’re so into the anime and then the little breaks happen and it snaps you back into reality. SUGOI!
I’m downloading the soundtrack to Black Cat as we speak. *prances*

And now, Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey:
“The other day I got out my can opener and was opening a can of worms when I thought, ‘What am I doing?!’”

*sniff* I’m going to miss you Train Heartnet! *gives him milk as a departing gift*

My Aishitureze Baby DVD’s came in the mail today! Yeehaw! Just in time too since I have the next couple days off. *frolics*
And with what people said on my last post about that group of guys thinking I was hot…hahahaha! Many said that I’ll have a fan club started soon just like Yuki. Heh, I sorta hope not…I don’t know how Yuki can walk the hallways without fearing he’s going to get attacked and gang raped by a group of girls.XP Although some guys may not mind that…but Yuki doesn’t seem like an orgy guy…man, why the heck am I still discussing this?

So, I was waiting for the bus to come after work and there was this group of buses in front of the one I needed to get on, so I walked a little over to the side to see where my bus was going to pull in. Well, it’s a good thing I had moved that couple feet because the bus that had been in front of me, as it was pulling away, ran over a glass bottle and shards of glass went flying right to the spot I had just been standing. Heh, I felt lucky and quite a few people who had been standing there said the same thing.
And then, while I was on the bus, there was this little girl who was standing right in front of me(there were no more seats) and I noted she was looking at me so I smiled at her and she smiled back. Then she started staring at my watch and turning her head to see it better and so I rolled up my sleeve so she could see it and she giggled and asked me who was on my watch. I was wearing my Animaniacs watch(yes, I have an Animaniacs watch…well, TWO actually) and I told her who they were and then she started yapping about cartoons and such. She was really cute(like 8 years old). I usually loathe little kids too but they always flock towards me for some reason. I think they can sense that I like cartoons…

Quote of the Day comes from Maxine Wilkie:
“You can’t stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life.”
Amen sister.

Thanks to everyone who commented and voted on my drawing! Much appreciated. Even when you say a few words on what you like or don’t like about the piece it really helps me out for when I go into the next one. Seems people like the background a lot. The background took me like, only 15 minutes too.XD I’m going to work on an action shot next since a lot of weapon fighting happens in my story idea.

I had a rough day at work yesterday. Since my pal, Josh left, I was all alone when we closed so I was uber busy. When I got home I decided to spoil myself and I bought a Yuki dressed in a rat costume plushie off Ebay. I don’t really care for stuffed animals anymore but…this is Yuki! My honey bunches of oats! And I deserve a Yuki plushi!! *pounds desk* DAMMIT!
Today a group of guys came in and saw my name tag we wear around our necks(mine has Inuyasha and Naruto on it) and the guys asked if I like anime and I said I did and then I said to them, “Notice how beautiful the manga section looks? That’s all me and another girl’s doing.” They actually bowed to me and gave me hug! A couple were good-looking too.^_~ They wrote down their e-mail addresses and stuff because I told them I had downloaded Black Cat and they wanted to buy it off me. So they left and one of the girls from downstairs came upstairs to me saying that a group of guys just left saying how hott I was. Hmph, boy I’m honored.
And also today, a lady came in going on and on about hamsters and how they French kiss her when she holds them up to her mouth. Ummmmm…hmm…the world is full of interesting people. I think her cheese slipped off her cracker too.

Quote of the Day comes from Fruits Basket:
*It’s Valentines Day*
Girl Classmate: *oogling Yuki* “I gotta give my present to Yuki.”
Girl Classmate #2: *also oogling* “Yes…give it to Yuki…”
Girl Classmate #3: *also oogling* “Yuuuuuki…..”
Uo-chan: “Boy, those Yuki fan girls are scary today. They look like they want to jump him or eat him, I can’t tell which.”

I finished the drawing of my two original characters, Estel and Leetha. You can just click the thumbnail below and it will open it up in a new window. Whee!

And here’s a quick summary of my manga idea with these two:
The girl's name is Leetha Blue and the elf's name is Estel Elendil and their mission...to get the hell away from each other! Heehee! The basic premises to this story is that Leetha accidently gets a curse casted on them where there's something like an invisible rope that keeps these 2 tied together. They can only go within a few yards before it feels like a rope is pulling them back so now they're trying to find the person who cast the spell so they can be seperate again. Estel is a stuck-up, brutally honest he-elf and Leetha is a fairly snobby and playful human...these 2 being stuck together...heh, you can bet how well that will go^_~ That’s a pretty rough draft of the story line but you can at least what the main idea of it is.

My roommate is officially crazy. She’s always been ditsy…like thinking the mailman was a burglar and that moths are taking over our apartment(we have ONE moth) and she never speaks in complete sentences. She just sorta trails off.
So today(yesterday when most read this), I said to her, “I’m going to take the garbage out.” She says, “But garbage doesn’t go out till Tuesday.” I look at her and say, “Today is Tuesday.” And she just looks into the distance and replied, “yeah, but the garbage doesn’t go out till Tuesday.” I just glared at her and go, “Steph…today IS TUESDAY!” And she looks out the window for some reason and says, “Wait, what day is today?”
>_< Oh my gawd, what the hell. I think my brain exploded upon impact on that conversation. I’m convinced her cheese slipped off her cracker.

TRAIN!!! I get all fangirly when he’s on the screen^_~ I’ve been watching quite a bit of Black Cat as of late.
