*Yawn* I just got back from work and I’m tired. This was my first time closing and we got out at about 11:30pm which isn’t that bad but I feel totally out of it. Hate that feeling>_<
Anyway, thanks to those who voted and commented on my Valentine drawing of Yuki! I appreciate it. A couple people on DeviantArt are having ninja fights to see who gets to keep my Yuki…even though I never said I was giving him away. Feh!

Anywho, today at work, I was doing maintenance near the manga section and there was this lady and a baby chilling out in that section. Soon, I noticed the mother sitting there reading a magazine while her baby started pulling mangas right off the shelves onto the floor. GAH! But it gets worse…the baby then started opening the books and wrinkling up the pages and the covers…like ruining wrinkling them. I tell you, my anime heart broke. I went up to the lady and told her to not let get baby do that since this *is* merchandise we’re trying to sell. Here’s the kick though, when I went up to her with just the “Excuse me,” part, she instantly jumped, snatched the books out of the baby’s hands and threw them back on the shelf…she knew her baby was up to no good but just plain didn’t care! I hate parents like that>_< She apologized though but it annoyed me.

Quote of the Day comes from SNL:
*And now, Deep Thought by Jack Handey*
“Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn’t seem quite so funny.”

Oh! And I started reading the manga ‘Loveless’ during my breaks at work. It’s so good! Piccy of the main characters:

I did a drawing just for this special lovey dovey holiday so:

It’s a drawing I actually did really quickly but I think it turned out cute…well, it’s Yuki dressed in a rat costume...how can it NOT be cute?^_~ Feel free to plop it on your site if you wish...as much as I would love to send each of you the html code for the card, it would take me waaaaaay toooooo looooooong on dial-up. I hope you all understand^^ Oh and I uploaded the full version into my fanart gallery so if you click the image it will take you to the full-sizer and comments and votes are always appreciated:-D *tickles everyone*

Anyone doing anything special for Valentines? I have the day off so I’m going to relax and read…I’m in the middle of this amazing book that’s part of the Drizzt Do’Urden series by R.A.Salvatore…anyone hear of them? If you like hot elves then this is the book for you…it also has that Inuyasha/Kagome romance type thing going on where you know the main elf character and the main girl character are SO insanely in love with each other but THEY WONT ADMIT IT!! BAH! Makes the story more interesting though, I suppose. Sexual tension makes any series better^^

Yeah, they predicted 10-15” of snow…we got 26.9!” We beat the last record for snowfall and there’s supposedly more on the way>_< Good thing I have these next couple days off! I know all day today, I heard stuck cars trying to pull away from the curb. It was so eerily quiet though…not hearing the cars and buses and people on the streets. It felt like being back home! *sigh* Home sickness eats away at me.

Anyway, I finally got to my Deviant Art site today and noticed that I had gotten a huge splurge of traffic onto my site and then I saw people leaving me congratulations comments and I was like…”huh?” I found out one of my drawings was chosen to be a Daily Deviation!! To those who don’t know DeviantArt well, there’s million of artists on this site and even millions more art pieces so every day, a few drawings that tend to stand out, are chosen to be features and they show up on the side of every page you view on DA. So, having a drawing of yours featured basically is an amazing and fast way to get yourself known so naturally, when I saw a drawing of mine was featured I was very honored and happy! I got over 4,000 page views today alone and 100’s of new people watching me to see when I make a new update!
It’s actually a pastel drawing I did back in senior year of high school! You can click on it if you would like to see the full-sizer:

Quote of the Day comes from a skit on MADTV:
President Bush: *holding up an article* “Look what it says here in the headline: ‘Poll: Bush Voted Worst President.’” *starts laughing* “Those idiots can’t even spell! They forgot to put the “e” after ‘poll’!”

Holy freakin’ snow storm, Batman! We’re supposed to get 10-15” of snow tonight. Feh!
I finally added new music! It’s a mix of 2 songs. For those who recognize the tune from the last 1/2 of it will get…uhh…respect. Heh.

Okay, most of you know that I now work at Barnes & Noble, right? Well, you want to know the #1 thing customers say to me when they want assistance:
“Um yeah, I’m looking for a book…”
*snicker* Gee, really? I’d say you came to the right place seeing as how we are a BOOKstore. At work today, I spent quite awhile organizing and babying the manga section. It’s hard to work along that section though since people like, camp out and have picnics there while they read the mangas. Bah.
I also met my soul mate. It’s a fellow co-worker and she and I are so alike it’s scary. We talked about Fruits Basket for like 45 minutes and why Yuki is the best character and who we think he should end up with. She really wants him and Tohru to get together and I want him and Machi to get together…it may be cheating on my part since I pretty much know who Yuki ends up with since I’m on volume 19 and she’s on 12^_~

Quote of the Day comes from the back of my Subway Metro Card:
“Please no running on the subways…although we applaud your boundless energy and zest for living.”
Yes…that is REALLY on the back of my NYC subway card. I happened to look at the back and couldn’t help giggling^_^

Thanks so much for all the compliments on my new theme! *blushes* I’ll probably end up uploading the wallpaper I made for my background so people can download the full-sizer version rather then trying to save the cropped one I use for Otaku.
Oh, and the Japanese bookstore in NYC I was talking about where I got the 3rd FMA artbook is called Kino Kuniya. It’s right next to Rockefeller Center which is a high tourist area since that’s where the big X-mas tree is lit and right near the NBC studios and stuff. They do have a website which is KinoKuniya.com and almost all the books there are imported so instead of waiting months or years for an anime artbook of manga, it’s right there! That’s where I got the official Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts II posters as well.

Have any of you heard of a store called Gucci? Most who have watched Sex and the City may know it but it’s an insanely expensive purse/bag/wallet/luggage store in NYC. How expensive? Well, a small purse there will run you over $800 and a lipstick case costs over $100. In other words, it’s a store for the rich people who have money to blow so they waste it on overly priced crap just for the name. Anywho, my friend, Harisson wanted to buy his girlfriend a Gucci wallet and asked me to come along to help pick out something. So we go into this store and all the clerks and security guards keep giving Harisson funky looks…I didn’t really understand it till I looked at what Harisson was wearing…a black DragonBall-Z t-shirt and bright green wind pants. That gave me laugh and they didn’t really give assistance to him till he whipped out the huge wad of cash. He ended up buying his girlfriend a wallet that costs $314. Yep, $314…for a stinkin’ wallet.>_<

Like the new theme? I went on and on on my last post about the new FMA artbook I got and how Ed’s all older(18 years old now) and stuff so I thought it appropriate to make a theme based on it. I’m very proud of the wallpaper in the background since I made it^_^ I scanned the image of Ed and Al there and re-painted over them to make them all bright and clean looking and then I scanned the forest image from another artbook I owned and put them in it instead. I think it came out really well and I uploaded a different wallpaper that I made and cleaned from the artbook and I’ll have a link for that at the bottom of the post. I think cleaning the scanned images is the hardest part. One doesn’t realize how dirty images look prior to being spiffed up.

Anywho, I got the job at Barnes and Noble!! I got offered a full-time position too so more $$=Elves is happy. And they put me in Zone 2 which is awesome because you know what’s in Zone 2? MANGAS! And Fantasy books too! Whee! I have a feeling I could blow my whole pay check there if I wanted but I’ll hold myself back. We get 30% off all merchandise and 50% of the café and we get 20% off at GameStop since it’s partially owned by B&N! Plus, we’re allowed to take-out hard cover books for free and bring them back in 14 days…it’s like a library! And during breaks, we’re allowed to bring any book or magazine into the backroom to read.
Oh, and I FINALLY got internet in my apartment! Only took…let’s see…almost a month and a 1/2? Verizon sure took its sweet ass pimp time but they’re giving me lots of free service since they screwed me over so much. I’m still on dial-up though but it’s actually pretty fast. Well, fast for dial-up…which isn’t saying much but it’s better then nothing. DSL should be available to me by Feb.20th but I’m not taking their word for it>_<

Here’s the wallpaper I just uploaded. I actually had to scan this in pieces and clean it up A LOT. I think I did well though so no seams can be seen. Anywho, just click the image if you want to download it^_^ It took me about 3 hours to do:

Thanks so much for all those who commented on my new drawing of Kisa! I always appreciate that and most noted this but I failed to mention it but yes, that is supposed to be an older version of Kisa. Sorry I forgot to say that. Heh. I'm glad so many of you like the green colors of it too! While drawing it, I was thinking of her dress and everything being in shades of lavender but then as soon as I picked up the colored pencils I changed my mind. Glad I did^^

Anywho, I'm still waiting for Verizon to send me the stinkin' CD's so I can install my dial-up at my apartment. Gah, it's taking SO freakin' long and it's angering me. I miss coming here on a daily basis and miss chatting with my pals on AIM and Messenger. It's amazing all the things I've been doing to pass my time though. I've read 6(yes 6) books and have watched a lot of anime. I started watching Full Metal Alchemist again since this is a series I've had on DVD for so long but keep putting it aside to watch other things.

I mostly started watching FMA again because my friend, Harisson took me to this kick-bootey Japanese bookstore near Rockefeller Center in Manhattan called...oh crap...KumiKunichi or something like that and oh man, I was in heaven. They had the 19th volume of Fruits Basket there! Screech! I bought the 3rd FMA artbook which probably wont be released to America for a few months. It shows Ed all grown up! He's 18 and sporting new clothes and there's some other kid I can't quite tell who it is that's basically wearing Ed's old uniform. That's mostly why I started watching FMA again since I want to learn who that kid is and such. I want to make some wallpapers from this artbook since the drawings in it are so beautiful and, I'm going to admit it, Ed's gotten hott!^_~
I also got the official posters from Kingdom Hearts 2! It came in a set of 2 and they're so pretty. Sora is still as adorable as ever but he's just all older now. I'm looking forward to finding out who the mysterious Cloud look-alike guy is with the gang. I also got a set of Final Fantasy: Advent Children posters too! Oh, so pretty. *pets* I'll be sure and give you guys the address for this bookstore so if you're ever in New York City, you should check it out because it is anime heavenly.

Whelp, I'm still using the campus computers because Verizon screwed me over with the DSL. Turns out I'm not within range of a DSL signal but by February 20th, they're installing one in this area and in the meantime they're giving me dial-up for free. Yeehaw. I still have to wait for the stinkin' CD to get here though. I'm not very happy with Verizon right now, I'm telling you that much. I ordered DSL over a month ago and suddenly they tell me it's not available. I'm living in NYC for crying out loud!! How can I not be in range?! Bah.

Anywho, these past few days I've been working on and off a drawing of Kisa and I finished it yesterday so if you could go take a look and vote and comment I'd be very grateful. JUST CLICKEY THE THUMBY:

I'm very pleased with how the coloring came out with this one. For some reason, it just seemed to blend better then normal.

How many of you have noticed the new bag design of the Doritos chips? I don't really like them. My friend, Harrison and I were looking at them in a store and discussing why the design doesn't really work and then Harrison stops, looks at me and says, "Are we really standing here critiquing a bag of chips?" And I answer, "It's sad to admit, but yes." Heh, happens when you're around other artist I suppose^_~

Late last night, I got back from the anime convention. It was so fun! I have pictures of me as Tifa to show you guys. I can't post them yet though since I'm still using the campus computers. Supposenly, tonight I should have DSL but the problem is...I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN MY FLIPPIN' MODEM!!! Gah! Verizon said that it should get to my house by the 27th-28th and *looks around* still not here. I ordered DSL over a month ago so you would think that instead of cutting it so close, they could have just sent it to me earlier. Feh.

Anywho, I sold quite a few prints of my drawings at the convention which made me happy. The 'Sasuke, Sex Me' drawing was the #1 seller. #2 seller was my 'Art of Ramen' drawing.
One of my fave parts of the convention was the 'Cosplay Chess,' in which people dressed in anime costume become pieces in a giant chess board. I was asked to be one of the pieces! Heehee...I was the Knight(which is the horsey piece that moves in "L" shapes). And guess which character was the King on the side I was defending...YUKI!! Haha! I found that to be so ironic. Link from Legend of Zelda was the Queen..*snicker.* Sasuke was the King on the opposing side. But anywho, there are the two chess players and they tell you where you move and when you defeat someone, you have to do it like your character and I ended up killing a few people with a fancy punch and kick looking thing and the audience would cheer for me^_^ I ended up getting killed by a character from 'One Piece'...Loopy or Luffy I think the character is named and the guys in the audience all booed when I got killed and then they applauded.
Then there was a masquerade dance and I got asked to dance by Sasuke, Yuki, and Squall from FF8...when people saw me dancing with Squall they were saying, 'Man, Cloud's going to be pissed!'

Later on, they did a live Mystery Science Theater 3000 which was performed by a group and they sat in the front of the theater making smart-ass jokes while we watched this really REALLY bad movie called 'Timeline.' It was SO funny and they made lots of Lord of the Rings jokes which pleased me. So yeah, over-all, I have a dandy time^_^

Quote of the Day comes from the Mystery Science Theater 3000 skit I mention above:
"What is it with straw roofs?! Don't they know they leak?! I mean, they have more holes in them then Boromir!!"

Wow, where to start. Well, I got the job for the AMC Theaters HOWEVER...I ended up turning it down. The pay for this job was actually really poor. It may seem like a lot for some of you but when you live in NYC, that pay was way too low and then I considered my travel. When I have to close, I wouldn't be getting out till around 2am or later and I'm not easily scared but riding the subways around that time of night by yourself makes me very edgy.
I still had the interview lined up for Barnes and Noble and I called them just asking what my pay would be and it was significantly higher plus, this store is so much closer(as in it would cut my travel distance time by over an hour a day).
So, I called and apologized to AMC and told them I wouldn't be able to work for them so now I have to keep my fingers crossed that Barnes and Noble will hire me. BAH!

Anyway, onto the fun stuff. I went out yesterday and found the 2 final pieces I needed for my Tifa costume which were the black leather gloves and the boots. I can't believe I found them both in one store! They actually look JUST like them too except with the boots, I have to spray paint the tips of them white. I tried on the costume to its fullest last night with the gloves and boots and it looks so good! I can't wait to go to the convention this weekend! I'll be sure and snap lots of pictures so you can see me in all my Tifa-splendor^_^

And as promised, I need to tell you guys the story I mentioned in my last post. This goes into my vault of I-Can't-Believe-What-An-Idiot-Humans-Can-Be.
Anyway, so a couple hours before the party on Saturday, my roomate and I kept hearing something clanking against the skylight of our hallway(we're on the top floor) and when we looked up, it was clouded over but we could see something banging against it and taking an object and dinging it against the window. My roomate is freaking out because when she looked up she saw a person looking in at us! So naturally, I started to worry too but I figured, our guests would be coming over soon so I'm sure the person will go away. Well, the guests all arrive and the person on the roof keeps going at it and getting louder and more repetitive! My friend John starts yelling up to him to stop and the dinging does stop but then starts up again. My roomie's boyfriend tells us we better call the police because it could be a psycho up there with a weapon trying to screw with our heads. So we call the police and they arrive and they try to see what's going on. They hear the tapping but they don't have a way to go on the roof to check so they tell us if it gets any worse, then call 911. So we're all there freaking out and then I say to everyone, "Screw this! I'm going to see what it is!" So, a couple of my friends follow me outside and we go as far across the street as we can to try and see on the roof. Well, we could and we found out who our "intruder" was...it was a tarp!!!!!! YES! A freakin' tarp!! There's a new condo being built next to our building and the construction workder hadn't tied down one of their tarps and it was flapping in the wind and banging against our roof and skylight! Hahaha! I was dying in laughter then I couldn't believe what an idiot I was. Everyone else at the party started rolling with laughter when I told them what it was. We called the freakin' police for crying out loud and it was a tarp the whole time! *smack forehead* Oh man, I feel intelligent.
