For all those who asked how I did the fur on the opossum drawing yesterday…uh, I dunno. Before I did it I was thinking ‘how the heck am I going to do this fur?’ And then I was like, swish, swash, swoosh with my pencil and there was the result! Heehee…I guess that was the sound it made there too^_~ And when I showed it to the member of the Historical Society in charge of the project she was like, ‘OMG!! I would have never thought of that!’ She really loved it. She loved both the images in fact and she looks forward to my final piece which illustrates the story called ‘Jailhouse George.’

Speaking of the other illustration (you can still see the image on the last post on my site), so many of you seem really interested in the story of the ‘Devil’s Elbow’ or ‘Lady in White’ story I drew it from. I’ll try and sum-up/re-tell it for those interested in this haunting tale so grab the popcorn, pillows and pjamies and here it be:
In the mid-1900’s there was a stretch of road called ‘The Devil’s Elbow.’ It was nicknamed that because there was this turn that was so sharp, that many people were killed because they did not slow down enough for it. After so many deaths and accidents, it was finally straightened out. However, to this day, it is said that a girl, also called ‘The Lady in White’ haunts the area where the Devil’s Elbow once was. It is said, that people will see her standing at the side of the road and they will pick her up in their vehicle and the girl will simply ask them “please take me to the bottom of the hill.” People think this is odd since 1)she is wearing a lovely, white dress, 2)She is carrying white flowers, 3)She looks like she is soaked although it had not been raining and 4)The place she wants to be taken too is not far away 5)It’s late at night. But people will start taking her to her requested spot and not far down the road, they will turn to look at her only to find that she has disappeared. All that remains is a wet spot and white flower petals where she had just been sitting. People have thought that the Lady in White is a girl who had disappeared in the 1950’s after a party where she had a fight with her boyfriend. Apparently, she had decided to walk home in the pouring rain and people believe that on her way home, she was struck by a vehicle on the Devil’s Elbow and the driver had dumped her remains somewhere. She was searched for but never found. That is until the day they straightened out the road in which time they found the remains of a young lady and they soon learned that she had died from a hard blow to the head.
So there you go folks, there be the summed-up version of the upstate NY tale of ‘The Lady in White.’^_^

I have to randomly tell you guys this…today, my cat was howling and I was getting irritated so what did I do? I howled back at him! But here’s the best part of it…if a cat could give the face of ‘WTF?’ That’s the exact look my cat gave me. For some reason, it made me laugh and then I petted him for his cuteness^_^ I end this post with a picture of Reno from Advent Children because he is one funny biznitch:-P
