Thanks to everyone who looked at my drawing yesterday! I appreciate that^_^ I went and bought a matte and a frame for it so I can have it all nice and pretty when I give it to my bro and sister-in-law for Christmas. Boy, was it crowded at them stores! Not surprising since those last minute shoppers are on the prowl.

YES! Glad so many of you remembered Ducktales when I mentioned it. Many said they were amazed my friend found it to buy it for me for my birthday but actually, Disney recently released it on DVD so it’s not that hard to find. I watched a bunch of it today and I must discuss something…I think some of you are going to think I’m officially nuts after this but I can’t help noticing things especially after I took a History of Animation class in college^_^ Anyway, today, I would say many of you would agree that Disney isn’t all that grand anymore. They make pretty crappy looking shows and their movies aren’t all that cracked up to what they used to be. Just watching my Ducktales DVD’s, I was just so wowed by the amount of effort Disney used to put into their older cartoons! This show ran from 1987 to…about early 90’s I’m guessing and I just kept noticing the amazing backgrounds and the fluid style of the characters! Yes, I even took screencaps of the episodes to emphasize my point:

Just look at that background!! This was back before computer art was used so this was all done by hand.
Here’s another:

This one more-so wows me by the camera angle. This is a shot of the characters climbing up a cliff towards the viewer. Unlike anime(which does often have nice angles) this animation is clean and fluid in that many more animation cels and artwork are involved at making the characters movement appear more life-like and…well, animated! Something that isn’t done anymore sadly since things are going to computer art. A little fact is that the show Animaniacs was the last cartoon created that was drawn and colored entirely by hand and used the fluid animation like the classic Looney Tunes cartoons.
Okay, sorry for that little discussion there. I just don’t think older cartoons like these are given the credit they should be. Plus, how many of you had a little blast from the past looking at those screencaps?^_~

Quote of the Day comes from ‘Robin Hood: Men in Tights:’
Maid Marian: “Oh, darling, don't despair! For it is written on a scroll: ‘One day, he, who is destined for me, shall be endowed with a magical key, that will bring an end to my... virginity.’”
Robin Hood: “Oh, Marian, if only 'twere me.”
Maid Marian: “Oh, if 'twere you, 'twould be... twerrific.”
