Dead
For my drivers Ed course today we got the assignment to pretend that we are dead as a result of drinking and driving. Family and friends are not allowed to talk to me and I'm not allowed to talk to them until tommorrow morning. Our instructor informed us that we drank too much at a party and got in a bad accident and died on our way home.
Did you know that more than forty kids a day in the U.S alone die in a car accident caused by ahcohol? Even one beer can affect you ability to drive. It not only endangers you it endagers everyone around you. I know you've heard this all before but it really struck me...even though I'm not done with this assignment yet. It's so hard watching your family basically ignore you.
Tommorrow in class we will get to read letter's our parents wrote to us about how the loss of their child will affect them and make them feel. Our teacher shared an example of a poem that a girl's father wrote to her. It was icredibly sad. I'm hoping that tommorrow I won't cry.
Please think twice before Drinking and Driving.
