Brilliance. F-ckin' Brilliance.
Last night I had a second to last jammage practice with the bandboys before our show on Thursday. We're probably going to have one today (Tuesday). Actually, we damn well better. We learned Yokan by Dir En Grey last night but Mr. Vocalist wasn't there to sing. We'll try it tonight.

When I was naming my role models yesterday, I mentioned someone named Andrew W.K. If you don't know who he is, he's the blue jeans and white t-shirt wearing long-haired inspirational party-dude who sang wicked awesome tunes like "She Is Beautiful" "Party Hard" and "We Want Fun" (from Jackass: The Movie's Official Soundtrack). Here's a link to his website:

ANDREW W.K.

If you scroll down from the main photo, you'll see an incredibly looooong journal/blog of what Andrew has to say. His words are all over the place but if you read a paragraph or two, you'll know what I mean when I say he's inspirational. He's SO positive. He loves life. He's living it. He chooses to make the best of every aspect of it. Especially enjoying it with partying. Because of his inspiration, I decided to write him a letter and thank him for the awesome words of wisdom. And I totally did not expect return mail. But look what he sent back:

Can you freakin' believe that? First of all, he sent a signed photo. I mean, that was more than enough for me. But then he scribbles these crazy-positive words of inspiration! And he didn't finish there! He sent a postcard and signed it too! And on the opposite side, he wrote even more words of inspiration! He didn't even stop there! He sent a fluorescent yellow sheet with random images (including a smiling baby) and even MORE words of inspiration. He challenges people to never let down and have a kick-ass time doing it. As a drummer, an artist, a Pixie's boy, a son, a brother, a friend and everything else I am, these words motivate me in ways I never thought words ever could. He is so cool. I strive to have a positive attitude like he does. You know all those times I've been down and out or incredibly pissed? I visit his website or read over what he sent me. It picks me up and I'm ready for another day. His music (especially his whole first album) is nothing but catchy, adrenaline pumpin', motivating rock tunes. Not to mention the ultra head banging goodness. I'll sacrifice my neck muscles for his music anytime.

"THE ROYAL LEGION OF PARTIERS AND LIFE LOVERS". Honestly, you couldn't be a part of a better group of people.

Whooooooooo!!! I'm so psyched right now! It's friggin' 4:28 in the morning but whatever! I can't wait for the show. I'm going to give all that I've got and more. Which reminds me, I had better buy some more sticks.

I've sent Pixie a print of her drawing with a little note. I think it's a neat little way of saying "I miss you". And I do. Very very much. Methinks she will be coming to the show. I can picture myself pointing her out with my drumstick and winking at her or something corny like that. Heh. It's a cute thought but we'll leave it at that. A thought.

Speaking of which, my bandboys and I have been having weird thoughts about the show coming up. We'd imagine the worst like nobody clapping after a set or the best like a small time indie label wanting to sign us (even though we're only covering other artists for now). Gah. Our minds went mad. But we know they're at least working properly. Whatever happens, we're going out for some Korean BBQ afterwards. Now THAT I'm looking forward to. Yum...

When it's time to party, we will PARTY HARD!!!

Have a fun, rockin' day.

Cheers.
