Practice makes close to perfect. Too much practice fucks you up.
This is statement was proven yesternight with a side of pain.

The auditorium we're performing at required us to perform a soundcheck. So we set up. The other bands who are performing just left so other than a few people running the show we had the place to ourselves. We did the sound check of the century. I mashed away like there was no tomorrow even though I could easily be heard (with two guitars and a bass blasting at the same time). It was good. We were informed that we'll need an encore song just in case. Since we recently learned Yokan by Dir En Grey, we thought we might as well do that. However, Mr. Vocalist hadn't practiced with us yet and we were still a bit off here and there. So we packed up our stuff and had a jam practice specifically for that one song. We played it over and over..

...and over and over and over. We still haven't gotten it down perfectly so we would've kept playing if it weren't for our fatigue and injuries. Both guitarists got headaches and were drained of energy and Mr. Bassist has two very shiny callouses on his fingers. And me? I have about six blisters on my hands. I was gripping the sticks too tightly and I play hard. Bad combination. It looked so gross. They were different colours too because blood seeped into some while others stayed clear. Let's put it this way. One was grape, another cherry, another dark cherry, one strawberry, another was lemon and the last one was pink bubblegum. Yeah. Really gross. I hope they heal before the live. Argh! I also got a few cuts on my fingers from splinters while playing. I never stop in the middle of a song but I knew something was wrong. My middle finger on one handand my ring finger on the other were in great pain and little droplets of blood started splashing on my snare drum. I thought it was pretty wicked actually. Stung like a bitch but wicked nonetheless.

I'm hoping to get some decent rest too and perhaps work on stretches and warm ups before the show. Just in case my arm muscles tighten (which is a really bad thing for a drummer).

Andrew W.K. is seriously getting me pumped for the show. I still have those worries though. But they're nothing really. Ack! I can't wait!

Today we're having a rehearsal. We're going to run throught the whole show and time it and whatnot. I hope our madness scares the piss out of the other bands. MWAH HA HA!!!

*ahem*

Yeah. That's it. I'm seriously in pain right now and completely drained.

Cheers.
