   Hi! Notes for Joy and Strength.
It is true! ^_^ Sometimes hard to remember and act on, because life is hard, but this is true.

2 Nephi 26:23-28
For behold, my beloved brethren, I say unto you that the Lord God worketh not in darkness.
He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation.
Behold, doth he cry unto any, saying: Depart from me? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; but he saith: Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk and honey, without money and without price.

Equus: I told you we have a new puppy, right? Little Jing is so cute. Right now he's napping in his crate, and he's on his side and back with his little paws sticking every whichway. He's so cute!

Sano: >.> I've been replaced by a puppy.

Equus: (glomps Sano) Nothing could ever replace you. ^_^

Sano: ^/^

Xihuitl: Anyway, Jing loves to take walks and play with the other dogs and toys. He's still a bit hesitant, though, for various reasons. Jusea came and is gone again. She couldn't get more time off of work than she did.

Equus: And her plane was held up in Chicago for over three hours. We (Starflower, Thias, and I) didn't even know until we got there. Jusea didn't even know it was going to be that long.

Xihuitl: And Equus forgot that she'd set her phone to non-roaming, so she couldn't use it.

Equus: Mom mentioned it yesterday, on our way back from dropping Jusea off. We had so much fun. We did scripture study together, and we talked about TV shows and movies and stories, and we went to a Festival and had at least one Border Collie usually, and we got to dress up in 17th or 18th century dresses (I forget which) and have a blast. ^_^

Xihuitl: Love and hugs, all.

Equus: Oh, I have to visit DarkLynx9701 later on.

Xihuitl: Probably not until tomorrow.

Equus: (pout) I know. But she has company!

Xihuitl: >.> If you can call it that. And they won't be in until later today.

   Hello! Glad tiding!
"[A] reliance upon the merciful nature of God is at the very center of the gospel Christ taught. I testify that the Savior's Atonement lifts from us not only the burden of our sins but also the burden of our disappointments and sorrows, our heartaches and our despair (see Alma 7:11-12). From the beginning, trust in such help was to give us both a reason and a way to improve, an incentive to lay down our burdens and take up our salvation. Nevertheless, the soul that comes unto Christ, who knows His voice and strives to do as He did, finds a strength, as the hymn says, 'beyond [his] own' ("Lord, I Would Follow Thee," Hymns, no. 220). The Savior reminds us that He has 'graven [us] upon the palms of [His] hands' (1 Nephi 21:16). Considering the incomprehensible cost of the Crucifixion and Atonement, I promise you He is not going to turn His back on us now. When He says to the poor in spirit, 'Come unto me,' He means He knows the way out and He knows the way up. He knows it because He has walked it. He knows the way because He is the way."

Equus: Hi, everyone! Two important items of business. One, my friend Starflower has finally joined MyOtaku! Her name is DarkLynx9701, and Starflower is one of her...um...multiple personalities. It's kind of a long story as to why I call her Starflower and now she's DarkLynx9701, so--

Xihuitl: So we're not going to worry about it right now. But welcome! Two, Equus's family now has a puppy. ^.^ He's a cute little 11-week-old. Jingles is cute as anything and has a very thoughtful expression. He finds Equus a little unnerving still, but he's not used to her.

Haru-clone: (laughs as Jingles licks his fingers) Can we take the dogs out?

Equus: Of course. Let's all go for a walk. Come on, Mudpie, Blue, Cloud! (grabs Sano's arm) Walkies!

All three dogs run to the door, and Haru-clone carefully puts on the puppy's leash, since he's still, well, just a puppy.

Xihuitl: Love and hugs, friends. We'll talk to you soon. God be with you, and Jesus Christ and Their Holy Spirit.

Equus: By the way, CTRNikkiM, the bishie you love is worth it. (squeezes Sano) Kurama-kun must love you to hang around.

Fact of the day: Rhubarb stalks are edible (and yummy with strawberries in pie or with sugar). The leaves, however, are toxic. Burdocks, I believe, are edible when young. So be careful what you eat!

Kyo-clone: I told you, she shouldn't be hugging other guys, then.

Emeraulde: He did forgive her.

Kyo-clone: >.> That's because she started crying.

Fact of the day: In mythology, while the European dragon was fierce and evil, the Chinese dragon was often beneficent and wise. The European unicorn was also wild, though it also came to be used as a symbol for Christ. The Chinese unicorn was so gentle that it wouldn't even walk on grass. I think.

Xihuitl: ^^; K-C, you don't need to tell everyone the details.

Kyo-clone: If I was going to tell them all the details, I've hardly started.

Xihuitl: Anyway. (glares at K-C) So Equus doesn't feel like saying hi right now. She's pretty depressed. If she stops crying, she'll probably write a beautiful apology to Sano.

Kyo-clone: Now who's giving too many details? (leaves the room)

Kurama-clone: (comes in) Miss Xihuitl, do you know where Miss Equus keeps the flour?

Xihuitl: In the pantry. Why?

Kurama-clone: She asked if I would make her some chocolate chip cookies.

Xihuitl: For Sano?

Kurama-clone: ^^; I think they're for herself. She's already confiscated most of the milk.

Xihuitl: Equus!

Kakashi-clone: Please excuse Xihuitl, Equus, and the rest of us for this recess of the court.

Haru-clone: What court? (gives Emeraulde more alfalfa to eat)

Fact of the day: A clan can have multiple tartans. There is the basic tartan (a general or everyday tartan?), compared to the more subdued hunting tartan and also the ceremonial tartan.

   Update
Equus: Yep, I worked on my room today. ^_^ It's not done, but I got stuff put away and thrown out. :D

Xihuitl: And yes, Refi-chan, that is cool. And Refi-chan is our site of the day! Isaiah (and learning the history) is awesome. As for the Book of Mormon, our Institute teacher made the point last night that Joseph Smith Jr. could not be a false and scribe and do such good things. We're learning about the parables of Jesus Christ this class, and we were on the parable about good trees bringing forth good fruit, evil trees bringing forth evil fruit, and their inability to do otherwise.

Kurama-clone: When you get people who supposedly do good works, like bringing stability to their land, but they only do it by oppressing the people and causing fear in their lives--those are evil trees.

Equus: And people who don't seek for their own glory, but for the glory of God and to help their fellow man--like Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith--they are good fruits. And other people, too. ^_^

Scriptures of the Day

Ruth 1:14-17

Beautiful words, and a beautiful faith and loyalty. Through her goodness, Ruth became an ancestor of Jesus Christ. She followed God's plan for her and was kind, loving, and obedient. And thus she was blessed. We can be likewise--charitable, having the pure love of Christ. In His holy name, Jesus Christ, amen. Please read on. Love in Christ.

Fact of the Day
Gifs--as far as I know--are basically multiple frames animated to change (with special transitions or not) from one frame to the next. Smooth gifs (my own term ^^) like a moving smiley face are like hand animation, where they have multiple frames, each slightly different from the one before. Each one is only on the screen for a brief moment before the next shows up, creating the illusion of movement. ^_^ Love and hugs and pocket hugs.
