   Added Notes
If you ever have questions about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, feel free to ask me or Refi. Please be polite ^_^ but don't worry about a question sounding silly, stupid, or offensive if it isn't meant to be. Hugs and love! God the Father and Jesus Christ's love be with you, and Their Holy Spirit.

Becoming Our Best Selves
President Thomas S. Monson, Liahona and Ensign, April 2006, 2–6

(There's a link right near the top of the page's main content.)

"In the search for our best selves, several questions will guide our thinking: Am I what I want to be? Am I closer to the Savior today than I was yesterday? Will I be closer yet tomorrow? Do I have the courage to change for the better?"

[...]

Giving Our Lives in Service

The years have come and the years have gone, but the need for a testimony of the gospel continues paramount. As we move toward the future, we must not neglect the lessons of the past. Our Heavenly Father gave His Son. The Son of God gave His life. We are asked by Them to give our lives, as it were, in Their divine service. Will you? Will I? Will we? There are lessons to be taught; there are kind deeds to be done; there are souls to be saved.

Let us remember the counsel of King Benjamin: "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Reach out to rescue those who need your help. Lift such to the higher road and the better way. As we sing in Primary: "Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, / Help me find the way. / Teach me all that I must do / To live with him someday."

Real faith is not restricted to childhood but rather applies to all. We learn from the Proverbs:

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

"In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

When we do, we will come to realize that we have been on His holy errand, that His divine purposes have been fulfilled, and that we have shared in that fulfillment.

(emphasis added)

The greatest of all commandments--love thy God with all thy heart, mind, and might. The second commandment is like unto it--love thy neighbor as thyself.

Herein lie all the laws and the prophets. (Including the ten commandments; they all fit under this.)

Paraphrase from scriptures, etc.

   ^_^ Job hunting!
Doctrine and Covenants 93:45-46
Verily, I say unto my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., or in other words, I will call you friends, for you are my friends, and ye shall have an inheritance with me—
I called you servants for the world’s sake, and ye are their servants for my sake—

Doctrine and Covenants 110:14-16
Behold, the time has fully come, which was spoken of by the mouth of Malachi—testifying that he [Elijah] should be sent, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord come—
To turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curse—
Therefore, the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands; and by this ye may know that the great and dreadful day of the Lord is near, even at the doors.

And thus may we prepare, together. May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, and Their love and Spirit.

Update

Xihuitl: Equus has been forced to face the realities of life. Well...sort of. She's been working in fast food for over six months now, and she is finally applying herself more to the task of securing new work. She hopes to get a job that pays better, has better hours for her lifestyle wishes, and looks better on a resume than fast food and gas stations.

Equus: Excuse me, Xihuitl, but I have also worked at the university's bookstore.

Xihuitl: Which is, in some ways, the best job you've had. But still, you know the resume will look better if you can say "Secretary for a business office" or something like that. The job she's applying for is secretary work, at a type of business.

Equus: Yes, and with better hours. ^_^ Though chances are high that I won't get the job, at least I can try.

Xihuitl: And do better at your current job, as well.

Equus: ^^; Yes.

Xihuitl: Equus had few days of work last week between scheduling issues and a slight problem in getting a friend home. But no more!

Kakashi #4: She could take some of the dogs with her. They'd protect her.

Xihuitl: Well, it isn't exactly a protection issue. She was just given the wrong schedule by mistake.

Kurama-clone: But it caused Miss Equus distress.

Equus: Aw, thanks, guys. (glomps the clones) But it's okay, really. ^_^

Xihuitl: Yep. Signing off, this is Xihuitl, from Equus's Farm of Insanity.

Equus: (waves excitedly) Have a good day! May God our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, and Their love and Spirit. Oh, K-C, would you give everyone their pocket-hugs pack?

Kyo-clone: (hands out little purple, blue, and green envelopes) Here are your pocket hugs for the day. Have a good day.

Equus & Xihuitl: Bye!

Fact of the day: Bulls have more muscular shoulders and larger heads than cows. If you're observant, you can recognize the black bull standing in the middle of a herd of black cows just from his head, and shoulder, shape.

Doctrine and Covenants 109:13-16, 19, 21, 22-23
And that all people who shall enter upon the threshold of the Lord’s house may feel thy power, and feel constrained to acknowledge that thou hast sanctified it, and that it is thy house, a place of thy holiness.
And do thou grant, Holy Father, that all those who shall worship in this house may be taught words of wisdom out of the best books, and that they may seek learning even by study, and also by faith, as thou hast said;
And that they may grow up in thee, and receive a fulness of the Holy Ghost, and be organized according to thy laws, and be prepared to obtain every needful thing;
And that this house may be a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of glory and of God, even thy house;
• • •
And that all their salutations may be in the name of the Lord, with holy hands, uplifted to the Most High;
• • •
And when thy people transgress, any of them, they may speedily repent and return unto thee, and find favor in thy sight, and be restored to the blessings which thou hast ordained to be poured out upon those who shall reverence thee in thy house.
And we ask thee, Holy Father, that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power, and that thy name may be upon them, and thy glory be round about them, and thine angels have charge over them;
And from this place they may bear exceedingly great and glorious tidings, in truth, unto the ends of the earth, that they may know that this is thy work, and that thou hast put forth thy hand, to fulfil that which thou hast spoken by the mouths of the prophets, concerning the last days.

God's and Christ's love be with you all. Bye!

Hi-za!
"As someone has said, there is a big difference between 20 years' experience and 1 year's experience repeated 20 times. If we understand the Lord's teachings and promises, we will learn and grow from our adversities."

Well...I'm gonna revamp my introduction sometime, but not now. ^^ I'm here with the doggies and am going to be talking to Starflower shortly. I encourage people who like to write stories with other people to check out the Roleplay Capital.

"Believe in God. Believe in God the Eternal Father. He is the great Governor of the universe, but He is our Father and our God to whom we may go in prayer. We are His sons and daughters. Have you ever really thought that you were a child of God and that you have something of divinity within you?

"Believe in God and be not faithless. Worship Him in spirit and in truth. Believe in Him. Read His word and follow His teachings.

"Believe in Jesus Christ. . . . He is the Son of God, who came to earth, who left the royal courts on high and came and dwelt among men and gave His life for each of us, for you and for me. It is through Him that we approach the Father. Be not faithless, but believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior and the Redeemer of the world" (meeting, Moscow, Russia, Sept. 10, 2002).

An Unquenchable Faith

"May you carry in your hearts an unquenchable faith, a certain knowledge of the great and salient things of the gospel of Jesus Christ of which you are a part—this the Church and kingdom of God—that the God of heaven and His Beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, parted the curtains in this [day] and opened Themselves to the view of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

"Do you have a certain faith in that? That John the Baptist came? That Peter, James, and John; Moses, Elias, and Elijah came and restored the priesthood and its keys in ushering in this great dispensation? And that when all is said and done, this is where the truth lies?

"Do you have in your heart that certain faith? If you do, the load will be light, I promise you. If you do not, . . . there is a way to get it. And the Savior pointed out that way when He said, 'If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself' (John 7:17)" (regional conference, American Fork, Utah, Aug. 24, 2002).

2 Nephi 25:26

And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.

Thank you, katocool and Night Shade2, for visiting me. ^_^

Hugs and pocket hugs for all! May Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Their Holy Spirit and love be with you. Ciao!

Hi!
Wow, I'm posting in the morning. ^_^

2 Nephi 7:7
For the Lord God will help me, therefore shall I not be confounded. Therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

This is talking about the Messiah, but I think it can also apply to His righteous followers. We need not fear the world, for we trust the Lord God. He will take care of us. "We look beyond this mortal realm to an eternal kingdom of glory, and that is what we are striving for, not this." A paraphrase, kinda.

   Scriptures!
Pocket hugs, everyone!

Enos 1

2 And I will tell you of the wrestle which I had before God, before I received a remission of my sins.
3 Behold, I went to hunt beasts in the forests; and the words which I had often heard my father speak concerning eternal life, and the joy of the saints, sunk deep into my heart.
4 And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.
5 And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed.
6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away.
7 And I said: Lord, how is it done?
8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.
9 Now, it came to pass that when I had heard these words I began to feel a desire for the welfare of my brethren, the Nephites; wherefore, I did pour out my whole soul unto God for them.

Doctrine & Covenants 93

20 For if you keep my commandments you shall receive of his fulness, and be glorified in me as I am in the Father; therefore, I say unto you, you shall receive grace for grace.
21 And now, verily I say unto you, I was in the beginning with the Father, and am the Firstborn;
22 And all those who are begotten through me are partakers of the glory of the same, and are the church of the Firstborn.
23 Ye were also in the beginning with the Father; that which is Spirit, even the Spirit of truth;
24 And truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come;
25 And whatsoever is more or less than this is the spirit of that wicked one who was a liar from the beginning.
26 The Spirit of truth is of God. I am the Spirit of truth, and John bore record of me, saying: He received a fulness of truth, yea, even of all truth;
27 And no man receiveth a fulness unless he keepeth his commandments.
28 He that keepeth his commandments receiveth truth and light, until he is glorified in truth and knoweth all things.
29 Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be.
30 All truth is independent in that sphere in which God has placed it, to act for itself, as all intelligence also; otherwise there is no existence.
31 Behold, here is the agency of man, and here is the condemnation of man; because that which was from the beginning is plainly manifest unto them, and they receive not the light.
[...]
33 For man is spirit. The elements are eternal, and spirit and element, inseparably connected, receive a fulness of joy;
34 And when separated, man cannot receive a fulness of joy.
35 The elements are the tabernacle of God; yea, man is the tabernacle of God, even temples; and whatsoever temple is defiled, God shall destroy that temple.
36 The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth.

LadyLenaJade and a friend of hers were in an accident last week. She's fine, but please pray for everyone who was in the accident.

And a response to Night Shade2, yes, Starflower is a friend of mine. Her character Starflower made a cameo appearance at the masquerade. She was dancing with Dark.

Love to everyone! I'll write more later. Hugs! God and Jesus Christ be with you, and Their love and Holy Spirit.

   Hi!
I ended up working today, even though I wasn't scheduled to. But I was (unbenkownest to me) supposed to work on Thursday. They called, but I ended up not working. And while it was my choice, I did choose to work today. I got to spend time with Starflower all the same, last night and a bit this morning. ^_^

And I hope to go to a Highland Festival in a little over a month. It's one we go to every year we can. ^_^

Luke 18:33

33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

So shall we, too. A great blessing. ^_^ Isn't it wonderful? Death is not the end. This life is our test, and then we go on to immortality, and if we do our best in Christ Jesus, to eternal salvation. Let's help each other--it's such a beautiful goal! Love from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to all!

"With you, I have sung, as others have sung for almost three centuries[...]

Joy to the world, the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King!
Let ev’ry heart prepare him room,
And Saints and angels sing.

Rejoice! Rejoice in the Most High,
While Israel spreads abroad
Like stars that glitter in the sky,
And ever worship God.

(Hymns, no. 201)

My heart is subdued when I think of the great love of my Heavenly Father. How grateful I am to know that God loves us. The incomprehensible depth of that love found expression in the gift of His Only Begotten Son to come into the world to bring hope into our hearts, to bring kindness and courtesy into our relationships, and above all to save us from our sins and guide us on the way that leads to eternal life.

Marvelous is the chronicle that began with the singing of angels at Bethlehem and ended on Golgotha’s cruel cross. There is no other life to compare with His life. He was the one perfect man to walk the earth, the paragon of excellence, the singular example of perfection.

I sense in a measure the meaning of His Atonement. I cannot comprehend it all. It is so vast in its reach and yet so intimate in its effect that it defies comprehension.
[...]
How grateful I am to know that God loves us. The incomprehensible depth of that love found expression in the gift of His Only Begotten Son."

Deuteronomy 11

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:

21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

22 ¶ [...Y]e shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him[...]

26 ¶ Behold, I set before you this day a blessing [...]

27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

Fact of the day:
Illuminated texts were those scriptures in the Middle Ages that had pictures drawn on the pages. Beautiful artwork around the text. Perhaps for the benefit (or so I've heard) of the ordinary people who couldn't read, much less in Latin, so that they could learn the Bible stories. I like the story of Daniel in the lions' den.

Hugs and love! God and and Jesus Christ be with you, and Their Holy Spirit and love! Take care!

"Yep Jesus Christ taught us love and we must work hard to love others and spread his Word. We must do our best to spread His Commandments and have faith within God :)"

Believe in God

"Believe in God. Believe in God the Eternal Father. He is the great Governor of the universe, but He is our Father and our God to whom we may go in prayer. We are His sons and daughters. Have you ever really thought that you were a child of God and that you have something of divinity within you?

Cultivate Family Relationships

"Let us not live a life . . . that would bring regret. . . . It is not going to matter very much how much money you made, what kind of a house you lived in, what kind of a car you drove, the size of your bank account—any of those things. What is going to matter is that dear woman who has walked with you side by side as your companion through all of the years of life and those children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their faithfulness and their looking to you . . . with respect and love and deference and kindness. . . .

"The only things you will take with you, when all is said and done, are your family relationships. . . . God bless us to be good fathers, . . . good parents, and good husbands to our good wives" (meeting, Pleasant Grove, Utah, Jan. 18, 2003).

   More posting! XD
Here's another post for today, and please read my post from yesterday. I say that because I posted it rather late, and I don't know how many people actually saw it. And remember, always feel free to write to me. ^_^ I like writing with people. XD

2 Nephi 2:6-10

Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.
Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved.
And because of the intercession for all, all men come unto God; wherefore, they stand in the presence of him, to be judged of him according to the truth and holiness which is in him.[...]

One way for all men. And it is open to all of us. ^_^ Hugs and glomps! May God and Jesus Christ be with you.

Fact of the day: There are multiple types of vultures--not buzzards, but vultures.

*Equus.*

Well, okay, there are multiple types of buzzards, too. But I'm talking about the black vulture and the turkey vulture that I know because they live in the United States. The black vulture has a black head; the turkey vulture has a red head. I have only seen the turkey consistenly here. Its wings are held at an angle when it soars, so that they make a shallow V. That's one way to tell them from hawks.

Update:

*Equus may be submitting some things for a talent show display tomorrow night. She wants to show her sketchbook and her writing. And just because, she would like to share a poem with you today.*

^/^ I hope you guys like it.

To Cross the Bridge

It was a hard bridge to cross,
And I’d taken my time getting there.
I didn’t know if I could pay the cost
Required to lay my heart bare
To a stranger, such as
This person would be.
The yawning darkness of the pass
Threatened their judgment of me.
But my mom put her hand on my shoulder
And led me up to the bridge.
“I’ve crossed this pass,” came her whisper.
“Just do it inch by inch.”
So I inched onto the wooden slats
And soon found that I could stride.
While I still trembled, I moved ahead,
And if I hesitated, my mother was still at my side.

(bows) Thank you for your time. Remember, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you always and perfectly!

*Have a nice day, all. Hugs and love. May God the Father, Jesus Christ, and Their Holy Spirit be with you all.*

Take care! Pocket hugs! Take as many as you need. ^_^
