Hi-za!
President Ezra Taft Benson has said, “We have a sacred responsibility to fulfill the threefold mission of the Church—first, to teach the gospel to the world; second, to strengthen the membership of the Church wherever they may be; third, to move forward in the work of salvation for the dead.” (General Conference, April 1986.)
1 Nephi 21
The Lord will not forget us, for He has Atoned for us. His love is great.
^_^ Hugs! God and Jesus Christ be with you. Take care.
Jesus Christ taught great love, partly by example, from himself and from others. Love Him, God, and others, too. Sometimes it's hard, but all good things take effort.
Love each other, as Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you!
May God's Spirit be with you.

1 Nephi 15:14-15
And at that day shall the remnant of our seed know that they are of the house of Israel, and that they are the covenant people of the Lord; and then shall they know and come to the knowledge of their forefathers, and also [...] of the gospel of their Redeemer, which was ministered unto their fathers by him; wherefore, they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer and the very points of his doctrine, that they may know how to come unto him and be saved.
And then at that day will they not rejoice and give praise unto their everlasting God, their rock and their salvation? Yea, at that day, will they not receive the strength and nourishment from the true vine? Yea, will they not come unto the true fold of God?
God loves us, so He shows us what path is safe and leads to salvation--an eternal life of joy with Him, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, and each other, friends and family.

Gems from the Teachings of Church Leaders
---------------------------------------------------
Family Strength Comes through Prayer
"The source of our enormous individual and family strength is no mystery. It is an endowment from God. We need not consume addicting chemicals found in drugs and alcohol to make us capable of meeting life's problems. We need only draw constantly from the divine power source through humble prayer.
It often takes a seemingly superhuman effort to get everyone together for family home evening. You may not always feel like praying when you finally do get together, but it will pay great dividends if you persevere."
Topics: Family, prayer
(James E. Faust, "Enriching Our Lives through Family Home Evening," Liahona, June 2003, 4)
We Must Journey to Higher Ground
"How do we know which direction we are headed? When the Savior walked the earth He was asked to name the greatest commandment. Without hesitation He said: 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
'This is the first and great commandment."
'And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.'
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets' (Matthew 22:37-40).
In these verses, the Lord offers a clear way of knowing if we are on the right path. Those who journey to higher ground love the Lord with all their hearts. We see in their lives manifestations of that love. They seek their God in prayer and plead for His Holy Spirit. They humble themselves and open their hearts to the teachings of the prophets. They magnify their callings and seek to serve rather than be served. They stand as witnesses of God. They obey His commandments and grow strong in their testimony of the truth.
They also love Heavenly Father's children, and their lives manifest that love. They care for their brothers and sisters. They nurture, serve, and sustain their spouses and children. In the spirit of love and kindness, they build up those around them. They give freely of their substance to others. They mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort (see Mosiah 18:9)."This journey to higher ground is the pathway of discipleship to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a journey that will ultimately lead us to exaltation with our families in the presence of the Father and the Son."
Topics: Commandments, magnifying your calling, exaltation, charity
(Joseph B. Wirthlin, "Journey to Higher Ground," Ensign, Nov. 2005, 19)
Elder David A. Bednar on Integrity and Honesty
"Becoming people of integrity and honesty does not occur quickly or all at once, nor is it merely a matter of greater personal discipline. It is a change of disposition, a change of heart. And this gradual change of heart is one that the Lord accomplishes within us, through the power of His Spirit, in a line-upon-line fashion. . . .
"Remember that becoming people of integrity and honesty is not simply a matter of more personal determination, more grit, and more willpower; rather, it is accomplished through the enabling power of the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ.
"I believe the best test of our integrity and honesty is when we personally enforce in our own lives that which ultimately cannot be enforced."
("Be Honest," New Era, Oct. 2005, 9)

Fact of the day: In border collies, collies, Australian shepherds, and Shetland sheepdogs, there are a few different colors. For example: the classic black and white of the BC; the gold or brown, black-tipped sable of Lassie; and the mottled merle (blue or red), which involves a mix of different colors--maybe white, black, and either grey or red.
About wild horses: As I understand it, there is only one type of true wild horse (though there are other wild equines). Any other "wild" horses are feral, like the mustang or the Chincoteague ponies.

"All difficulties which might and would cross our way must be surmounted. Though the soul be tried, the heart faint, and the hands hang down, we must not retrace our steps; there must be decision of character . . . . When instructed, we must obey that voice, observe the laws of the kingdom of God, that the blessing of heaven may rest down upon us."

1 Nephi 21:16
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
Alma 7:11-14
And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.
Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness.
God be with you, and Jesus Christ, and Their Holy Spirit. And...

God's Love Transforms Us

About the previous fact of the day...I've learned some of those words from my parents, and I checked many with my mom before posting. She took Latin in school, I live on a farm, and my family loves animals. My dad knows some of them, too, possibly. ^_^
Fact of the day: While there are many wild equines around, such as the zebra, there is only one truly wild horse left. Pzewalski's horse...or something like that. ^^; What's the difference between wild and feral? A feral animal, like the mustang, is a domesticated animal that has "gone wild" while a wild animal was not domesticated. There does seem to be a difference in their mentalities, but I could be wrong. ^_^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update
Equus: Well, Xihuitl has been spending a lot of time with Kahn. Kakashi and Kyo are having fun mapping the farm out. (It's a very big farm.) Kurama's been helping around the house and garden. Haru's been helping in the barn. And I've been hanging out with Sano and Starflower and Dark. ^_^ So there isn't much to update on right now.
Xihuitl: And that sketch you were going to do?
Equus: Meep.
Hugs, love, and remember, God our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ our Lord love you. May Their love be felt and Their Spirit be with you. Glomps and pocket hugs!
JOY!
Alma 26: 34-35
For behold, they would take up arms against their brethren; they would not suffer themselves to be slain. But behold how many of these have laid down their lives; and we know that they have gone to their God, because of their love and of their hatred to sin.
Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name.
Alma 29: 16
Now, when I think of the success of these my brethren my soul is carried away, even to the separation of it from the body, as it were, so great is my joy.
quote
"When I hear of a family breaking up, I question if family home
evening and family prayers have been regularly held in that home. Surely,
the most important ingredient in producing happiness at home for members of
this Church is a deep religious commitment to God and His gospel. In family
home evening, such commitment can be nurtured in children by the wise,
mature supervision of parents. Couples can strengthen and sustain each
other in living and understanding gospel principles. Single members can
gather under the direction of their priesthood leaders in small groups for
gospel discussions and appropriate activities. Devotion to God developed in
these settings seems to forge the spiritual moorings and stability that can
help families and individuals cope with the complexities of life. Some may
say this is an oversimplification of a very complex problem, yet I believe
the answers lie within the framework of the restored gospel of Jesus
Christ."
3 Ne. 11
4 And it came to pass that again they heard the voice, and they understood it not.
5 And again the third time they did hear the voice, and did open their ears to hear it; and their eyes were towards the sound thereof; and they did look steadfastly towards heaven, from whence the sound came.
6 And behold, the third time they did understand the voice which they heard; and it said unto them:
7 Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him.
8 And it came to pass, as they understood they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold, they saw a Man descending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them; and the eyes of the whole multitude were turned upon him[...]
9 And it came to pass that he stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people, saying:
10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.
11 And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered [done] the will of the Father in all things from the beginning.
[...]
14 Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.
17 Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus, and did aworship him.
18 And it came to pass that he spake unto Nephi [...] and he commanded him that he should come forth.
19 And Nephi arose and went forth, and bowed himself before the Lord and did kiss his feet.
20 And the Lord commanded him that he should arise. And he arose and stood before him.
21 And the Lord said unto him: I give unto you power that ye shall baptize this people when I am again ascended into heaven.
22 And again the Lord called others, and said unto them likewise; and he gave unto them power to baptize. And he said unto them: On this wise shall ye baptize; and there shall be no disputations among you.
23 Verily I say unto you, that whoso repenteth of his sins through your words, and desireth to be baptized in my name, on this wise shall ye baptize them—Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them.
24 And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying:
25 Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
26 And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water.
27 And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.
28 And according as I have commanded you thus shall ye baptize. And there shall be no disputations among you [...] concerning the points of my doctrine, as there have hitherto been.
The love of God the Father and of Christ Jesus. Speak to Them and pray to Them for all things...and listen for Their Spirit and will. They know what is best for us, because They can see all. They will take care of us. Believe. Love and hugs and pocket hugs.
Kurama-c: Equus extends her apologies for not finishing the sketch of our little guest. But he has mended remarkably well. When Haru-clone found him, he'd gotten stuck between two slats of wood. He is a tiny little thing, so it's no surprise that he tried to fit through such a tiny hole. He is a beautiful green.
Xihuitl: I never would have thought of green. Traditionally, at least in Europe, they're white.
Kyo-clone: I thought you didn't like them.
Xihuitl: ^^; Well...I have enough hay to share. After all, the snow's thawed already. And if Kurama-c doesn't mind spending some extra time caring for the garden, they can have a bit of the herbs and roses.
Equus: (pokes her head in) Sh. He's sleeping. (vanishes)
Xihuitl: And Equus is absolutely enchanted with him. Sano will be jealous.
Kurama-c: But he's only a vulnerable creature and in need of care.
Kakashi-c: You didn't see him around my dogs. That "vulnerable creature" can take care of himself.
I know that “there is no other way nor means whereby man can be saved, only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.” I witness that Jesus Christ atoned “for the sins of the world, to bring about the plan of mercy, to appease the demands of justice, that God might be a perfect, just God, and a merciful God also.” [...]
I witness that “redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; … unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.” This absolute requisite of “a broken heart and a contrite spirit” prescribes the need to be submissive, compliant, humble (that is, teachable), and willingly obedient. Finally, I witness “how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah.”
~Richard G. Scott, “Jesus Christ, Our Redeemer,” Ensign, May 1997, 53
Fact of the day:
It is interesting to note that some mythological creatures are, to my knowledge, actually limited in their origin to certain areas. The phoenix, for example, is Middle Eastern, while the pegasus is Mediterranean. The unicorn and dragon, however, are wide-spread, with both occurring traditionally in Europe and Asia, at least, and the unicorn appearing to be present in Africa as well.
Hi!
"Believe in God. Believe in God the Eternal Father. He is the great Governor of the universe, but He is our Father and our God to whom we may go in prayer. We are His sons and daughters. Have you ever really thought that you were a child of God and that you have something of divinity within you?"
~ President Gordon B. Hinckley, Liahona and Ensign, Mar. 2006, 2–6
1 Nephi 16:28-29
And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the pointers which were in the ball, that they did work according to the faith and diligence and heed which we did give unto them.
And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it. And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things.
Why me?
Alma 34
30 And now, my brethren, I would that, after ye have received so many witnesses, seeing that the holy scriptures testify of these things, ye come forth and bring fruit unto repentance.>
31 Yea, I would that ye would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer; for behold, now is the time and the day of your salvation; and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.
32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of edarkness wherein there can be no labor performed.
34 Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.
John 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
And we all can live again, as Christ Jesus does. We, as He, will all be blessed with eternal salvation--joyful life forever--if we do what's right and of God the Father and Jesus Christ.
Love, and may Their Holy Spirit be with you. Pocket hugs. ^_^ Glomp!
Why is it I have so much trouble with guys? This evening, Starflower called me because her coworker—who I have never seen before, at least not at work with her, and not to know him—wanted my phone number. She said he thinks I’m pretty. I was wearing my dragon shirt and older jeans and my boots. My hair was in a simple, not even perfect ponytail. No makeup. Complexion not too bad, but not in the best shape. And he wants my number. Too shy to ask me himself, according to Starflower (probably just as well) but he asks her.
I go to Institute, do my hair, pick out clothes for it—though I will admit, sometimes or usually they’re unusual outfits. So that could be part of the problem. But no guy is interested, at least not that I am willing to show interest in return. Not that much has happened where I didn't return a guy's interest...but still. Why?
I don't date guys who aren't members of the same church. It's not to be a snob, but I have multiple reasons. For one thing, I believe in marriage for time and all eternity, and I believe that the proper authority and proceedings for that can only be in an LDS temple, between two people belonging to the LDS Church and "qualified" for temple recommends. So why date and risk breaking your heart, his, or both? Or not marrying in the temple? Some people can do it and remain strong, but then what? And I don't want to have that situation for myself.
