A Post
(This is actually from my response on destinyssweetman's site.)

If we all do our best to make this world better, imagine how much we can do!

*Even as the world declines, stay strong, people. We can all do our very best despite the world around us, and we can stay just as strong or stronger even when the world gets worse. Be there for each other and to help the world.*

(And for the rest of the post....)
Guess what, guys? I'm married! ^.^

*Um, Equus, you just met Sano.*

I know. Isn't he as cute as in the show?

*Does he know about this?*

^.^ My Sano...he's even blushing. He's so CUTE!

*Sigh. Thanks to joeyw23. Her certificate site is here.

A Gundam Wing Fanfic--The Death War
A post! Okay, people, this is actually a story being written by Adain and myself. Please tell us if you want more! Also, please tell us if you get a better idea for a title than what we have. ^/^

Basic disclaimers apply, including the claiming of original characters like Takai, Kameko, and Marlena.

Chapter 1

Cold Wind on a Summer Day

---

Duo shook his braid. “Stupid humidity,” he muttered.

“It was your choice to come to this town,” Heero said.

Duo glared at the somber boy, then shrugged. “What can I say? They have great ice cream.”

“It’s a Dairy Queen,” Trowa said.

“So?” Duo turned and spread his hands before him, being careful not to drop his ice cream. “Actually, you have to admit, it’s nice in its own big town sort of way.”

“Why did you bring us here?” Quatre asked.

“Because I have connections to this town.”

Main Street was busy with both cars and pedestrians. The Gundam pilots had positioned themselves safely on the steps of a church, out of the way of the crowd. And they were all holding chocolate-dipped vanilla cones, courtesy of Duo. Well, actually, by his recommendation; he’d made them all pay for themselves.

Duo sucked on the ice cream through a break in the soft chocolate shell, his eyes going past the brick buildings to the blue sky. He smiled. Father Maxwell would be pleased. He’d never had the chance to bring Duo here himself, but the kind elder had often wished he could as he told stories of his hometown to the boy.

Duo broke from his thoughts as something passed by.

He turned; a tall woman walked below them, her black hair flowing down to her knees. But there was something... Duo started after the woman. “Duo?” Quatre called. He didn’t bother to respond.

The woman’s pace quickened, her long stride carrying her past the other people on the sidewalk. “Hey, you. Wait.” Duo struggled between a pair of thickly-muscled guys. “Hey!”

The woman rounded the corner, and Duo glimpsed a violet eye looking straight at him. He ran after her. He skidded around the corner; the woman had vanished.

Duo stared at the sea of blond, red, brown, even green and blue hair. There were some people with black hair, but none sporting it as long as that woman had. No one was even wearing a similar outfit of black jeans and dark purple t-shirt under the searing summer sun. Duo frowned. “Where could she have gone?” He looked at the closest store front; a “Closed for Lunch” sign hung on the door. Duo sighed, and he raised his cone to eat. The ice cream was gone.

Duo turned; the vanilla and chocolate lay in a spreading puddle on the sidewalk. His shoulders slumped. “Bummer.”

- - -

Takai released the spirit’s hand. The elderly woman turned to her with a smile, then stepped onto the waiting, shallow boat. The boatman pushed off the bank and started punting across the river, and Takai sat down on the grass.

“How did your mission go?”

Takai glanced at her sister. “Fine.” Takai turned back at the spirit, which now looked to be in her mid-thirties. “Her body was so tired, but her spirit wasn’t completely ready to leave. She really didn’t want to go.”

Kameko sat down next to Takai and gathered the hem of her long, white dress around her ankles. Her white phoenix trilled, and she stroked its feathers. “It’s that hard for you,” she said quietly.

“Let’s put it this way: there’s a reason I have this job, not you.”

Kameko put a hand on Takai’s shoulder. “You have a strength I never could.”

“Yet for my...abilities, you have more strength than I,” Takai said. Kameko opened her mouth to respond, and Takai continued. “Something odd happened today. A mortal saw me.”

“Other than your mission?”

“Yes. It was Duo Maxwell.”

Kameko frowned as she rubbed her phoenix’s head. “Who—Oh, the Gundam fighter.”

Takai nodded. “I was in mortal form to help sister Akifa prepare. I certainly didn’t expect the Gundam pilots to be there, but they were. After I passed, Duo started following me. I disguised myself and became part of the crowd, but still...”

“Only seers and other spiritually attuned have ever been able to see us when we’re in mortal form, but if necessary, we could hide ourselves even from them.”

“I know.” Takai ran a hand through her bangs. “I don’t understand why. If it hadn’t been the lunch hour, it would have been harder to get away, but it shouldn’t have even happened.”

Kameko held up a lock of pearl-hued hair in her free hand. “Has he ever seen you on the battlefield?” she asked.

“I don’t show myself to living soldiers during combat.”

“Hm.”

Takai stood, tossing her long hair behind her shoulders. “Not that it matters.”

“It’s odd, though, and there has to be a reason,” Kameko said.

“Don’t worry yourself about it.” Takai tucked her fingers into her pockets and started away.

“Even if it happens to me, as well?” Takai’s older sister smiled knowingly, and even her phoenix was watching Takai steadily.

Takai bowed her head in response and smiled to herself. ‘No, Kameko. Though you are the elder, I will protect you. As will our Lord.’ She looked at Kameko. “People don’t tend to be as afraid of you.” She walked off.

- - -

“What was that about?”

Duo shrugged in response to Quatre’s question and started eating his new ice cream. “I just had a feeling.”

“What sort of feeling?” Heero asked.

“Ah, forget it.”

“About that black-haired woman?” Quatre asked.

Duo stared at the blond pilot. Then he laughed; he hadn’t exactly been subtle about it. He nodded.

“Because...I felt something, too. I don’t know what, but I felt cold. And warm at the same time. I don’t understand it.”

“Well, that’s not what I was thinking, but yeah, I definitely didn’t understand it.” Duo stared through the cement sidewalk, his brow furrowed in concentration.

“What did it feel like?” Quatre asked.

“Like...there was something familiar about her. There was a strong feeling. No, intense, concentrated. Like a laser. It was a lot of something for a very small area. If that makes any sense.”

“Perhaps you should drink less coffee,” Heero said.

“I didn’t imagine it, Heero.”

“He didn’t say you did,” Quatre soothed.

“He sure meant it.” Duo cocked a grin at Heero. Now that the war was over, life would be boring if he couldn’t tease his friends and get it back.

“Do you think it’s important to figure this out?” Trowa asked quietly.

Duo shrugged. “I just know I want to. It was weird.” He looked up at the sky. ‘But it felt like I knew her.’

   Valentine's Day / SAD
Hi! This is a multiple post, just so ya know, dedicated to Valentine's Day and Single Awareness Day. ^.^

*Yep. So we hope you enjoy the post. First we'd like to make a note, then dedicate the Valentine's Day portion to some wonderful couples.*

You can find someone to love, who will truly love you, and to inspire each other to be the best people you can be.

Couples that I know.
- Couple #1. They often disagree and sometimes argue and get mad, but more often they are not angry at each other. They love each other and, as I learned of more and more separated couples as I grew up, it was nice to know that I knew a couple that were (and still are) together. This isn't to upset anyone whose parents are divorced. Sometimes a divorce is even for the better. But please know that there is true love and happiness and joy out there.
- Couple #2. They had some real hard times, but they have worked to get through problems and are happier now. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been better not to have such problems, but they made it through. ^.^
- Couple #3. I'm not a proponent of meet, date, get married. But for these two, it worked. Such a loving couple, even if they aren't perfect. But hey, they're human, as are we all.
- Couple #4. My friend finally got her cowboy. After two failed engagements (which I think she broke off due to troubles in them), she is happily engaged for the final time to a man who finally opened his eyes to the wonderful woman who was there. Congrats to them. They're getting married in a little less than two months!
And some fictional couples.
- Huma and the silver dragon. I'll admit, the different species thing is odd. But even with troubles like the dragon's secret (that she was a dragon) they were able to make it through. Of course, it's a tragic ending. They die saving the world. (The Legend of Huma)
- Sam and Rosie. Cute! And it shows that love is possible. (The Lord of the Rings)
- Eowyn and Faramir. They deserve happiness. I do like Aragorn and Arwen, too. (The Lord of the Rings)
- Duo and Hilde. I like both of the characters, and they're just a cute couple. (Gundam Wing)
- Kenshin and Kagome. They deserve happiness. (Rurouni Kenshin)
- Alex and Tea, Refi and Pharoah, Equus and Sanoske. Happiness! (And we're allowed to dream, aren't we?)
- And a couple from my own stories. (shameless, aren't I?)
--Falcon and Verdana. They're perfect for each other!
--Mek and Ulca. She needs him, what can I say? And she is a loyal and protective friend, much less girlfriend.

^.^ That'll do. Please tell us about couples you like, real or fictional. (But please, no slash.)

And for SAD....

I am still moping some about the break-up between my boyfriend and me. He realized that I wasn't the girl for him, and I hadn't wanted to accept the idea that he wasn't the right guy for me. Oh, well. Thanks to my friends (including my ex-boyfriend) for their support. And he has still been my friend. ^.^

Meanwhile, the stalking of "the punk" has begun. I was going to stalk him today, but even though I do like him, I decided that a Valentine's Day stalk might not be the best idea.

But have hope, people. "True happiness is being married to your best friend." True love is deep, meaningful, and more than just a hug or a kiss. It is a friendship.

Last of all, may I dedicate this portion to One whose love never dies.

God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ loves us so much that He died so we could live with Him and Heavenly Father again, if we accept Them. And They love us enough to allow us to choose which way we want to go, and even to allow us to make the wrong choices, to feel sorrow so that we may also know and appreciate happiness, and to learn from our and other's mistakes.

*Love and friend hugs to everyone.*

If you want to know anymore:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

*Happy Valentine's Day and SAD! Remember, there are always people who love you, even if it's not romantic. (hugs)*

Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it is in dying, that we are born to eternal life.

~Francis of Assisi

(actually a Catholic saint, but I think they were probably neat people--especially him, since he was the Saint of Animals...or something along those lines...and I love animals!)

   Tamm
I'm sorry to say that Tamm, destinyssweetman's friend, died yesterday of leukemia. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Please especially keep her family in your hearts right now, and her friends.

Cry to the God who sends rain,
Run to the God who breaths wind,
Live in the God of the fields,
Pray to the God of our world.

"...Sad farewell,
When love is torn away.
Long farewell,
Till Death dies.

But the lost one is with you.
Her tenderness strengthens you,
Her gaiety uplifts you,
Her honor purifies you.
More than memory,
The lost one is found."
~Ella Enchanted

Until Death dies. It will, and we'll see Tamm again. Even those of us who didn't meet her in this life.

Love to everyone. Remember, God loves us. May you feel His love now. (hugs)

"I cried a thousand tears.
My tears, they fell like rain
And made this sea of fears,
An ocean of my pain.
I felt I'd drown, was going down,
But just before I slipped,
I looked up, and I beheld
A glorious ship, a heavenly ship.

Lift me up, take me home.
Lift me up, help me to stand.
Lift me up and carry me
In the cup of Thy hand.
Lift me up, soothe my soul.
Lift me up and dry my tears.
Lift me up and pilot me
Through the ocean of my fears.

You are the candle in the dark.
And I have found the lifeline
Coming into the ark.
Coming aboard this ark."
~ The Ark, Michael McLean

A very comforting part of this song, for me.

Love, and hugs. May God help, may this help, in Jesus Christ's name.

   Paper Cranes
I have a request. There are a lot of people who need prayers and help right now, inclduing als4137 and her sister Tamm, who has leukemia. Destinyssweetman is trying to get 1000 paper cranes for Tamm. I don't believe 1000 paper cranes will save a person, but I do believe in the love that goes into making them for a person. That love can help give them strength, no matter what the future brings.

*Why is this world so hard, sometimes? It's far from a perfect world. Hardships do not mean that a person has done something wrong, or that he or she isn't loved. It is the way of an imperfect world of imperfect people.*

But there is always love in the world, too. Darkness will not overwhelm the light. Hold to that light, even in the midst of darkest torment, even when it's hardest. We are here for each other.

*There is love from above. Hold onto that. God put us here, for one thing, to help each other. Hold on.*

Take care, everyone. May God bless and help you.

   Yep, still alive. ^.^
Hi. "Bad" news--my boyfriend and I broke up last Thursday. But I'm doing much better right now.

*Equus talked to him on the phone tonight, briefly.*

It was tough. I even cried tonight, a little bit. And I didn't do well when I talked to him on the phone Friday to say I couldn't (wouldn't) see him that day.

*He realized she wasn't right for him, but it wasn't malicious.*

And we're still gonna try to be friends. What with talking to him tonight, I am doing better.

*Good night. And there is someone out there that's better for him, just as there's someone better for her.*

Yep. Hugs. God bless everyone.

   I'm back!
Equus: Inu plushie! (tackles Tiggerola for the plushie)

Xihuitl: Here's a Kenshin plushie for you, Takara. Enjoy. And you might want to hide it before Equus sees it.

Equus: (finally tears the plushie away) InuYasha! (hugs plushie tightly)

Tiggerola: (gets up and dusts herself off) Thanks a lot, Equus. Hey, where's the original InuYasha?

Equus: (pouts) Kagome got him.

Xihuitl: Well, he is hers.

Equus: I know, but...but...

Tiggerola: Hey, Equus, now that you're off sabbatical, are you going to post stories?

Equus: Oh, yeah, stories! Yeah!

Xihuitl: She'll post something, I'm sure.

Equus: Like, Sheeba meeting Sano... (laughs) Don't worry, it's not romance, but it's fun.

Xihuitl: Or you can post your pics.

Equus: That, too! I could share the wolf-demon pic, once I finish it. It's for InuYasha, but she doesn't at all resemble the wolves on the show. She's sort of a mix of ideas, including InuYasha and Yoko Kurama (ears) and Shippo (legs).

Xihuitl: Have a fun day, peeps.

Equus: God bless you all.

Tiggerola: (yawn) I'm going to bed. Isn't that where you should be right now?

Equus: ^^; Bye, peeps!

   Yeah!
I got my homework done today! Or at least fairly well. Hopefully I'll do a little more this evening, but I wanna have fun!

*As long as you finish the little bit you had to do today.*

^.^; I watched the extended Return of the King with my friends, including my bf. It was fun, though I was tired.

*Of course. You got four hours of sleep last night, at the most.*

Well, I wanted to read the book.

*(glares)*

(sigh) Yes'm. Has anyone else read the Children of the Red King series? It's a fun one. ^.^

*Take care, and have a good week.*

And thanks for saying I'm funny, destinyssweetman! Uh...what did I do?

*Here, Equus, fetch. (throws plushie away)*

Sano!

*Bye, everyone. God bless you, and take care.*

(hugs Sano plushie tightly)
