To my fellow United States citizens:
Have you heard about the Supreme Court nomination coming up? Please read the information here, check the sources if you think you should, and consider the petition. This nomination does sound like a potential danger.

Now on to the news. ^_^
Well, I haven't been on-line partly because we didn't have electricity at home for most of last week. It came back on on Sunday. ^_^ After church, there was no choir practice, and my brother and his family went on home. We stayed for something for a friend, a sweet young girl we're friends with. My brother called to tell us that the electricity was back. There was much rejoicing.
Then later that night, Mom and I were heading into town, and we ran into a deer. I'm sorry for the deer. I'm also sorry that the minivan was hurt. But I'm thankful that we and the dogs weren't hurt (and were ALL wearing seatbelts) and that the car behind us was able to avoid the second deer because the driver saw our brakelights when Mom slowed down after hitting the deer.
But we were kept safe, and of all the possible scenarios (including the heavy traffic and limited space on the interstate that made it impossible to avoid the deer) it was the best one. Only the deer and the minivan were hurt. We couldn't avoid the deer. We were going fast (not above the speed limit, but maybe faster than wise at night). Of all other involved living beings, none of us were hurt, including people in other cars. Thankfully, Mom had an airbag, too.
Praise to the Lord for keeping us in safety as we pass through this life.

Fact of the day: The festive day of Halloween was originally All Hallow's Eve, I believe, and maybe not that festiev. It was the "eve" of All Saints Day, November 1, when all the saints' spirits roamed the earth. Remember, somthing that is hallowed is consecrated, is sacred to God. Before the saints came, the evil beasties took their chance to terrorize people.
I'm not positive on all of that, and there were (and still are, very likely) cultures that had a festive day for the spirits that were about to pass to the next world, or to remember that dead. (Think of Cinco de Mayo.)

Happy, happy birthday! ^//^ I'm shameless. I'm also now a year older!
Glroy to God in the Highest, who loevs us, and given and shown us the way back to Him--Jesus Christ. Peace on Earth, good will to all.
