She holds a secret
That know body knows
Is is her husband
Does not want her to hold
Long sleeves cover his crime
For she still says
"He is still mine"

No one notices
The fear in her eyes
Except for the child
She helps to hide
For children see
What is not visible

She comes home
For tonight is her last
One quick slap
He kills her fast
For he takes the gun
For otherwise
He'd be shunned

The town now quiet
The family is sad
They will lay near
In hand and hand
