   Three Wise Men day
January 6th....

It is the 33rd anniversary for my parents ^^

And the Three Wise Men day. Well, ok, I don't know how it is said in English, only in Spanish. Ok, whatever...


*Wednesday, January 5th*

Whatta sad day T_T....

Around noon, my mom and I were getting ready to go to PetsMart to buy some food for my doggie. I had pulled the car out to the drive way when I hear police car sirens whirring down the street. They were chasing this blue BMW down my street, but since my street is undergoing construction, the BMW tried to swerve out of the way of the big bulldozers, where it lost control and smashed into the street sign post, stopping in front of this house around the corner of the next street. The entire thing could be seen from my house since I do live by the corner. The police cars closed the street and all that so no traffic would accumulate. What surprised me was that no ambulance came to help the driver since he must've been pretty badly hurt because the crash was pretty awful. I don't want to give too much detail except that the driver was killed on impact. It was awful T_T...

There were about seven police cars behind chasing him and five narcotics cars (those all white cars). My guess was that the driver was transporting drugs O_O


*Anyway*

The Adult Swim Lineup is to be changed, again. FMA will come out at midnite....again. Why do they keep changing it????

Anyway, I'm loving S-cry-Ed right now. LOL!!

Hahaha...

Oh yeah, there was also a big heat wave on Wednesday. I hope the temps cool down later on in the week since I'm not all that used to the heat =/

*Tuesday*

Well not much to say here. There was a lot of road construction IN FRONT of my house. It was kinda kewl though, lol! My bro already went back to school but I don't go back til Jan 18th. Yayuh! Sometime before that I'll need to go to buy my books and all that. I don't want these last 2 weeks to go by so fast T_T....I like staying home =P

I also got to watch the foreign film, "The Eye" O.O I never really get to watch it all the way through but this time I did and it was a pretty awesome movie. Kinda scary at times.

   Monday
*The Rose Parade*

Well it turned out that we didn't get to go to the Rose Parade, but I was glad we didn't. IT WAS RAINING!!!!! We were watching it on the TV and we saw how hard the rain was over there. The poor bands were getting wet =( Aah! I remember this one time when we were in the middle of a parade, it began pouring and we couldn't stop or anything. We had to continue going down the route. My instrument got all wet and so did my uniform. Not nice.

The Parade was very pretty, I must admit. I thought the rain would ruin the floats, but it didn't =) One of the main highlights of the parade was the Mexican band from Sonora. They were awesome! =D


*Later that day*

Well after that, my bro and I went to the movies. We went to watch "Fun with Dick and Jane" (something like that) with Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni. IT WAS HILARIOUS!!!! XD

After that, we wanted to catch Wolf Creek but we had to wait about an hour for the next showing. So we sneaked into "Memoirs of a Geisha" for about an hour. It was very nice. Some parts of the film were filmed around my city. LOL!

We then went on to see Wolf Creek. Aah! It was scary. It was also based on real events. Well I wouldn't recommend it to anyone below 14. It has some scary scenes and all that. It takes place in Australia and is about some "nice" guy who helps these three stranded young people. It turns out this nice guy isn't all what he appears to be. I won't give away the ending!!

*About Adult Swim*

I guess Full Metal Alchemist is gonna go on break or something. The new lineup includes FLCL, S-CRY-ED, and Lupin the Third. Um...I can't stand Lupin the Third, so I guess I'll just be watching S-Cry-Ed since I did miss a couple of episodes.

   Hehe...First post of 2006!!!!!
*My new Avatar*

As you can all probably see, I have a new avatar for my site. Yup, I drew it with Paint. I guess it came out kinda well. Drawing stuff on paint with a mouse is not easy. It's much easier with a pencil ^^ It's not the first time I've drawn with that Paint program but this is one of my favorite ones. I didn't draw a chin on her because I didn't know whether to give her a long or round chin. Boo. I liked it without the chin and the white skin. I didn't wanted to bother with finding the perfect shade for the skin because it would either come out too yellow or too pink, or orange and that's like not very appealing. Haha...The pic is not based on any anime. It was just randomness...

*Rainy days*

Well the creation of my new avatar was the result of New Years Eve boredom and because it was raining outside. It was very dark and cold outside at 1 pm so I just huddled up in my room and went online. It's been raining nonstop. But the good thing is that there hasn't been any bad floodings (so far) nor any mudslides. I'm sure you all So. Californians remember the terrible beating nature gave us for like 2 weeks almost a year ago. There was a lot of rain. So. Cal is relatively dry. I think the rain average is like 11 inches a year (I'm not a meteorologist, so I'm not sure). A year ago, 32 inches of rain fell in 2 weeks (again, not sure but it was in the 30s...haha). And then the mudslides...The La Conchita mudslide claimed the lives of about a dozen people. That place is not very far from where I live and one my history teachers from high school had a friend whose entire family perished in the mudslide. It was bad. We don't want it to happen again...

The rain seems to be quite bad up north. I hope the rain is over for them soon ^.^ It better be!!!!

*New Years Celebration*

Hahaha...let's see...Well we had some family come over and all that fun stuff. There was a lot of food (yummm) and yes, it was Mexican food! Haha...

Well the countdown came and we all gave cheers and all that. We did the 12 grapes thing where each grape sorta represents a month in the year and you have to wish something for that month, then you eat it! That was fun. Oh yeah, for drinks we had Jose Cuervo Margaritas (can't go wrong with that...bwahaha). They were delish! My bro made them and it's kind of a mystery HOW he learned to make them since he's only 15 O.o Well they were good. Like right after I drank some I felt kinda sleepy, a slight indication that the tequila was a little too much for me. That thing has like 40% alcohol!!!!! But I have to admit that the margaritas were very good with the lime taste and the salty cup rim. FYI: I'm not a regular alcohol consumer...k?

*About 2005*

I think it was a good/bad year.

For me, it was a year I got learn more about myself and who I am in the world. I also realized that I needed to get a JOB if I wanted something. Hehe...Anyway, I also began college in the fall and realized that I shouldn't take my friends for granted. I love all of my friends ^^ They're such unique people. These are my high school friends like Anna, Carol, Monica and Jona whom I shared the past 4 years with and had to sadly part because of college. Nonetheless, we keep in touch through the wonderful Myspace.com ^^ We may make new friends and acquaintances in college, but nothing beats the trust high school friendships can create. I had Myspace (got it on Dec 24, 2004) and My Otaku (got it on Aug 26th, 2004) for 1 year too. Like always, the date Aug 26th has a special meaning for me...but it's a secret why!!! Bwahaha!

2005 was also a sad year. My aunty died, it was 1 year since my friend Joel died, Pope John Paul II died, the Katrina Hurricane affecting the people in New Orleans, the Rita Hurricane, the countless other hurricanes, the terrible earthquakes in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the floods and rains, the new diseases (bird flu) and the fact that the world is still at war.

*Resolutions for 2006*

-Do well in school
School is central in my life, as is my family (family is #1).

-Get a job
I've already applied to places during this Winter break ^^ I want to kinda help my parents out in repaying my loans.

-Improve my writing
I am a good writer, I think, but I want to define my style some more. I also have a lot of new ideas and unfinished projects. So, I want to kinda finish those ^____^

Hello! How's everyone been?? Well I've been ok ^^ The new year is around the corner! Yay! Well lots of fun is planned for today! HAHAHAA!

We might be going to the Rose Parade on Jan 2nd =P And along with that we might stay with some relatives that live in the area. It's kinda weird that they are having it on the 2nd of January, isn't it? Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that I went with my volunteer group a couple days ago to decorate the pretty Rose Parade floats with flowers. Yup ^^ It was fun! That's why my dad decided to take us this Monday.

   Hello there!
Well it's been awhile since I've posted. So here I am again =D.

*Christmas Eve*

Me and my lil bro gift wrapped all of the presents we had to give while my mom and dad did the tamales (yuuuumm). We left the gift wrapping til the last moment (ah...procrastination is bad and awesome at the same time). Yeah, we came up with creative ideas on the decoration part of it. We finished in like 4 hours. Hey, that's an improvement from the 2 days of gift wrapping for last year. I now have more practice so it's all good.

*Christmas*

I received clothes (which is awesome coz I need them for school). I thought that was all I was receiving. But then, my lil bro did the "Christmas Story" stunt. I don't know if any of you have watched "A Christmas Story" (the 'You'll shoot your eye out!' movie) with Ralphie wanting the BB Gun and in the end he thinks he doesn't get one but the dad tells him to look behind the desk and voila! There's the present he wanted. Well my lil bro did the same, only, it was behind the TV furniture. I was like "OMG! There's something else for me?!" I pulled it out and it came in the form of a CD. I ripped it open and to my glorious surprise, it was M83's new CD "Before the Dawn Heals Us". Yay! I was very happy. He made my day. Aw! I felt bad for sometimes being a b*tch to him, but he knows I just play around like that. lol! He went his own way to get me the CD ^_^ *is eternally grateful*.

*After Christmas*

Woke up early to head for the mall. My dad was home so I didn't have to drive all the way there =P.

There was a lot of people there. I went to the Vans store and bought me some classic vans. Yay! Then afterwards, me and my lil bro headed for Sam Goody, a CD and DVD store. I discovered their anime CD section and found the one I wanted to get my hands on: Paranoia Agent!! I also saw the Petite Cossette one and a Samurai Champloo CD. There were so many, but I got the Paranoia Agent one.
I went to the big line to pay and I didn't notice til later that infront of us (me and my lil bro), was this one guy from high school who *supposedly* had a crush on me(everyone said that he did and wanted to ask me out but I never asked him if that was true). Haha...I didn't mean to ignore the guy, but I was too excited about the CD and I was talking to my lil bro about stuff. I didn't notice this dude til he moved to the register to pay. So, whatever...I got my CD and I was very happy. Yayay!

*After that*

I've stayed home and played video games all day. Blah...I should be doing something more useful...Maybe later on today. lol!!


Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my Japanese novela, (I had to use 'novela' coz 'soap opera' sounds weird) titled "Gokusen", (yes, it's based on the anime!) finished on Sunday. I was so sad it ended. Boo!

Well let's see...

These past few days have been nothing but Christmas shopping with my mom =D. The stores were all crowded with people. The good thing was that we went to the big mall in town on the bus because finding a parking space was impossible. When we got there, all the possible parking spaces were taken up and many cars were just circulating around, trying to find an empty space. Haha, not us! We didn't have to worry about that. Lol!

I've been to some Posadas, which is a Mexican tradition during the Christmas season. My mom was telling me of her Christmases in Mexico when she was growing up. She said that on Dec. 25th they would just gather up as a family and celebrate with food and music. It was, after all, the celebration of Jesus' birth. So Christmas in Mexico wasn't all about the gifts. The actual date when they would exchange gifts was on January 6th, the day of the Three Wise Men or Los Reyes Santos (in Spanish). Since January 6th is the date that they celebrate the arrival of the three Wise Men who came to Jesus to offer him gifts, the people in most parts in Latin America exchange gifts on that day just like we do on Christmas. It is only recently that Mexico has changed its tradition to exchange gifts on the 25th of December instead of the 6th of January, but some parts are still strong with the tradition. I haven't gone to Mexico, but that's what I've been told about their Christmas celebrations.

So that was a little cultural insight...haha.

FMA won't be on today, nor all the regular Saturday Adult Swim lineup. There will be just a Inuyasha movie and other Christmas specials.
