   How Saturday went
Aah! Saturday was all good. It was the Air Show day at the Air Base. Here's a recap:

So I wake up at 4:30 am to get ready to go setup for the band's fundraiser at the Pt. Mugu Air Base. The band was gonna have a food booth for the Air Show and I had signed up to volunteer. I'm not a bandie anymore but I like to still comeback and help them out. So my brother and I get to the base at 6: 00 am and we have to pull up to the check in booth so they could let us in. They tell us we're an hour early. We're all "What the-?" According to the Band Prez. we had to be there at 6:00 but the Base guy said that all fundraising ppl got to get in til 7:00 am. So there we wait for an hour. I was annoyed with whoever said to get there at 6 am. Grr. Anywho, we get to get in after all. My bro's friend, who is the asst. Drum Major was lost and didn't know where to go to get the stuff we were gonna sell. My bro and I ditched him and went looking around the area where all the little booths were at. There were several ppl setting up. Something that stood out for me was the fact that there were a lot of soldiers around. I felt like they had their eyes on us civilians. It was nerve wrecking. LOL!

Anyway, my bro's friend found us and we located our booth and began setting up the things we were gonna sell: Chuck Burgers. Haha! More bandies came at around 8:00 am, including some bandie parents. We had enough ppl to run the place.

My bro grilled the fat, thick burger patties while I wrapped the burger in this waxy paper. I had the easy job =D

Our shift ended at noon, so my bro and I walked around the booth areas and see what other ppl were selling. Some were selling souvenirs and others T-Shirts. There were mostly food booths. We got bored and headed back to our band's booth and we in what else we could help out. We never realized we had the best place to watch the airshow. The runway where the airplanes and jets took off was right infront of us.

The downside about the Air Show was the weather. A lot of planes couldn't perform coz the marine layer was too low. The low clouds were a threat to the airplanes, especially the jets. The famous Blue Angels couldn't even perform! They do awesome spins and formations and other daring stunts. They're blue and yellow jets that often travel faster than the speed of sound. But because the weather sucked, they didn't perform. They're the highlight of the event!

We left at about 3:40-ish after they announced that the Blue Angels were not going to be performing.

I never realized how expensive we were selling the burgers. Before we left I had to check out the prices hanging in the booth's corner. WE WERE SELLING THE BURGERS FOR $6.00!!!!!!!!!!!! WATER BOTTLES FOR $3.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, we didn't set the prices. We were all amazed at the "expensive-ness" of the food.

Haha!

Another good thing was that I met up with my friend Anna. She lives in the military air base too. We had a good talk and all. =D

Here's some pics from last year's Air Show...notice the better weather!
