Pepper's Story
Ok well this is a story i wrote to go along with the Pepper Picture. Hope you like it.
There was once a feisty little red-haired girl named Louisa Pepperfield. She was a rather stubborn child with a very active imagination. She cared not for dolls, fancy dresses or tea parties as most little girls of her time did. Instead she liked to climb trees and fight amongst the boys in her neighborhood. When she was in her early teens she took the name of Pepper and joined a pirate crew that had recently laid anchor in her village. At first she enjoyed raiding the coasts of the many Caribbean Islands but she soon became angry with her fellow crew members. You see because she was a girl they would never let her come ashore with them during raids. But at the age of 14 and being the youngest of the crew she was obliged to obey their orders. When she turned 17 she had had enough. Pepper left the ship and swore to return the greatest pirate that ever lived with the world’s largest treasure to boot. She went to Hispañola and put together a rag-tag crew and set sail for Spain. She hatched a plan to kidnap the young crown prince Miguel believing at the time he was 12 but was surprised to find he was 19 and would be a very hard person to simply kidnap. So she disguised herself as a courtier from Sivilia to gather information that might help her kidnap him. She learned Miguel had to be married before his 20th birthday and formulated a plan to seduce him and trick him onto her ship to hold him for ransom. As it turns out Miguel was already engaged to a Miss Carolyn Beam so in order for Pepper’s plan to work she would have to win him over from Carolyn. Pepper had a great deal of trouble trying to figure out how to go about this for she had never favored a man enough to flirt with him and she had had no practice. It was a good thing for her that her roughness and boyish manner was exactly what drew Miguel to her. He was taken aback to find a women who love the sea as passionately as he did and fight amongst the likes of men and win. So naturally he fell in love with Pepper. All was going to plan expect that Pepper found herself favoring Miguel a little. “No” she thought. “I will never fall in love with anything but gold and the sea. He is my ticket to a great treasure not a lover.” So she carried out her plan and soon they were engaged. On the night before their wedding she suggested they take a walk on the beach where her crew ambushed them and took Miguel to her ship. She then wrote a letter to the King and Queen of Spain requesting $2500 million dollars for the safe return of their son. They paid the ransom readily and as promised Pepper set Miguel free. Miguel, on the other hand, had no intention of leaving Pepper for he truly loved her. He joined her crew and traveled around the world with them but he never got the love he seeked. Pepper shunned him till his death. She returned to her old crew and seized control becoming the first women pirate caption. Pepper deceived many men during her years as a pirate for her own gain, but she never really loved any of them. She died alone, her body set out to sea in a little treasure-filed boat where her soul now internally rests in the only two things she ever loved.
