~Sometimes a dream is all that you have left to hold on to~

It's absolutely absurd when a story idea pops into your head very late at night when you're supposed to be doing homework---It's what I live for.

She did not understand, she could not understand. This boy was her life, her fairy tale dream...love had blinded her, she thought, for surely she would have had the sense enough to not speak of it, her true feelings...but no, the intoxicating touch of love, of hopes and dreams, had clouded her sanity. Now she knew...love is but a vision of pure light, ever soothing, ever gentle, ever protecting...an illusion to hide the true darkness enveloping one's heart, consuming it. And when the heart is completely engulfed in that perpetual dark abyss? Bang. The bullet rips through your very soul, and the true essence of love is revealed...darkness. Yes, the girl knew this all too well...now that her soul had been pierced...now that her spirit within was weakening...fading...forming into a never-ending cascade of blood...

Blood. Her body and mind was stained with it. Blood...so much blood...in all the years of her life she had never seen so much of the substance ooze forth from a single individual...Why? If she had succeeded in holding that violent tongue of hers...this never would have happened...if only...

Her smooth, pale finger touched his lifeless lips...never had lips been purer, lovelier...divine...a silver tear fell upon them...

She knew she must move quickly—they would be arriving in just a few moments...(just a few moments...oh how they could last longer than one could bare...) but she found not the strength to stray from his side, nor to carry him along. She felt alone...lost...banished from the light that he had shown her...damned, damned lips, she silently cursed to herself. If only mine had been silenced in place of his...

She ran her finger along the soft flesh, desperately longing to kiss the one she loved, her prince charming...

She would have stayed there for all eternity, unmoving, if it were not for the warning. Though his spirit had barely passed, it pulled at her soul's chins...Run, it called, leave him, baby. Don't fall for his sake. But she would only heed half of the order. She did, indeed, run—she ran with all her might. Ran with every ribbon of strength she could find in her broken heart through the deadly silent streets and on toward the eerie forest to the North...her true love still cradled in her arms. Leave him, the spirit pleaded; he is but a burden on your shoulders.

The sickening taste of hopelessness rattled through her body, yet she ran on, exhausting the very life from her body, weaving in and out of so many trees, trampling over countless midnight flowers in the full moon. Blood foamed at her lips and choked her airways. It spewed from her mouth, splattering the lifeless body in her arms, those motionless lips.

Any and all comments would be very much appreciated. ^^ I just wrote this a few minutes ago, and it's my first draft so it's, of course, not yet perfect. Please give your most honest comments and suggestions, thank you and hope you all have a great Thursday.
